In reality, Mood is relieved by the more casual pace - it is a beautiful day, and stopping to sniff the roses, as they say, would not go amiss. Éclaire doesn’t seem to think so either, surprising her goblin friend with a blossom to wear.
”So then, miss Tala… I’m intrigued as to your story. That is, if you feel comfortable to share it!”
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Hi there! I'm a Christian musician based in Canada :)
Tala focused on navigating blinks at Mood's request. After a moment to pounder she responds.
"Sure not the most exciting life. I was born and grew up in Tristain mostly with my older brother Grim. He was the one that taught me how to use these (points at her short-bow and short-swords). He also taught me how to navigate the land and survive. I can confidently say if not for him I don't think I would be alive, only person to ever really care you know? We were going to go out and make a name for ourselves get rich and start a mercenary guild. He always wanted to call it "The Reapers" always thought it was a dumb name (she smiles a bitter sweet smile).
He disappeared on a hunt for food killed by a beast they say. Grim was careful though so I don't believe that. I looked but never found anything. Thats when I started traveling to get away from it all. Started doing odd jobs for a mercenary group for coin was going well till I found that the group was a little too distasteful in their work. I'm no saint but somethings you just don't do. Been traveling since then till this moment. Still plan to make it big and start a guild! That's about it without boring you with all the small details."
She looks reminiscent then gives mood a smile
'How about yourself? Whats your story if you don't mind my asking?"
Goramar was keeping a constant pace during their travel, looking serious as ever, taking it seems his role as the frontline and scout very much at heart. When they saw potential dangerous beasts, he had stayed on the ready for anything, but they were fortunate enough to not have to deal with those. He gave a short prayer to Dawn that it would remain thus, as they were likely to face enough dangers once arrived at their destination.
Tala had offered to do the navigation, and as much as he could tell, she was doing a pretty good job, letting him focus on keeping his eyes open for any potential threats, and somewhat he looks in his element doing just that, although him not wearing the lightest kind of armor did not make for having light steps. Deciding against going to the extremes by asking them all to keep quiet, he instead listens to the conversations, or at least the conversation that starts.
Curiosity taking the better part of him at some point, he even finds himself slowing down slightly to let them catch up, interested in what that enigma of a man he would definitely take for a Tiefling had to answer.
OOC :
I forgot to mention that this could be my favored terrain (which is grasslands) but I don't know if that matters here, just mentioning it for further reference. But I think it's more likely than Ram would have just "helped", giving Tala advantage for navigation if that was needed, I missed some of the information haha my bad
Ellaria manages to keep stark focus on the time and the sky, almost as if she was counting seconds in her head at this time. It was about midday or noon when they had left give or take a half hour but now it had been about two hours and perhaps around 6 miles the group has wandered out now. A relaxing jot but not exactly a short one for anyone who wasn't used to getting out already. Eclaire seemed a bit startled with a surpirsed expression by Tala's display of affection. She had reached one of her arms out patting her on the back. It was indeed a bit awkward but she wasn't uncomfortable either she seemed genuinely awkward in that moment. She pointed at the flora in Tala's hair.
"Pretty."
She said in her usual static tone, soft yet stoic with a straight face. She had listened as Tala offered her story the bushes grew a bit larger but they weren't at this jungle yet. Tala was navigating like a pro as she shared her story. Ram himself had a vague idea of the time and day but nowhere near as specific as Ellaria. He knew it was the afternoon and they had walked at least a handful of miles. Tala saw the name of the jungle "Red Light Jungle" an odd name for such a place but she kept the party on track as they began to travel even further. Eclaire had patted Tala on the shoulder by the end of her story. It was than the mossy roads had split into a crossroads with a sign that lead into three different locations. The first read
Town of Glazing Winds: (Marked several days from here to the north
The second was marked to the east
Ole Glady's Alehouse
The third had read a warning sign to the west. "Danger" looking to the map Tala knew this was to the Red Light Jungle.

Here is a map I put you're tokens in their but feel free to move them around to match their position.
OOC Thank you for letting me know this is you're favored terrain ^^ Any difficult terrain will not be difficult if Goramar/Ram is leading the party for traveling purposes ^^
"Looks like we gotta head into potential danger, anyone need to prep anything before we head? I'm guessing that sign is not there simply to keep tourist away."
The hexblood's gaze meets Tala's in a moment of unspoken understanding.... he allows it linger for a beat. "Grim sounds like a good man. T'would be nice to believe that his death was a lie, and that you will see him again... for stranger things have happened, or I'll be damned."
Uncorking his flask, Mood chooses to avoid her question. "For the record, 'Reapers' has a ring to it."
While the group is preoccupied discussing the dangerous road ahead, Ellaria speaks softly under her breath touches her right hand to her chest. Her right hand is covered by this very unique leather strap covered in runes that wraps around her wrist and the palm of her hand. When her leather wrapped hand touches her chest a shimmering, almost invisible, wave of magic spreads across her body before disappearing.
Ellaria steps up to the rest of the group.
"Everyone ready? No sense in lingering. Into the dangerous maw of the forest we go." She says, finishing with a wicked smile.
He hadn't spoken much during the journey, but had definitely been paying attention to the rest. For a moment he feared everyone would start talking about their past and wonder about his own, but fortunately it hadn't been so. The ever serious man just wasn't very fond of talking about his past. Not that it wasn't much interesting anyway, right?
- Let's hope we reach the ruins before light leaves us.By the way, I can be helpful at disarming traps and unlocking ... locked things. Just so you are informed. If you want me to move up front when we are inside the ruins to do any of this, then it's fine by me. I'm also good at blending with the shadows, in case you need someone to go unnoticed. Also, I'm no magic user and in terms of combat, you'll find me getting pretty close to enemies.
The group had moved forward, the passing of time and miles behind them the sun looked even brighter and perhaps even warmer than before. It wasn't blazing hot but not quite as comfortable as before either. The group had finally made way into the red light jungle. Coming into the jungle the party had held true to their established roles. Tala had took the lead but Ram was in familiar terrain a combination of jungle and grasslands he felt right at home. Things seemed.. Quiet except for the crickets and cries of small insects. A few slithering snakes had crept by but had minded their own business. Though the group was alert and ready to go on a moments notice.
That still silence eventually.. Was broken as one.. Two? No how many of them were there? What were they? Humanoid like beast with shroom like caps and a mushroom like appearance ooze and slime falling off the bodies of these beast. These strange plant like beast had begun to ambush the party from three different angles!

Stealth roll
OOC With the spell having S,M,V requirements it means magical words must be spoken and without subtle spell that isn't the most stealthy thing. Somatic so besides touching herself (Touch a willing creature) she also has to do hand gestures matching the spells and the spell has Material requirements so her arcane focus would be used to make up for the cast. I'd say she does well in trying to make several gestures look natural but with so many steps her party members could reasonably deduce she casted a spell just not exactly the spell that was cast.
Oh it's just a simple plains map to help show the formation you guys are taking ^^
If the stealth roll beats you're passive perception you will be "Surprised" the first round.
If you're passive perception beats that stealth roll you will be granted a chance to hide against their passive perception. (Stealth roll) except for those on the frontlines.
Tala
Eclaire
Ram
If one of the three frontliners catch on to the stealth roll they can warn the rest of the party however serving as point. (Giving the party a perception roll instead of passive perception if they prefer)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC
I completely understand about the requirements for spell casting, she does have an arcane focus, that is the leather strap wrapped around her right hand. The rest of it is why she waited until the rest of the group was talking with each other in the hopes of hiding, or at least not making the rest of the spell casting noticeable.
And Subtle spell is great for doing this and I would never want to take away from that.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

So if I understood correctly, I can roll Stealth to hide because my passive perception (12) beats their Stealth and I'm not at the front? I will try to hide, then
