The wine splashes around noiselessly, and without regard from the ghastly attendees. Inside the cup twinkled another small gem sigil, similar in kind to the other two previous found.

Belko tossed it to Ferro, " Building up quite a collection."
Rai moves along with Ferro, back to the wall as well. He picks up Iemiru before it can scamper off and find something to bite and places it on his shoulder. "I don't like dinner parties. Especially not haunted ones," Rai whispers to Ferro, eyeing Belko as he studies the goblet. When the gem passes hands however, he leans over and studies it intently.

As you study the gems you recall seeing in the foyer tapestry a depiction of Jhaal in his study removing these sigils from a small chest. With the book Belko read, you all can piece together that it seems the sigils need to be put back on the chest.
When you are ready to leave the ballroom:
This new room is stately, with dark wood paneled walls and wide windows. The room is littered with books, maps, pictures, bits and bobs of all kinds, put around in a haphazard fashion. But on one side is a large desk, whereupon sits an open chest, visibly seeping fog into the air.
Ferro nods and cautiously approaches to see if he can fit the gemstones into the chest. He will do so if the method is apparent. He wants to examine the bits and bobs for items of value but he figures this is more important.
Ruby, as you look inside, you see a swirl of shimmering colored lights. They start to spin and coalesce into a vision the longer you look, and you see yourself vanquishing the last member of a blood demon, and a sense of exhiliration overwhelms you! You watch yourself start to walk out of the blood soaked crypt to a waiting crowd outside...but they are all bearing weapons, with fear and anger on their faces. You open your mouth to tell them the good news but nothing comes out, instead you hear them shouting "Demon! Demon! Kill it!!!"and as they rush at you, you look down and see yourself slowly turning into the demon you thought you vanquished, and the fear of that realization, becoming the very thing you thought to kill smacks your psyche hard and you begin to desperately plea with the people but to no avail as their weapons come rushing at you...
"That's a fair point," Rai replies, taking the gem from Ferro and turning it over a few times in his hands. Though that wasn't exactly the reason I had in mind...
Following Ruby, he eyes the chest with the strangest mix of wonder and caution. He steps closer and hands the gem to Ferro again, looking at the attachment mechanism to see how these gems are supposed to fit into the chest, if the method isn't apparent enough. Rai wants to figure out how fog can continuously pour out of such a small chest without dissipating, Where's the motor? Where's the glycol tank? but he's afraid of what he'll find if he looks into the chest.
Then he looks around the room. Ferro's comment on back-stabbing still echoing in his head, he wants to make sure no people---living or otherwise---gets the jump on them while they're figuring out what to do with the chest. He pulls out one of his daggers in one hand and his stirring rod in the other. He then tells the others what he's doing. "Let me know if you find anything of interest."

Rai turns to Ruby and walks over, putting a hand on her shoulder to keep her from walking backwards any more. His face is scrunched up in worry. "Hey, hey! Ruby, what's going on?" He looks at the chest to see if anything's changed, and looks back to her. "Is everything okay?"

The notches on the chest look like they will fit the gemstones without much work. Once Ruby backs up from the chest it simply continues to pour out its strange fog, however, next to the chest is the dagger seen in the tapestry earlier.

As you pick up the cup and bring it up to smell, it feels like something clinked or shifted on the inside of the goblet.
Ferro shakes his head. “It’s your funeral. And I already used my one healing potion on you.”
Belko grins and pours the wine out in the corner of the room, " Thats gonna leave a stain..."
Then he looks in the cup.
The wine splashes around noiselessly, and without regard from the ghastly attendees. Inside the cup twinkled another small gem sigil, similar in kind to the other two previous found.
Belko tossed it to Ferro, " Building up quite a collection."
Ferro almost doesn’t catch the gem, he’s so surprised.
“Belko, that was so savvy! We may make a respectable burglar of you yet!”
Rai moves along with Ferro, back to the wall as well. He picks up Iemiru before it can scamper off and find something to bite and places it on his shoulder. "I don't like dinner parties. Seeing Rai's interest in the gem, Ferro hands it to him.
"Yeah", he whispers back. "When you're in a crowd how can you be sure the people behind you aren't going to stab you in the back??"

Ruby will enter the new room and cautiously make her way toward the chest to try and get a look inside it.
" Well....shall we place the gems in the chest?"

Ruby seeing herself become the very thing she had moments before though she had finally freed herself from backs up away from the approaching crowd.
”No! I’m not I killed them all! Please don’t come any closer I don’t wana hurt you! LEAVE ME ALONE!”
Ruby becomes almost frantic and will backpedal until she runs into something.
Belko intercepts the stumbling Ruby, " Who are you talking about, Lass."
