A piece of scrap wood torn from the overturned carriage hangs limply from Rai's hands as he stares in horror at what transpired. He looks up for a moment, but quickly stares at the ground below him, afraid of what he might find if he looked too hard at the sky. "He disappeared." A small chuckle escapes from his mouth. "He just... disappeared. Gone." He doesn't argue or curse or respond in any way, but spends the rest of the time silently trudging along with the rest of the group. His knuckles are white and it looks like he'll break the wood in his hands if he wasn't careful.
He welcomes the momentary break and gets his bearings enough to function for a while. "So. This is the Skahlhammer Manor." But it's clear he's not entirely calm as he visibly jumps when Nissa appears. He follows Ferro instead, suddenly incredibly interested in the tapestry and it's opposite in the mirror. He sits in front of the mirror and stares at it for a long couple of minutes before he speaks again. "That's why my shop's covered in fog. One man's greed. How sick." He stands up, leaving the wood board on the ground and looking at Nissa, and takes a breath as if to start talking with her. But nothing comes out for a few seconds as he contemplates telling this young girl about what happened to her father. "We're here to help, yes. We'll do everything in our power to fix this mess." He shifts around on stiff legs and his hands turn into ivory fists at his sides. "It's more than a mess. If there's anything you know, anything you think could help us, it would be great if you could tell us."
(A short rest would be great.)

Belko finally managed to get his breath back and then the mirror girl started talking, he climbed to his feet and rubbed his temples then straightened his cravat and brushed himself off.
" Very well, Belko."
" Oh! Excellent discovery.....uh......Ferro!"
He hurried over to assist......and be away from the mirror....
Ruby looks at Nissa contemplating her for a moment.
”Yes your father brought us here to find you. He was with us but the manor claimed him i’m afraid. Can you tell us what happened here or more importantly do you know of a way for us to help you and your father?”
(A short rest would be good as we are lacking in heals but time is also sensitive and that would burn 1 of our 10 hours. Might be worth to do a little exploring/investigation first? Dono we got some really low hp peeps)
Nissa looks around for a moment and then shrugs. "I'm not really sure. There was supposed to be a banquet, but when I got to the kitchen that morning I was suddenly surrounded by fog and then attacked...by the flatware...I think. It was very confusing. I heard Jhaal had received a chest recently with three gem like sigils on it that he took off. The other workers here say they've seen them in various rooms but it's been hard to pinpoint because this fog has turned the house into a maze. Nothing is ever where it was seems like."
“Well that closet was a major disappointment, all I found is a crate that used to hold treasure. And this letter, take a look. Ever heard of a dreamkin before?”
Ruby thanks Nissa and promises to help before turning to look at the tapestry in the mirror.
”I don’t believe I have ever heard of dreamkin but yes I think taking a breather might be in order. If outside was a taste of what’s to come I think we need to be at our best.”
Ruby thinks back to seeing the manor drawing in the parties essence.
”If these sigils are to blame then after we rest finding them should be our top priority I think.”
Arcane roll to see if I know the sigils if applicable 21 (rolled in log)
(You all are welcome to take a short rest. 9 hours left.)
(Since the sigils came from the box it seems fairly intuitive to you that they are innately connected to the box, but if there is any further understanding it escapes you for now)
Peeking into the doorway you find yourselves looking into the family chambers. In front of you is the children's playroom, where a couple of child-sized spirits are sitting on the floor playing with toys and dolls. To your right is a short, small hallway that leads to the boudoir. From the direction of the toys you hear a couple of children begin to speak.
"You're new here, aren't you? Have you seen our father? We don't want to play anymore. Can you help us? This is not a fun game. Yeah, I want to be a knight again! And I want to go on big adventures like father did!"
Ferro is inclined to back away from this room, though the boudoir area is enticing as a place to potentially find some valuables, but he doesn’t want to mess around with haunted spooky stuff.
After a moment’s hesitation, realizing he’s not really sure what they’re looking for exactly anyways, he sighs and comes into the room, sheathing Black Widow as he does so.
“Hello, kids. Your father, you ask? Hmmm, yes, I might have seen him… what’s his name?
After listening to Nissa respond to Ruby's inquiries Rai settles down in a corner of the room for a quick catnap. When he wakes up, he's disappointed to find that his equipment is all gone, and he is still in the manor, but at least he feels a little better. Stretching, he scans his surroundings for anything he can use as a weapon, should they encounter something dangerous again. Regardless of if he finds anything or not, he will silently follow the group towards the back, making sure nothing is following them. I've seen enough creepy things here for a lifetime, best not be caught off guard with something else.
Belko screwed his courage to the sticking place and stepped into the room.....ghosts were horrifying, yes.....but surely a couple of toddler ghosts couldn't hurt too much....
" What are you tykes up to in here?", he said, forcing a jovial expression.
Rai you notice that the voices are coming from the toys, not the ghosts playing with them, but the spirits haven't noticed you...yet. You also notice that your things have begun to rematerialize on your person again, which is fortuitous since there isn't much around to use as a weapon otherwise.
The children's voices shrill out again,"Jhaal is our father, he's very important! Please help us! They won't let us go! We don't want to play this game anymore! No! Wait! Don't hurt them!!!"The children scream as the ghost's heads slowly turn to look at you, like an owl, their bodies remaining in place. Soulless eyes look at you before a large billow of fog explodes out from them, then quickly dissipates, leaving you facing two more Night Terrors! The children's voices are no longer heard...
(To expedite this, we will free form this combat. Assume we are following initiative rolls, but we will do a simple order of you all first, then the monsters. Post your actions. The room is not very large at all.)
With a curse, Ferro quickly pulls Black Widow back out and holds it in front of him (fast hands). He approaches one of the terrors and readies an action to attack it once Belko attacks it with his sword, hoping to be able to use the teamwork to score a better hit.
(ready an attack once Belko comes up to attack it, so as to get sneak attack dmg)

damage 15 + 36 sneak attack

(I think a rest is pretty much mandatory at this point, we got chewed up good, another tough encounter will drop us)
Ferro to all:
“Well that closet was a major disappointment, all I found is a crate that used to hold treasure. And this letter, take a look. Ever heard of a dreamkin before?”
Belko ignored the proffered letter, he didn't like to read things.
" Dreamkin? Some kind of fey?"
" So...shall we venture on? Or is anyone else feeling particularly dizzy currently?"
Ruby thanks Nissa and promises to help before turning to look at the tapestry in the mirror.

Once they’ve rested, Ferro says:
”Time to get a move on. The sooner we figure this out, the sooner we can get out of here, hopefully. Let’s look around.”
He will suggest checking the door at the right-hand base of the stairs. If no one objects, he will cautiously open the door peek inside as previously.
"I agree lets explore the lower floor before we proceed up the stairs. Shall we then?"
Ruby looks at the letter while she waits.
Also assuming people were done talking to the ghost girl
Belko comes up next to Ferro his blade drawn in case the area behind the door was occupied.
