I'm interested in joining if there still is an opening. I have a character that I can easily level to the required level.
Name: Belnum Bhimu Race: Protector Aasimar Class: Warlock (Hexblade) Backstory: (Background: Soldier; short backstory in Spoiler.)
Belnum was born into a modest family. His father, Zehlin, was a member of the village guard, and as such taught Belnum not only how to fight but also to protect and help those in need. Since he was a young child, Belnum would sometimes hear an angelic voice in his dreams guiding him along his way. This voice went by the name of Mykiel, who tended to be very strict (by the book) and would give Belnum an earful whenever he “strayed from the light”. When Belnum was a teen, Mykiel appeared in one of Belnum's dreams, offering him untold power in exchange for promising to always help protect the people of the land from evil. As a young adult, Belnum joined the guard and worked his way through the ranks, but always felt he had a greater calling. Finally, one day, Belnum decided to leave his position in the guard and go out into the world to try his hand at adventuring in hopes of finding his true calling.

Name: Gerold Blackstone
Class: Wizard
Race: Human
Background: Sage
Backstory: Gerold was born to a middle-class family in the capital city. His father was a tavern owner and his mother one of the barmaids. Always the curious child Gerold would ask question about the world in which he lived. One day he snuck out of his house and wandered into a library. He fell in love with the place and would continually visit after that when he had free time. Eventually, the library would offer him a chance to work there and an opportunity to visit the royal library. It is here that he met the wizards who studied the arts of the arcane, and here where he would eventually meet his master Fyr Guildheart, who would begin training him as her apprentice. He wanted to know everything there was to know and use his knowledge to help those in need.
You find yourselves in the city of Davilion, a large city with a history of mining as its source of wealth. Iron has been the lifeblood of its people and has shaped them as such into a strong self-reliant folk which seldom seeks help from outsiders. The fact that you yourselves being outsiders are being recruited could hint at something larger is at play. The hour is late a little after midnight and it is a dark and foggy night. You were all recruited to meet an inspector Shaw for an investigation task. You were asked to meet near a quiet city corner and await transportation which is to be provided. After a short wait a well dressed human man walks out of the dark fog into the little light offered from a near by street torch. He looks to be middle aged perhaps in his late thirties.
"I would like to thank you all for being here on such short notice and at a late hour. As you know you are being called upon to carry out an investigation. The village of Greybrook a few hours away has been reporting disappearances and strange events which are troubling. A week ago a meteorite shower passed overhead and we believe that is when these reports began. The village is small and would normally be considered unremarkable. You may have questions so feel free to ask anything you might wish to know."
Waiting in the light of the torch at the intersection stands a man a medium size. One could mistake him for a beggar by his unrefined appearance, his messy head of dark hair and his unkept beard of a day or two. His eyes, one lilac and one pearlescent white, turn to face the man approaching the group. As they are presented with their task, he raises a question.
"Strange seems pretty vague. I myself have been called that in the past. What are we talking about here?"
Standing a bit to the side of the street light is a fairly tall man of average build with light blue eyes and dark brown hair. If it wasn't for his armor and his Yklwa, which he is slightly leaning against, he could be mistaken as a common trader. Almost as echoing the previous request for more information, he nods in agreement and states.
"Yes, any additional information you can give on our task would be prudent."
"I can tell you that something like this has only been reported once a over 100 years ago in that area before the village took on the name of Greybrook. Our history books tell us that a temple was established to Lucius a divinity devoted to light and justice and the problem subsided after that. Since then we know of nothing that could be considered out of the ordinary being reported. As far as your investigation it is being privately founded. You will go ahead and I will be shortly behind you with your benefactor."
Brix had been haggling with the tavern owner trying to broker a new contract for his family spirits when the word came looking souls to investigate some mysterious happenings in a near by town. Realizing that the negotiations are not going to produce the desired results, Brix ends the discussion and turns away dejected that this was failure number three in his attempts to gain new distributors for the family liquor. But after listening to the offer from the messenger and seeing a few of the regulars voice their intentions to take up the cause he decides that maybe he'll tag along. Who knows it might just be the distraction he needs to get back on his game. Besides, perhaps if he proves useful, he might generate enough good will that a new contract might be given in thanks. He hurriedly packs his gear and heads for the rendezvous point. He arrives just in time o hear the exchange between the gathered.
As the group starts to board the carriage a small voice asks, "Will we be meeting a contact when we arrive? Perhaps a guide of sorts?
As the group turns to discover the source of the question they see a short gnome, though actually pretty average as gnome height goes, standing before them waiting his turn to board. Dressed in scale armor and traveling cloak he has two bandoliers draped across his chest. On the bandoliers are small vials made of hollowed out antler held in place by small loops of fabric. A belt full of pouches circles his waist. A gnome sized mace hangs from a strap on his shoulder next to a stuffed rucksack. A coil of rope and a bed roll are attached to the pack. A floppy brown cap adorns his sraggly blond head and completes the ensemble.
As the two of you climb into the carriage you see this crest located on it.
(If you wish to know about it you may roll investigation to see how much you have learned from your stay in the city)
Shaw Turns toward Brix and says.
"The inn keeper, if you care call it an inn, has been informed of your arrival and has been paid to give you lodging if you so need. He is the closest thing to a contact you will have I would start by asking him any questions. Given the small nature of the village I would suggest speaking the locals. Tight-nit community and all someone has to know something, getting them to talk is the real challenge."
A masked man speaks up "So we go to this town ask around about the disappearances and wait for you when or if we findanything?" He begins to board the carriage alongside the others "Am I understanding that correctly?"

Perfect lets begin!

A carriage pulls around and awaits for you all.
(OoC here but is this our first time meeting the others in the group?)
(you have met a little being in the city looking for work and are familiar with each others faces and basic information)
Shaw turns and looks at Veyran with a keen eye.
After hearing the details from Shaw, Belnum looks over at the carriage, and heads over towards the rear to climb in.
"You thinking something must have happened to this temple there?"
Veyran shrugs as he climb in the carriage.
"Could be. We’ll just have to have a look and find out."
