For twenty years Astabar’s Manor sat abandoned, gaining notoriety as a cursed place of magic and danger. The good folk of Havehollow avoid it at all costs but at the behest of a beautiful and mysterious bard the characters venture forth to explore the home of the once great wizard.
story: You have few complaints this night as you rest in the common room of the Crooked Crow Inn. While winter has passed, the night air carries enough of a chill to make any hearth a welcome sight. The village of Havehollow is typical for this part of the realm. Livelihoods are made from farming and livestock with a few merchants and the Inn catering to travelers along the kingsroad. You are surrounded by good folk who know that hard work is what’s needed to make it through harsh times.
Brief backstory (why are you at the tavern): Reggie's often in taverns. Alone. Silent. Drinking heavily, but rarely drunk to the point of being out of control anymore. Those who try to engage him in conversation rarely succeed. When Reggie's hands aren't busy, he is usually lost in thought. When his hands are busy, he's a good fighter. Ambidextrous and hearty, those who employ him are rarely disappointed. His last job, which finished a day ago, took him south of Havehollow. Traveling back home north, he stopped to stay at the Crooked Crow Inn. He likes Havehollow. It reminds him of ... before.
Ramallo has devoted his studies to the arcane arts, specifically with the foretelling of events. In his adolescent years his mother, who was a minor wizard for their village that created magical potions, disappeared and is presumed dead after it was discovered that her batch of gaseous form potion exploded while she was working. This incident caused him to focus his studies on his current path of the divination arts, in the hopes of assisting others in avoiding such events. Ramallo has set out from his village searching for tomes of the arcane to assist his studies further. In his travels he can commonly be found in inns and taverns, plying his trade as a fortune teller and will give anyone a reading of the cards...for a small fee, as traveling the countryside does come with some cost. He has found his way to Havenhollow as the rumored Astabar’s Manor is believed to have many magical items leftover from its previous owner.
Having found her welcome worn thin in the last small town Alexia decided it was time to move on. Hearing that she was not far from a larger city to which she could ply her trade and maybe work a con or two. After a long two days of travel some time in the inn was just what she needs. maybe she can find a game of cards or something along those lines to refill some coin she spent on the room.
Ras never found comfort among his clan, preferring the solace that the wilderness provided him. That is where he befriended some local wood elf rangers who found the young Dragonborn curious and started teaching him the ways of the Ranger. He spends his time around Havehollow as a local guide when he's not scouting the surrounding woods keeping the residents livestock safe from wolves and other predators. The inn is a great place to find traveling patrons looking to hire someone of his skills.
Background & Why at tavern on this night: Qit being a tiefling and feeling judged his whole life, only recently left the the temple of residence. It was the only place where he felt his heritage of being a born of Infernal blood was not being used against him but his own personality.
Qit came to this town cause he felt a calling to it. He thinks its his newly found god that has lead him here to do something for him. He is not sure what Lathander wants him to do. He has already asked around if anyone needs help but has found nothing so far. He is sleeping here a few more days before he heads back to the temple.
Background: Growing up, Gralm was always a little different than most of the other bugbears in his tribe. They only cared about food and treasure. Gralm wanted to see the world and make friends. He left and confronted the captain of a near by city asking to join their ranks. He spent 6 years as a soldier and decided he was tired of just staying in the city. He never gt the time to travel that the Captain promised him. Gralm left the city and started traveling and eventually stopped at a tavern, Crooked Crow Inn, for some food and rest.
Backstory: Borg thinks of herself as the Champion of her Tribe, she is the only one to survive the combat with in the tribe and carries with her a little peice of a banner that belongs to her specific clan. She has mostly done caravan guard duty and helped escort people from place to place, if their gold is good then she usual has no problem guarding them unless they insult her or her clan she is generally able to say a few words to them. She has gotten used to the judging looks of other races who look down on her, prefering to drink rather than deal with the harsh words. Borg spends a lot of her time hanging around taverns drinking and waiting for someone to hire her.

Kres - Aarakocra Monk - Level 1 - Lost Mines of Phandelver
There’s nothing I like more than a good mystery. I am horribly, horribly awkward in social situations. Taverns are my best chance for meeting new people because I can blend in to the environment without much notice. On the odd chance someone would want to talk to me, the introduction of alcohol ,whether it’s me drinking to relax from my awkwardness or my new friend drinking, will hopefully hide my quirks. New to the wizarding craft, I very much want to see what the Astabar’s Manor might teach me.
Ideals: Knowledge. The path to power and self-improvement is through knowledge. (Neutral)
Bonds: I have an ancient text that holds terrible secrets that must not fall into the wrong hands.
Flaws: I overlook obvious solutions in favor of complicated ones.

One of the many children of the emperor of Kozakura, and nineteenth (and last) in line to the Empire. The daughter of one of the emperor's maidens, Kinuko was nonetheless one of his favored children for her beauty, discipline, charm and grace.
As she was never destined to reign, Kinuko turned instead to the arts. For hours on end, she spent her life in quiet solitude, crafting exquisite portraits of faraway lands and the numerous strange and colorful visitors to the Imperial palace.
It was not long before her skill with the brush drew the attention of the Emperor's personal guard captain, Sakurai Naomi. The princess's gift with the canvas translated naturally to the blade, and Naomi took Kinuko on as her personal protege.
And it was fortunate for Kinuko that she did.
Amid a period of rising political turmoil in the capital, Kinuko's uncle, the Shogun at the time, swept into the Imperial palace in the dead of night and slaughtered Kinuko's family, beginning with her father. One after another, her siblings were mercilessly butchered and their heads mounted on the walls of the palace.
Only the timely intervention of Naomi saved Kinuko's life. Fleeing the capital in the darkness, the guard captain spirited the princess away aboard a merchant vessel, arranging with her contacts in the Harpers in distant Faerun to receive and care for her.
Having slipped through Shou Lung, Kinuko crossed mountains, deserts and jungles alike, through the Hordelands, across Thay, before finally traversing the mighty Moon Sea into Faerun over a period of many months. Facing hardships she never had to endure before as a princess, Kinuko's body and spirit hardened with the distance, and she became determined more than ever to survive.
In the years since, Kinuko has made her way as far west as the coast of Faerun, rarely remaining in one place for long. She is unsure, to this day, what became of Naomi, or even if her friend is still alive.
Believing she may never be able to return home, the princess now makes her own way the best she can. She poses as a traveling noble from afar, masking the truth of her identity to avoid attracting undue attention to herself...
...for though she may have escaped her uncle's far-reaching might for the time being, Kinuko fears that the Shogun's search for her will not end until his reign is unquestionably secured.
Silverfist is a traveling monk, believing that the best way to help the world is by helping as much as he can in the world. So he travels from village to village, helping people with their troubles, especially if that means punching things in the face. He loves to go to taverns, because where else would be the best place to find people that need help?
Flinn has lived a quite and good life in the neighbouring village of Pinewood growing plants in his garden, working hard and helping where needed until last winter a pack of desperate and starving wolves decided to attack a farm on the edges of Pinewood. When they killed Henry Gusterson and moved in on his wife and baby child most villagers had already fled but something inside Flinn clicked and an uncontrollable anger about the unfairness of the situation drove him into a frenzy. He remembers grapping a nearby pitchfork and charging a the wolves. The next thing he remembers is spitting out wolf fur and standing on a pile of carcasses holding a broken and bloody pitchfork.
Right now the "Champion of Pinewood" is most likely retelling his tale about this fight to some commoners in the tavern and enjoying his meal and beverage. He joined a merchant delivering some goods from Pinewood to Havehallow to escape the growing attention but word of heroic tales travels fast in small communities. The common folk will surely point towards him as an ideal candidate. If that will be enough to convince the bard only the gods know. But as they say Tymora smiles on the little ones.
Thanks to every one who applied, I have made my decisions (on 5/11/18) keep an eye out for any new ones by me, one of my campaigns might be ending soon
