After everybody has finished breakfast, the Master Chief leads the party out of the mess hall to the companionway heading up to the upper deck. At the base of the companionway there are four crewmen standing there. Each is wearing some sort of globe on their heads, but their visors are up. At the each of their feet are two more globes, “right put these on because today’s test is in a low air environment!” the Master Chief says.
One of the crewmen is holding a globe with a double set of chevrons above the visor which he passes to the Master Chief who takes it and puts it on; interestingly this globe also has three buttons directly above each ear. As the cadets and others examine the globes they notice that theirs both lack a moveable visor and the buttons above each ear. As they put their globes on, Zalacious is as usual protesting about something. With a smile the Master Chief pushes a button and suddenly the party members can no longer hear anything but they can see the Haddozee’s lips moving. The Master Chief pushes the button and they can once again hear Zalacious’ commentary. The Master Chief’s voice can once ahead be heard “right in line alphabetically.”
It takes the party a bit to work out the order but they soon sort themselves out as follows: Cero, Dimbo, Nicoale, Naidana, Ozzy, Shea, Vargach and Zalacious. As the Hadozee happily starts moving to back of the group where he figures he will be as far as possible from the Master Chief’s watchful eye, he feels the meaty paw of the Master Chief on his shoulder “not you sunshine, you’re going right in front of me where I can keep an eye on you! However, you might find this useful?” as one of the crew hands over his equipment. Two of the other crew hand over Ozzy's and Vargach's equipment. The party soon resorts itself as follows: Crew member #1, Cero, Zalacious, Master Chief, Dimbo, Nicolae, Crew member #2, Naidana, Ozzy, Crew member #3, Shea, Vargach Crew member #4.
Once the party is organised, those behind the Master Chief can see he pushes another button and every party member suddenly finds themselves in complete darkness. The voice of the Master Chief can be heard by every party member saying “don’t panic, well a little bit of panicking is OK, this all part of the test. The crew members will lead you to the first scenario and I can promise you not walk you into too many walls!” The party sets off shuffling but soon gain their confidence and start walking. After climbing for what seems like forever the lead crew member stops and they hear the voice of the Master Chief “right let’s see how you handle this?”
The party’s globes clear and they find themselves standing on the deck of a spelljamming ship. Distant stars and wheeling clouds of multicolored gas spin around you. Suddenly a series of explosions obliterate two of the ship’s masts and hurl a dozen, or so, sailors into Wildspace! Lying on the deck, her body ruined by shrapnel, lies the ship’s captain. As you are trying to work out what to do, a pirate galleon slams into the ships starboard side. Seconds later, your vessel is boarded by astral reavers—humanoids possessed of strange features, waving cruel weapons, and unleashing blasts of magic. “Hold the top deck!” the Captain snarls with her dying breath. “Grant them no quarter!”

Nicolae stood examining the globe he had been handed. He wasn't entirely sure he needed it but he put it in anyways. When the hadozee's voice was cut off he decided he did need it.
From there he followed the others, taking his place in line, he moved in the darkness. Suddenly the deck of the ship appeared and the chaos of battle in the skies suddenly exploded around him. Gripping his glaive tightly he moved to within 10 feet of the closest reaver striking out with his glaive while keeping an eye out for the opportunity to strike at any other reaver who dared pass within his reach.
Nicolae's strike with his glaive cleaves the reaver's head open down to its extremely large nose. As he does so another reaver - this one has helicopter blades mounted on head - leaps onto the forecastle where it hovers about 3 feet above the deck.
Dimbo - you're up (see PM)
Zalacious - you're on deck literally and figuratively!

Unbeknownst to Nicolae, Dee Da Doo thoughts mirrored his to a degree as the plasmoid seemed to be examining the globe in hand. And yet without knowing just how long they were expected to be in the new environment, he brushed aside the near momentary lapse of judgement to squish the new proverbial hat into place. He even went the step further once the blinders were put in place to dim attention to any extraneous senses throughout the rest of the body, least he ruin the test for himself!
And as giddy as he was leading up to the 'test', even Dimbo's excitement... no, it actually grew at the sight of all the chaos! But though he'd been but moments away from reaching into his back for pen and pad, seeing Nicolae wide in battle gave him pause long enough to mutter, "We can save that 'till the end", and instead pull out several vial.
A few of which are immediate consumed, releasing some mysterious cocktail that lit up his form not unlike the starry background of wild space. If he can but after which reach the Captain without being harmed in the process, he slide forward with hesitancy to do just that, and start lathering onto her wounds a bit of himself as whatever concoctions he'd "ingested" began working their magic in mending wounds and pushing out sharpnel. Short of that however, his body would instead begin to jiggle violently for a few seconds before expelling a wad of explosive slime at any two reavers close to each other.
Action: Cast (1st Level)Healing Tonic on the captain, restoring "7" HP.
OR(if unable to reach her/its 100% clear she's dead)
Action: Cast (Cantrip)Slime Time at any reaver within 5ft of another(if possible). Dex Save(DC 14) or take 4 Acid Damage.

"Wha the wha??" Zelacious screeches, jumping up onto whatever is available to jump up on and taking in the chaos...
This is it, he thinks as he draws his rapier. Time to escape! He turns to look at "Master Chief" and is eyeing up the artery he aims to sever when out of the corner of his eye Nicolae all but bisect one of the pirates.
And the blob... blobs. What the heck to Zelacious know about what a blob is doing, you tell me, huh? But still... What if this is just the test, he asks himself. An elaborate set up to see what kind of men (and women, and goo and all inclusive) we are?
Or worse yet... Not a test, but the "good guys" won?
Ok, ok... So it's not time to escape just yet, he supposes. Bide your time, Zel. See which way the blood splatters before you do something irreversible, eh?
Decision made, the Hadozee climbs. Up a mast or a rope or even just up the railing to the next level, he is just looking to get some height to him. Ten to twenty feet is fine, he just likes the view from up above. Allows him to survey all the action and pick his targets carefully... Which he does now, looking for a pirate who seems to be close to one of his fellow "recruits." Once targeted, Zelacious draws and flings a dagger with... Indeterminate precision at this point:
Dagger Attack: 19 Damage: 5
Plus Sneak Attack damage if he was able to find a target within 5' of an ally: 2

Happy to have his equipment back but bemused by this helmet that blocks the use of his powerful bite, Vargach looks around warily at the chaos around him.
