"Coming right up. She fills a large tankard with mead and hands it to Roland. That'll be 5 silvers."... "How do you know Delbyn?"
Roland laid down one gold rather than silver, and leaned in a bit further. "Captain Fray of the Favored Clam thought his associate might know something about a... situation that the former Captain Brima got us all caught up in." He smiled, hoping the name-dropping would be enough, as he actually wasn't at all sure of the captain's connection to the man--nor how a storyteller might help them in the first place.
"I have not heard of that name in a long time. Come with me to the backroom" She gestures for another person to take over and she heads for the backroom waiting for Roland
Roland took a quick glance back at the others before following the woman. While his shield was strapped to his back, he had left his sword on the boat--but only to appear unguarded. He hoped he wouldn't have to summon it, but then he was probably being a bit overly cautious, he told himself.
Twig, satisfied with the information she has gathered and the fish she has stolen, with start to look for her friends munching on the fish as she does so.
Twig looks down at the pouch and picks it up. Why did someone just throw their pouch? Were they mad at someone? Who would throw away a perfectly good pouch? She opens it up and looks inside. After seeing what's inside, she closes it, hangs it on her belt, and runs after Roland.
For those who entered the backroom you see a room filled with vegetable crates and kegs There are a few chairs and a table. The barkeep turns and firmly closes the door and gestures you to take a seat. "Now why do you seek Delbyn?"
Roland frowned in his seat. He thought he'd explained enough to actually get to talk to the man himself, but apparently not. His lips twisted a bit as he considered how much to reveal.
Finally, he answered: "It involves a coin and a curse. Delbyn himself should understand; no one else needs to know the particulars." He wasn't exactly trying to be harsh, but he clearly wanted to give the impression that this was a line he wasn't crossing.
"A coin and a curse. How strange."she seems to mull this over in her mind "My name Leanne and well you have a problem. You see Delbyn is locked up in the nearby fortified guard outpost. He was sitting on stage sharing his stories when a pack of guards rushed in and hauled him away. I never got the reason and I alone can't free him. Its been about a week since he was taken." She gives you a meaningful look "Can you help me free him? Be warned this means breaking several laws and you may end up on those wanted posters yourselves"
“My face is already on wanted posters.” Twig smiles brightly at Leanne, “Breaking rules is what I’m good at.” She continues to munch on the fish she stole, and continues talking with her mouth full. “What’s this outpost like? Got any details on it?”
"Its a prison. There will be plenty of guards inside. There are 4 watchtowers. 1 at each corner of the outpost. Watch out for Lieutenant Bram who is the warden.. He will most likely throw you in jail or worse. The only ones that can give him orders is Mayor Vathic or Commander Dietrich. No one is allowed in for visitation." She paces a bit. "You can can stay hear and plan how to break out Delbyn. I am sorry that is all I know"
Zhernon taps Twig on the shoulder, "Pouch mine,"and points to their body where it used to reside. They then look back at the others and adjusted their feet some. "Zhernon help. Curse bad." They shook out their arms a bit and chortled.
Roland mulled the situation over. He wasn't sure he wanted to break someone out of jail when he didn't even know why they were there. Still... it seemed as if this was their only option.
"You can can stay hear and plan how to break out Delbyn. I am sorry that is all I know"
The farmboy sighed. "Well," he began slowly, "this would be a lot simpler if we had the right magic. I know some, but mine is mainly for combat. I suppose we'll have to make do with stealth..."
He glanced over at Twig as he trailed off in thought. He didn't like this plan, even though it was all he could come up with. "Unless one of you has another idea, I guess our strategy is straightforward... wait until nightfall, sneak in, retrieve Delbyn, sneak back out. Ideally, without being seen or heard. Less than ideally..." He grimaced, shaking his head. "With minimal bloodshed."
Suddenly looking around the room, something else struck him. "We need to talk with Tilsu. She might be able to help with the 'sneaking in' part; I'm probably not going to be much of an asset there."
"Not throw. Stolen." Zhernon held out their hand but did not appear upset about the incident. "Agree. More minds make better plans." Zhernon will then wave their hands across the front of their body and suddenly appear dressed like one of the guards from earlier (casting disguise self). "Zhernon good voice. Good shot. Zhernon will help but needs sleep first."

Roland can't see Twig, but he does see Zhernon holding onto a halfling and Tilsu dining with an elderly couple
Zhernon sighed a little and went off into the room to find their lost coin pouch.
The halfing makes a hasty exit.
Zhernon please roll perception

A coin pouch rolls in front of Twig and Zhernon sees it as well. Twig also sees Roland take a look back before heading to the backroom.
Twig looks down at the pouch and picks it up. Why did someone just throw their pouch? Were they mad at someone? Who would throw away a perfectly good pouch? She opens it up and looks inside. After seeing what's inside, she closes it, hangs it on her belt, and runs after Roland.
Zhernon growls softly and takes off after Twig and in turn, Roland.

Twig looks down at the pouch then back at Zhernon, "Wait really? Why did you throw it then?" She unties it and holds up up to the kenku.
"Sneaking is not a problem!" Twig exclaims. "If we need them, I can steal the keys to the cell to!" She laughs and rubs her hands together.
"Not throw. Stolen." Zhernon held out their hand but did not appear upset about the incident. "Agree. More minds make better plans."
