As Eric moves back for a better position the beast seizes the chance to strike at him! It's movements are powerful but they were also rather sluggish. Tala had fired an arrow whizzing through the air piercing the trunk of this beast. The mushrooms and strange flakes began to shed from the beast as it lost it's color it still was standing but it seemed like it held on by only an inch at this point. Mood had weaved together a streak of blueish flame spiraling the magical burst of arcana forward at his fingertips. However the streak at this moment in time seemed to have a sluggish feel itself. The beast had managed to duck allowing the blue flame to spiral off completely.
"Rargh!"

Ellaria is normally quick to react but noticing plants within plants is apparently not her strong suit. She finally reacts when she see Mood move in front of her.
"I don't need you to protect me." She says as she jumps off the stump she is standing on and points to the plant, shroom thing everyone has been attacking. Anyone paying close attention will also notice a small streak of black streak out towards the shroom by Eclaire. A jet black owl flies by the shroom hooting loudly as it dive bombs the plant before flying another twenty feet up and circling overhead.

Casting Toll the Dead cantrip at Shroom 3. DC 13 Wisdom Save. Damage: 5
Owl familiar doing a fly by and using the help action to provide advantage on the next attack against Shroom 1.
As two of the mushroom creatures close on the Half-Orc, he squints his eyes; trying to move out of the way would only expose him to further attacks. Gritting his teeth and gripping his spear tight, he tosses the corner of his coat to the side for better movement, showing the characteristic paint of white and grey on his scale armor, and instead attempts to hit the most hurt of them. This is different than the fights he is used for, as he yet has to learn what his companions are able to do, and is indeed taking mental notes of what he observes. At any rate, he follows the one rule he had always followed for such situations : keep a cool head.

I don't know how lore-wise the colors he wears are recognizable since it's something we made up, but I guess everyone is pretty busy fighting anyway :)

Trying not to repeat his previous mistakes, Ram aims carefully, striking during his foe's movement to maximize the impact. There is no attempt at creating needless pain in his actions, only ruthless efficiency born of the urgency of the situation.

What's going on with the crits this fight ? Anyway, that's one more d8, plus one more due to the racial trait "Savage Attack".
Noticing that Ellaria's black owl has distracted the shroom that is attacking Eclaire, Eric doesn't miss his chance. He unseathes his rapier, moves towards the creature and moving it upward, he tries to hit both the shroom's stem and cap.
He'll have to remember to pick up his dagger after the combat...

As Ellaria points at the shroom it begins to vibrate before a low gong begins to echo in the forest and the shroom drops to the forest floor, unmoving ... dead.
Even with the owl creating a distraction Eric's blade manages to bounce of the thicker portions of the shroom. Eclaire had blocked on of the beast fist before rushing forward slashing one of the beast with spores and chunks of wood falling to the ground but the beast had stood strong.
"It's okay Eric, we'll stand strong."
Her voice was static per usual but her face looked rather determined looking forward. The fight would be closing to an end soon but Eclaire would do her best to make sure no one was hurt before that time had come.

Mood doesn't register Ellaria's protestations - indeed, he had not approached to protect the wizard, rather to gain some distance from the fungal abomination.
This time, he sends forth Rattatosk to nip at his quarry's ankles (help action).

Ellaria will mentally indicate to the owl to take another dive on the shroom. As the owl flies by, Ellaria steps forwards with her blade out. With a slight motion down the length of her blade the katana seems to be wreathed in some sort of magical energy. She strikes out at the remaining shroom.

Goramar pierces the mushroom in what he takes for a vital point, somewhat turning the spear between his hands to make sure the kill is assured as fast as possible and immediately turns towards the rest of the group, taking in sights of what his companions - and the owl - had in store, getting ready for his next move.
