Nicolae changed into the red uniform of the cadets and then gathered with the others to head up to the sky dock. He carried his helmet and the small glass tablets was around his neck on its lanyard. He kept mental notes of where they were and going trying to learn the layout of the place as best he could.
"Cadet Nicolae Delcroix checking in for spelljamming ship inspection." he says as the security guard turns his attention to them.
"What my friend here is trying to say" says Shean pushing Zalaciuos in front of him as they pass the guards "is exactly what my fellow cadets had said, we have orders to come here for a ship's briefing. We will be on our way now and let you with your duties. Good job gentelmen!"
The first guard looks over at the second guard "are you called Smedly" he asks? "No I ain't" the second guard answers. "Never mind, do you know what an ordersss is?" the first guard replies "Can't say I do" replies the second guard.
After this short conversation, the first guard looks back at the party "new cadetssss, you say? Well changes in ordersss for new cadetsss. Nobody gets into the Skydock without first of all getting a can of sparks and a can of striped paint from engineering!"
”Sparksssss? Stripessss?” questions Vargach, his eyes narrowing at the guards before him. “Are these guards mentally deficient,” he thinks, “Or are they just trying to haze us?”

While Vargach would be familiar with painting stripes on his tribal companions before going into battle he has never seen striped paint. As for sparks again he would have seen them as his tribe's blacksmith forged their simple weapons but would have no idea if they can in fact be collected. As unfamiliar as he is with humans, Vargach cannot determine if the guards are pulling his leg.
"Listen Schmedly, and for the record you are both most definitely Schmedlies... Anyone stupid enough to make fun of the speech impediment of mean and green there would most definitely not be put into a position to give orders. And most definitely not to override someone else's orders. Now you two yahoos can either step aside and let us follow our real orders or you'll be finding out what it's like to have a whirlwind of scales and monkey blades entering and exiting orifices that you didn't even realize you have!" Zelacious says with a sneer. The Hadozee needs no insight into these two whackadoodles, he will be pushing back whether he thinks they're on the up and up or not. ((But insight if you want it: 4 So he believes them, he's just being an ass by nature...))
"Go here, go there, get this... Listen up! I been jailed and kidnapped and shanghaied and good lords up above only knows what else! You shall step aside and let us get our day done or there shall be a mutiny all up in your face and it's going to have my stink all over it, yes?"
From the back of the group, Ozzy looks on with boredom. With a big exaggerated yawn and stretch, he walks up to the guards and moves to the wall next to them, (stepping on guards toes on the way). He leans against the wall and slides down to a sitting position and pulls out his sketch book from his jacket and starts scribbling.
IF the guards question him, he'll say with out looking up, "If you won't let us follow orders, guess we won't."
The behavior of these beings confuses him, so he waits to see if they let him and his companions by. In the meantime, he favors them with a predatory, toothy smile.

"You gentelmen " says Shean to the guards "Are being extremely rude and must mix us being new here to be stupid. Now, step aside and do not interrupt the normal flow of the Academy anymore. You should be ashamed. Come on people. Let's not waste more time with this... soon to be reported gentelmen... " he says trying to cross to the hangar bay to continue their duties.
Seeing that the party are not going to fall for the hazing, the second guard looks over at the first guard sticks out his hand and says "you owe me 5 silvers, I told you they wouldn't fall for it". With bad grace the first guard reaches into his belt pouch and extracts the necessary coinage. He then says to party, "no hemets, no entry to the Skydock!" While he waits for the party to don their helmets he opens the door.
The party makes their way through the door and sees tied up in front of them a ship
Standing in front of the gangway are two gnomes. One of them bows to the party and says "I'm Kip and he is Pik and welcome to Spelljamming ships one-oh-one." The other gnome immediately responds "you fool I'm Kip and you're Pik" before turning to the party saying "who knows what this is?"
Naidania does not suffer fools, so she doesn't pay the pair too much attention about their names. She does put on her helmet, safety first, always. She then looks at the ship, and tries to recognize it.

Annoyed at the guards, and having seen coinage flash before him, Zelacious gets a mind for some larceny. While everyone is donning their helmets and such Zelacious will subtly shove Ozzy into Dimbo to hopefully cause a bit of a disturbance... Or at least a distraction... and try for the first guard's coin purse, as they were the one betting again Z's crew.
Sleight of Hand: 14
"Can't you guys walk and don helmets at the same time?" Zelacious calls out loudly, making big hand gestures and being generally loud and obnoxious once the larceny is attempted. He has learned through time and trial that when something goes missing the first suspect is generally the quiet, sneaky one and not the obnoxious one that nobody can forget.
After a minute or two of snark and insults Zelacious will don his helmet and follow the rest. "It's a ship!" Zelacious declared to Kip and Pik or Igg and Ook or whatever their names. "It don't look like no ship but you just said this is Ships 101, genius. SO obviously it is a ship! Don't be going all tricky and sneaky on this crew, boyo, We're not nearly half as dumb as we look!"

Not even feeling the hadozee bounce off him, Ozzy stuffs his sketchbook into his chest pocket, dons his helmet and heads outside. After meeting the two little gnomes, he looks up at the (ship?) they are gesturing towards. (Arcana: 19)
Nicolae grinned as they walked past the guards. "We may have been born at night, but clearly we were not born last night." he says. He then dons his helmet and walks out toward the ship. Looking up at it he wasn't sure about the type of ship, but it was a ship and he knew that he was looking forward to getting back into the skies.
