"So, Gnome dudes, tell me... How exactly would we take this ship out for a little test drive?" Zelacious inquires of Pik and Kip.
“Well ah um we don’t really know because we’ve not found anyone ….” suddenly spying Naidana sitting in the spelljaming helm “stupid, I mean brave enough to try to connect to the helm!”
As Naidana sits down in the helm it briefly glows and Naidana hears a low tweet and four small tentacles emerge from the ports and wave around before retreating and then the helm goes dark.
There are a wide range of symbols on the command deck but unfortunately Ozzy doesn’t recognise any of them!

Nicolas walks around the command deck. So much of it seemed familiar and yet he still did not understand, or recall, what everything was. It was like a thought right at the edge of his mind that he just couldn't quite niggle into existence. He examined what he could see, eventually finding himself standing behind Naidana as she tried the control. He observed I tried to understand what was happening.
Arcana 8
No, it wouldn't come to him. He sighed disappointed.

"So it's all new to you as well, eh?"Dimbo said in an amused tone while turning to see what caught the gnome's attention. After seeing the results of Naidana's interaction, the plasmoid cannot help but sloppily clap his hands together. "Very, very nice!" He said as he approached the helm. "Shame it didn't seem active for long. But then again, perhaps it's for the best. Wouldn't want to get jettisoned to another plane without some preparations now would we?" He says jokingly, before then looking over the helm.
An idle thought has the plasmoid reshaping a hand into a psuedopod and look about ready to insert it into one of the ports. But at last moment he seems to chicken out and looks to Naidana. "Hmm... Could be it needs a bit of power along with connection. But again, probably best not to get too ahead of ourselves, eh?" On that note he notice Ozzy drift off for elsewhere and start to follow. However, curiosity gets the better of him, prompting the plasmoid to wander over to the equipment/console the Giff had been interested in and study it for a moment. If he too hadn't recognized any symbols, then with a shrug he'd turn to the others and say, "Shall we go see what else the ship has to offer? Could be it's previous owners might've left something undiscovered even by the technicians here!"
(@DM: As a note should it matter regarding the symbols, Dimbo knows Gnomish, Common, Deep Speech, and Abyssal. I'll throw in spoilers as well a history check if needed to try and recognize the language if any tied to them:)
Zelacious is interested in everything. While he keeps up his constant banter about everything and nothing at all, he looks around and touches everything. Everything! If someone is looking at something, Zelacious is positive it must be fastinating and goes over to check it out. If it is shiny, Zelacious goes over to check it out! If it looks like it may be small and able to be pocketed indiscreetly, Zelacious goes over and checks it out.
Zelacious is most definitely not one to succeed on an Arcana or History check, of course, and it wouldn't even occur to the Hadozee to stretch his brain in such directions... But he is curious and inquisitive and is definitely one to poke and prod and see wgat every gadget, lever, button, widget and such does. Curiosity killed the cat but only because a Hadozee put the feline up to it...
Still and all, Zelacious may do something by accident... but he is clueless about anything more technological than a bowline knot. He is endlessly curious but not very bright and mostly looking for geegaws to steal more than he has any expectation of accidentally jump-starting a Brain Ship.

Naidania listens to the Plasmoid's insight, and she deems it logical. She hides her frustration of not being able to figure something out. "Very well." She says emotionless, but there is a slight tone of disapproval of herself at the very end of the sentence. "We shall inspect this device if another opportunity is given." She makes a mental note to visit the library for any insight on a Nautloid Spelljamming Helm.
She then hears Zelacious approach the observation deck. (I am assuming he goes there.) She closes her eyes and takes deep breaths to return her heart rate to normal. When the Hadozee approaches the Helm, she quickly steps out of it. She notices that he is as curious as she is, but his curiosity seems to be misplaced. "Humm... That is not how.... Wait, no. It is unwise to do that..." One notices that she is taking deeper breaths by now.

Dimbo recognises some of the symbols but they are really only the names of objects that you would find on a spell jamming ship. Those of you familiar with spell jamming ships would know that most of the steering of the ship is done by the occupant of the spell jamming helm.
There are lots of shiny things for Zalacious to check out but not of them are removeable. He follows the various members of the party around the Bridge, Observation and Command decks asking questions such as "what's this do", "why's that there" "whatever it is, its in a dumb place - I reckon it should be over there" etc. Pik and Kip do their best to assuage his infinite curiosity but soon he and the rest of the party work out that they do not know much more than what they've already told them.
If Zalacious had still been touching things after by the time Dimbo had finished his go at some of the controls, the plasmoid chuckled and shook his head. "Best we be catching up to our Giff friend, 'fore he gets too far ahead now." He said while maneuvering his way to the stairs to at least start on heading down to the hold/cargo deck. If their's commentary on the prison deck just below however from the gnomes, then Dimbo might just blitz through the hold out of curiosity for the prison section.

The niggle in the back of Nicolae's brain simply would not go away. But at the same time he couldn't nudge it out into the open. So much was familiar and yet unfamiliar at the same time. It was a very disconcerting feeling that he had to lay aside for the moment.
Speaking to Pik and Kip, "Thank you for the opportunity to conduct this spelljamming ship inspection. Is there further instruction at this time? If there is not we have instructions to report to spelljammer nexus for basic training after collecting service weaponry from Mr Blip in stores."
Nicolae waits attentively to the two and if they are dismissed he will call to the others that it is time to move on and head to stores.
Speaking to Pik and Kip, "Thank you for the opportunity to conduct this spelljamming ship inspection. Is there further instruction at this time? If there is not we have instructions to report to spelljammer nexus for basic training after collecting service weaponry from Mr Blip in stores."
"Nothing further from us" says KIp. "In fact you're all done here"finishes Pik.
Assuming that there is nothing in fact that the other members of the party want to see/understand about the ship and what little Pik and Kip know of its operation the party makes their way to the airock.
As they emerge from the airlock they find that in addition to the two guards, the Master Chief and the Boatswain who oversaw the simulation they had recently participated in are also standing there. The Chief muses to the Boatswain in a voice clearly designed to carry to where the party are standing "Tarto what do you think is the most important attribute of a successful crew?" "Trust I'd say trust is the glue which holds the crew together Chief. Each member of the crew must be able to trust the others to stand by them, respect them and their property, etc. etc." Tarto replies as she takes a deep draw on her ever present cigar. "And do you think we may have an issue of trust with this crew?" the Chief asks "It would appear that way Chief"Tarto responds "And what do you think we should do about it?"the Chief asks Tarto pauses for a moment before responding "well Chief I think we should what this crew has to say and how they think it should be addressed!" as she flicks some ash off her cigar
Zelacious put his hands in his pockets, finds something in the other direction to catch his attention, and aims to mosey on out of the whole conversation. "Now now, we don't be needing to get into the affairs of others," he says softly but otherwise stays uncharacteristically quiet.
Nicolae narrowed his eyes and paused a moment when hearing the conversation clearly meant for them to hear.
"And how does one trust those they barely know?" he says, loudly enough for the others to hear him. "I have heard it said; The team that trusts--their leader and each other--is more likely to be successful. My father used to say: Never suspect people, It's better to be deceived or mistaken, which is only normal, after all, than to be suspicious, which is common."
Dimbo at least seemed VERY much interested in exploring every nook and cranny of the ship. Literally, in fact, if given half the chance to abandon certain social norms in favor of the freedom of all his full body. Yet if others were of a mind to move on, and knowing there yet was much, MUCH more to see, it doesn't take much to convincing (if any) to correct Dimbo's course and see him more steadily following after the others.
Though for better or for worse, Dimbo's curiosity at the idle speculation from Master Chief and Boatswain has him trundling over and stopping before the pair to asks, "I couldn't help but overhear, as my fellows here have probably as well, but... what's this all about trust and what not? Did something happen?"He asks so plainly that subtly might almost seem like a foreign concept to the plasmoid.
