Twigs eyes widen as she realizes what she just did. However her shock didn’t last long. Crossing her arms she glares at the captain, “Your first mate lady said that I helped when the boat was leaking, she wouldn’t let you throw me overboard! And I helped with those water monsters AND the hole in the boat! So you can’t throw me overboard OR feed me to your creepy crew!”
When the phantom sailors appear, she points at them. “See! There they are! They tried to kill us!”
The captain takes a closer look and was about to start having some words with Twig then he says "That's not possible. These sailor are dead for some years now. They were my crew mates when I first joined as a young sailor."Captain Fray looks to the incense burner on the floor. "Where did this come from?"
The smoke thickens some more and soon it looks like you may be in combat again as you see the sailors seaming to become more real as they move forward menacingly
Seeing as they weren't being attack yet, Roland rushed toward the incense burner and kicked it over, then began stomping the incense to stop it from burning.
Roland squinted at the burnt markings. "Are those... words? Hmm, it's no language I'm familiar with." He looked toward the others, hoping one of them could decipher the message.
Twig continues to glare at the captain until she hears him say these people were, his crew mates. "Were! WERE! You mean your ship is HAUNTED!" She watches Roland stomp on the burner and grumbles to herself, "I'm never hiding on a ship ever again. It is NOT worth it."
Twig peaks around Roland and squints at the markings. "Those are words? They don't look like words to me! ...but then again my reading skills aren't that great... Well at least you made the ghosts disappear..."
Captain Fray furrows his brow deep in thought as he look at the words. He reads aloud the words in common. He repeats the phrase to himself in hopes of jogging his memory. After a moment his eyebrows raise as if he remembered something. "The blessing..." He touches something under his heavy coat.
Captain Fray takes a moment to look at each of you "Come to my quarters. You may be of help"
Zhernon slowly gets back to their feet, limps over towards the others and the captain. They shook themselves a little and nodded after another look down at the message. "Help. Bad magic."
There are throngs of onlookers as you head up to the Captain's quarters. You see Thib in his pajama using a pot lid as a shield and a meat cleaver as a weapon.
The captain calls for Althea and promptly closes the door. He reaches into his coat and pulls out a coin. He places it on his desk "I think this coin is the blessing and perhaps also a I curse I received from Captain Brima the previous captain before me. During those days the Favored Clam was more of a smuggling ship than a merchant vessel. Damn she must of taken this from that strange island. That was the Day she left with the others and only she came back saying the sailors died in some rockfall accident."Captain Fray roughly strokes his beard and looks at each of you "I think we are being drawn back to that island. I will need your help returning this to whoever is She who Slumbers"
Twig feels that familiar itch in her fingers when the captain places the coin on his desk. However, it vanishes when the captain says it may be cursed. Realizing she had started to lean towards the coin, she straitens. "She who Slumbers? Who's that? How are we supposed to help with getting this thing back to her? How are we going to get to this 'strange' island? Is there and loot there that isn't cursed?"
Zhernon still looks a bit worn down but nods a little. "Strange island. Strange magic. Strange lady. Strange." They look at the little girl and shuffle next to her, "Learn you will. Many pitfalls in treasures." They looked back at the captain, "How long?"
"I have been trying every which way to get to Neverwinter with zero progress. Lets see what happens if we head to Bakkuda Isle. It should take about a day to get there. There is a small village on the island. Its called Shardbreak. Go to the Churning Barrel tavern and look for the old storyteller Delbyn. He may know more. I never went deeper than the town so anything beyond that is a mystery." says Captian Fray
Althea seems deep in thought and looks to the maps. "That island does not exist Captain. You must be mistaken"
"It exist Althea I promise you that"says Captain Fray. He picks up the coin and puts it into a leather pouch and offers it to the group.
(Long travel day today. Will try to post tonight)

As the phantoms came into view, Roland stepped back and groaned. "NOW what are they trying?" he growled in irritation as he again drew his sword.

Wondering what the hells is happening, Tilsu has the thought of throwing the burner off the ship. But then sees Roland kick it over, "Shit.", he says.
The incense is stomped, but it leaves behind words written in strange language burnt into the floor boards.
In Primordial
That which is owed must be offered back to she who slumbers
The phantoms disappear into nothingness.

"It's nothing I'm familiar with either. Perhaps the captain can enlighten us on why his ghosts are attacking us and not him." Tilsu chides.

Roland, still a bit confused, followed along. (( OOC: Did any of us overhear what the captain read? ))

Tilsu follows, looking about if their fight attracted attention from other members of the crew. ( Says he read it aloud in common so yes. )
