Leaving the small abandoned camp site, you look for signs of life as you walk up the stream's bank towards where your friends begin to make a camp of their own. Here and there you see animal tracks like dear or even a bear, but what is odd is, quite often, those tracks seem to just end, like the animal that left them was just snatched away mid-step, sometimes leaving a smeared print or a splash of blood in their absence.
For the party:
Looking around, you find a nice patch of grass about fifty yards from the crumbling glacier with good lines of sight to the cracked cavern, the tunnel above it in the ice-wall, and most of the upper structure on top.
((From here I need to know two things: First, does your camp include a fire tonight? Second, do you have any plans for a watch order. If there is a watch, I just need to know who takes first watch. That person will need to let me know what they are doing during their watch and give me a Perception check as well.))

"The mongoose blew out its candle and was asleep in bed before the room went dark." —Llanowar fable
Gavin will take 2nd watch, he too stays alert by walking the perimeter. I say no to a fire, as 50 yds is too close. I will have light cantrip at the ready to cast into the middle of camp if necessary
The first hour of your watch goes by about as quiet as you can expect. As you make your rounds you note that the steam from the stream sort of makes an interesting sight in the light of the full-moon above. Every now and then you make sure to look up, just in case some giant flying beast is nearby, ever circling the camp and preparing its talons or teeth for a hunting dive. However, what catches your eyes this night are not the terrors of the sky, but the dangers of a more terrestrial nature. As you begin your next round, you spot a dark shape on the edge of the shadows, marked only by its hungry, reflective eyes. You stand transfixed as the shape grows nearer, the blackness that forms it getting larger and more defined as it approaches. As the clouds part to allow the moon's radiance to shine upon your camp once more, you see the figure revealed as a rather large wolf, easily twice the size of the wolves you noticed earlier running through the forest. Slowly, with your eyes to the beast, you begin to back away and reach for your weapon. Your retreat is halted however, as you hear the sounds of soft growls begin to rise at your rear. You spare a quick glance over your shoulder and see three more normal sized wolves closing in on your camp from the opposite side, their forms trailing the mists of the stream in their wake. 'Clever wolves....' you think to yourself and have just enough time to shout a warning before the massive one pounces.
((For the sake of time, I'll roll Thont's STR Save to not be knocked prone if this hits.))
Dire Wolf Bite vs. Thont's AC: 10, 7 piercing damage. Thont's DC 13 save: 6
For the party:
You are all rudely awakened by the sounds of Thont's alarm mixed with the sounds of growls and yips of the wolves that surround you. About ten feet from the edge of camp, Thont struggles with a massive wolf, almost appropriate for his size. About twenty feet out, three other wolves close in from the steamy mists of the stream-bed, fanning out to the other cardinal points to surround you.
((I'll need Initiative rolls from you all. Then I'll get a combat order established and we will get this going. To speed things up a little, I will be posting the stat blocks for both the Dire Wolf and its three Wolf companions. If you are using an attack that requires a saving throw, please roll the save for the monster you are attacking.))
((It's currently full-moon light with some clouds in the sky here and there that might obscure it at times. For the purposes of your current combat area, I'd say we are slightly above what would be considered 'Low Light.'))

"The mongoose blew out its candle and was asleep in bed before the room went dark." —Llanowar fable
As soon as Kathra hears the growling and Thont's shout of warning, she jumps up. Her axe does not seem to have left her hand, and, taking in the scene, a smile crosses her face. "Noble beasts! We will fight to the death!"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Gavin jumps up from his bed roll when he hears the alarm and scans the camp. He sees Thont engaged with the dire wolf and the trio of wolves on the other side. He yells “Tempus give your strength!” as he leaps into action.
He casts Spiritual Weapon as a bonus action above the dire wolf in the form of a flaming sword. Attack: 8 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
He then runs toward the three wolves to try and cut them off and swings his war hammer at the middle one. Attack: 10 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.

Downstream would be Thont's preference.
On the way he looks for signs of life near the stream. Tracks, etc.

Thont returns and shares what he saw. And I offer to take first watch.
My plan is to watch at four corners, rotating with a walking circle around the camp 20’ out every 15 minutes. Thont is methodical if nothing else.
Perception 22

Perception: 10
((Ruh Roh Raggy))
Kathra is definitely against a fire, and assuming the party does not get attacked during the first or second watches, takes third watch.
Perception: 14
((Oh you guys are totally getting attacked during the first watch. I'll have that post up when I get to work in a little bit.))
(( Excellent. Much like a Protoss Zealot, I LONG FOR COMBAT))
Haha Thont is ready!

((Great, as soon as Mirabel checks in, I'll roll for the wolves.))
Mirabel wakens with a lurch and a cry of "Son of a *****!" He then gets caught in his blanket and struggles mightily.

((And now for some wolves.))
Dire Wolf Initiative: 17
Wolf-Pack Initiative: 22
Okay, initiative order is as follows:
The three wolves will be noted based on where they are in relation to the party.
