Thulgrim hasn't met this so-called King Grol, but he's heard enough. As if the sight of five bugbears isn't enough to get his blood pumping, the desire for vengeance on the part of his Rockseeker kinsmen sends him into another furious rage and he charges at the 'king'...
BA: Rage with Frenzy Action: Greataxe v King Grol (assuming he is the closest): Attack: 14 Damage: 17
OOC: Everyone can see in the room, and the bugbears can see everyone.
Giving a little more time for Nemean and/or Roland to respond (quickly, as Thulgrim isn't waiting long before he kicks things off), and then I will roll initiative and get this battle underway.
Nemean snarls at Grol "You should have finished the job the first time Grol! Your master is not coming to save you, we made short work of him, now we shall have our revenge!"
He spits out a curse in his native Tabaxi tongue as he bursts forward with incredible speed lunging across the room and striking wildly at the Bugbear king with his blades, swinging furiously at his nemesis.
Roland rushes forward alongside Nemean. "For Waterdeep!" he shouts, all thoughts of sneaking forgotten. He draws his rapier and short sword and swings both at the leader.

OOC: I'm not sure if I get advantage on my attacks. The Assassinate ability says I do if they haven't "taken a turn in combat", just in case I do I'll put the second roll here for my first attack, no point in the second since it was a crit.
OOC: Roland's assassinate ability will apply, since you have beaten them in initiative (two crits!).
Nemean, Roland, and Thulgrim have all posted their actions for round 1 in advance, and are all engaged in melee combat with King Grol. Spread throughout the room are 4 other bugbears. We're not using a grid for combat, so as far as AoE is concerned it depends on the size of the area. If it's smaller, Finna will be able to avoid any friendly fire.
OOC: Correct, the bugbears have not taken a turn, so they have not had a chance to move yet. You can target several of them by centering the cube further back, behind the party, if you would like to change your action from the crossbow attack.
If you're ever worried about holding things up, it can help to post a couple of possible actions (like "if I can hit at least 3 of them with this spell without any friendly fire, I do that, otherwise I attack with a crossbow"). Let me know which action you're taking and I'll resolve round 1.

Despite his bravado, King Grol was clearly not expecting such a coordinated attack. Nemean, Roland, and Thulgrim set upon him in a flash; while Nemean leads with whirling slashes, Thulgrim occupies the bugbear king's morningstar with his axe, leaving the opening for Roland to slip his rapier underneath his ribs, and his shortsword through his hip. King Grol's responding growl is interrupted by Finna's bolt landing in his chest. "They...have archer," he grunts, bloody spittle flying from his mouth as he does so. His morningstar careens toward Nemean's head but it quickly becomes clear the king is shaken by the attack; his swing is slow and brutish, and Nemean easily slips beneath the attack, twisting to avoid another incoming morningstar. Thulgrim turns to bat away an attack, but Roland, caught between his target and another of the bugbear's, is struck hard in the back. The force of the blow nearly sends him sprawling to the ground, and a ring fills his ears. The last bugbear eyes King Grol cautiously before charging out of the room, taking Finna by surprise. With nothing to block the sudden rush of the creature, Finna can only attempt to roll away from the morningstar as it slams into her arm.

Roland shakes his head experimentally after the blow, he tries to right himself as best he can. Gripping his swords, he steadies himself before rejoining the fray. He aims to finish off the leader, having not forgotten what he saw in the castle keep.
OOC: I wish to use a Lucky point for any subsequent attacks directed at me, if they would hit for this combat.

King Grol casts a single glance toward the barricaded door, which is all the opening that Roland needs. Shaking off his daze with some ranged healing from Finna, he leaps and thrusts his rapier into the bugbear's head, landing and rolling as it crashes to the ground. The king dies unceremoniously.
Roland is quickly set upon by two of the bugbears, one of which ignores Finna as she escapes to the corner of the room. "O dech draal dhuur dar!" it shouts, and the rogue finds himself twisting between morningstars, his shortsword searching for openings.
Thulgrim's axe meets morningstar, pushing it aside, and nearly taking his opponent's head off with the next swing. Nemean cuts his opponent, but his reward is a morningstar to the side, knocking him a few feet away. He rolls with the landing, quickly back to his feet.
