Joree pauses after the memories flood back. She wipes her eyes and shakes her head. "I'm fine. You can all go ahead now if you want." Joree steps away from the obelisk and goes to inspect the paths while everyone else uses it.
A walk around the spire reveals the three paths available. The first is a sloping path into a green swamp. A green gassy substance seems to hang low and dead trees are scattered across it as the view dissipates into the fog. The second path on the backside of the spire leads to a dark lava rock plain. The final path leads into a cave with sharp jagged rocks jutting up from the ground in clusters.
A inspection of the doors on the spire reveals three slots that look like they would hold circular objects.
"I'm guessing those are for the keys? They don't seem to be normal keyholes." Joree turns and looks at all the paths and sighs.
"So, the cave looks like more of what we went through. I know I'm suited fine to that environment, but not for the rest of you. I'm worried that a key is in each path and we will eventually have to go down them all, but we can come back to the cave path later if need be. Would you all agree the choice is between the poisonous bog and the lava hellscape?"
"That makes sense I am fine heading down to the bog. I wonder what these keys will look like" says Hocerys. If no one has any objections, he takes the path towards the bog while keeping his eyes peeled for danger.
The swamp has murky water that is only a little more than a foot deep. This is still enough to slow the group down as you travel. As the group heads into it there are little bits of land that stick out which could provide faster travel.
Hocerys you notice a few of things.
1. Off to the left there are some floating bodies that are mostly submerged and covered with moss.
2. On the little bits of land sticking out you see little scratches as if something is burrowed into them.
3. The green gas seems to be drifting to a specific point. It should be possible to follow it.
"There some submerged bodies over there. I think we should stay away from the land masses as there seem to be creatures burrowed into them. Huh the gas seems to be traveling in a specific direction. Do you think we should follow it?" says Hocerys
"I'm sure the danger is where the keys are. Mind your breathing, if this stuff is poisonous I can potentially heal it, but only if I can reach you. I'll lead the way in case of hidden enemies, everyone keep your eyes peeled." Joree will follow the gas and look for tracks or other signs of activity. 5 on a survival check :[
(Sorry for slow response my power was out for 30 hours so was really busy haha)
Joree you lead the party through the swamp avoiding the dangers pointed out by Hocerys. As you follow it the gas seems to begin moving faster as if drawn to a point. A stone Goliath statute kneeling hand covering a eye, face crying out in agony. The uncovered eye reveals a glowing green gem. Behind the statute the gas is a thick wall that cannot been seen through.
As you touch it B the gas explodes into a circular swirl around you all and the statue as it expands to a 100 foot circle. Its retreat reveals a large monstrosity.

B walks over and pats Joree on the shoulder ‘‘I’m sorry mate, do you need a hug? That felt really sad.’’

‘‘Ya know, I think I am good on remembering things for now.’’ B follows Joree
Hocerys nods and follows B
Soren clears his throat, “Yep, let’s get out of here.”

‘‘The bog seems like the slightly safer choice. Maybe we go in their first?’’

(How big is the statue?)
(Regular Goliath size)
B walks up to get a closer look at the statue (14 investigation)
As you get closer B you hear something behind the gas stir.
B reaches out and touches the statue.
As you touch it B the gas explodes into a circular swirl around you all and the statue as it expands to a 100 foot circle. Its retreat reveals a large monstrosity.
