Almeric conducts a quick assessment of the Retinue. No one appears to be injured and all is in order.
"Well done everyone! Good work. The presence of 'Temple Guardian's is a very good sign that there is something inside to worth guarding. Let's fund the treasure!"
Almeric strides into the temple, to discover hat they may find.

Salt yips in suprise and Cainneach hops back from the remaining moon dog as Fergus' blast obliterates what was left of it. Seeing that Thatch, Ori, and Almeric seem to be uninjured, the only living hound and his master reunite amidst the rubble. Cainneach looks Salt over carefully while scratching the canine's chin to make certain that his faithful companion hadn't suffered any injuries in the melee. Satisfied that Salt is none the worse for wear, Cainneach slips the victorious dog a bit of jerky that he pulls from a small leather pouch on his belt. "That was very bold, ya nut! Thanks for looking out for Thatch, but let's have a quick chat about the plan next time, before ya just run off into danger!" With a final pat on Salt's head, Cainneach turns back to the group, recalls that there was a unicorn about, and quickly pivots to its previous location ... only to find nothing there?
As she passes by a certain lad in whatever reorganization may ensue, Famh whispers in his ear, "Oh, Cainneach, you were so brave! And where did you find time to teach Salt to sit like that?"
"Oh, what's that, Famh? Ha, right, thanks, and your magic was fantastic as well, but ... be honest with me, did I see you petting a unicorn or not? I would swear to it, for I didn't get hit in the head by one of those chunks of rock, but now the beast is gone. Oh, and Salt and I spent so much time together ranging over the Baron's lands, I'd look pretty bad if I hadn't at least got the hound to sit on command. Or when he wants to show off ..."Cainneach refrains from mentioning the unicorn to anyone else until he hears from Famh, lest he sound like a madman to anyone else in the party in case his eyes did deceive him.
He then tries to pull Salt over to Fergus to offer admiration for his impressive attack, but Salt remains reluctant to approach the scrivener. The hound growls and awkwardly pushes back against Cainneach's legs. "Salt, didn't you see Fergus helping protect Thatch and vanquish that other stone hound? I don't know what's going on with you and him, but he's on our side!", the forester whispers pleadingly. Salt relaxes slightly and ceases growling, but still eyes Fergus warily. Cainneach has to settle for a sheepish congratulations called out to Fergus from a few metres away.
The young ranger regards the door warily, adorned as it is with an eerie skull and moon. While relieved they had dispatched the apparent guardians of the temple with relative ease, it was a near certainty that greater dangers lurked within. And, of course, those dangers very likely start with some trap or enchantment upon said ominous doors. "I'm with you, Famh. Let you mystical folk work your 'spooky action at a distance' to try and pry those doors open. Better than putting poor Thatch in danger again so soon."
(And the obligatory look/listen/sniff around for danger ...) Cainneach: Perception7 Salt: Perception12
Thatch thanks Fergus and the others for coming to his aid and doesn’t forget Salt. He rewards the hound with another scratch behind his ears. As the others move toward the doors, Thatch pauses to inspect the piles of stone and rubble that used to form the statues, looking for any items among the debris. “What do you think made them spring to life like that? Some enchanted stone or other item?”He looks to Fergus and Famh, both more experienced in magic than he.
As Cainneach queries Famh about the unicorn she notes that it is no longer there and whisps of memory begin to unravel throughout the entire group until its presence is a half remembered haze at best....the memory holding longest in Tana and Cainneach and with Famh never truly fading.
Famh stares into the storm tossed skies even as she and Fergus work to open the ancient doors with their ephemeral grasps....
Famh:-
A voice sounds in Famhs mind, gruff yet gentle a primal masculine timbre with tones of admonishment and concern.
" Little Witch, I do not know how you pulled me here to this foul outpost so far from my home and wards but I would not do so again. I remain here...for now, though cloaked from all but you. If there is some need of me then speak it and I will aid you but know this I will not enter that nest of vipers and the very stones beneath my hooves reek of dark magics and wasted blood."
" I must away to my woods, there are glades that need tending, imps that need scolding and despoilers to destroy."
Cainneach finds no sign of traps here and Thatchs investigations reveal nought but shattered stone, the doors are wrenched open with a loud grind of shifting stone and Fergus and Famh breathe a little easier.
Sir Almeric strides boldly within as the others follow.
Within you enter a large hexagonal chamber, the roof of which is domed and glass-like. The floor is elaborately incised with spiral patterns enclosing circles of coloured stone. In the centre of the room a large slab is tilted up, revealing a staircase which winds downwards.
Beside the slab are three skeletal corpses. One wears scraps of ceremonial vestments and clutches an ebony- and-silver staff in its fingers.
Noticing score-marks on the floor, you infer that heavy fitments were ransacked from this chamber.
Fergus give a Famh a grin before nodding in appreciation to Cainneach. "It is OK, I did just help destroy an effigy of his kind. I understand the reservation." He gives Salt space to try and not upset the hound any more than he already has.
As Fergus walks by the crumbled statue to follow Sir Almeric, some of the dust rises and sticks to his skin, creating a layer of protection. He concentrates on the crystal he received from Myrrdin, he feels power restoring as his tongue mends completely.
"Glad you are safe Thatch. Let me see.." Fergus looks over the statues feeling for anything to resonate.

Famh's only answer, at first, to Cainneach's question about the unicorn is to stare over at the spot where he saw it. Her lips are moving as if she were speaking with someone, and the young ranger would swear he hears her whisper his name at one point in the conversation. Salt, too, is staring at the same spot, as if he can see what Famh sees. Eventually she sighs and turns back to them. She seems slightly flustered. "I'm sorry, Cainneach, I was ... distracted ... a wee bit. What did you ask again?"
On repeating his question, Cainneach is surprised by the rich blush that spreads over Famh's entire countenance, and as far down her neck as he dares to look.
"Well, you know what the tales say of unicorns, mo ghrà daor. Their ... virgin ... modesty. Primroseblossom is too shy to appear before such a crowd for more than a moment; and he says the temple's a nest of vipers and he'll not go in. He knows I like you, though, so I've asked him to put a good word on you." She seems not to imagine in the slightest that the name she has bestowed upon the unicorn is at all incongruous with his gender. A moment later, she steps forward along the left side until she is within 30 feet of the doors and brings forth her green-tinged faerie hand, ready to send it forth as soon as Fergus summons his hand to work on the other side's door.

Cainneach smiles vaguely at Famh while nodding, his left eyebrow raised in a quizzical expression. He had a lot of follow-up questions regarding her answer, including one about the unicorn's name, but this was not the time for that. The nest of vipers situation, metaphorical or otherwise, was the primary concern. After Famh and Fergus fling open the door to reveal the interior of the temple, Cainneach marvels at the details on the ceiling and floor, before fixing his gaze on the three corpses. He asks Salt how he's feeling about the place while cautiously approaching the defunct trio. Once within a range close enough to view some details of the vestments and staff, Cainneach attempts to identify any of the symbols or anything else he might recognize.

Following just behind Cainneach as the group enters, Famh finds her eyes drawn to the strange spiraling patterns on the floor. "It looks like a labyrinth . Or something darker. " She studies the scene intently, seeking any hint of what the patterns mean or clue how to safely proceed.

Fergus gets close to the bodies and squats down. He takes in the scene to see if he can discern how they died - natural, magical or violent.
He then hoovers a hand above the staff to try and get a sense of if it is magical, primarily if it was safe to hold. Not really being able to pick up on anything sinister, he takes it before standing.
Looking it over and glancing at the stairs "Should we head down? Standard formation?"
