Lucian grimaces a little when Blinsky mentions that they might need the other items that were with the box. But...he's right. They will need those silvered weapons, sooner or later... Still, he can't help but scrunch his nose when Eithne picks up one of the daggers. For a moment, the metallic scent makes him want to gag...but he manages to maintain what he hopes is a not-to-uncomfortable looking expression. He glances about the room, wondering who else will decide to take something. He assumes that Nikolai will take the bolts, as they look like they'd fit on the crossbow. But who should get the last dagger? Chara doesn't want it... He glances at the others in the room. He thinks he trusts Bran. But this...Cole person seems a little odd. If Blinsky trusts him then...well he should be trustworthy right? Still, Lucian doesn't know him, so he doesn't really think he wants the guy to have one of the daggers...
"I... uh... well I'm better with my hands then I am with weapons," his puppet adds awkwardly. He almost suggests giving the bolts to Nikolai and the dagger to either Lenn or Bran...probably Bran as Lenn doesn't seem like the type of person to use a dagger...but decides that it would be better to keep his mouth shut.
"So, I was just thinking," her puppet says. "If Eithne and Lenn need silvered weapons, maybe we could sell the daggers to get Eithne's axe and Lenn's sword silvered...? Or perhaps we could sell the crossbow bolts, since I think all of us who prefer to fight at a distance are spellcasters...?"
- I was going to say that I could use the bolts, silvered or normal, if we come across any of these too. If we could get ourselves a light crossbow, that is. That way I could mix my magic and have a backup plan in case I cannot cast or the magic fails. The javelin Eithne gave me is good, but I think I would wield a light crossbow a little bit better. But your idea is a good one, too, Chara. We can do as you all prefer.
He stops for a second and adds:
- Hm, I will probably need to get myself some kind of leather armor, now that I think of it.
When Blinksy addresses him, a chain of thoughts inevitably come through Dubhs beak:
- ... Gods, they have to be safe. They have to. If something's happened to them I ...I... ****, again. Damned toy!
He breathes deeply before continuing:
- Sorry. Yes, my wife and daughter are missing. Or I'm missing to them, I don't know. We were just having our normal daily life in our home in Krezsk but, as said, this group found me buried alive in the graveyard where they were digging for that book. Far, very far from our home. I don't know what happened and I'm not even sure when it happened. For me it was a matter of going to bed one night and waking up in a coffin the next day, but - he looks at Eithne at this point for a second, doubtful of the timespan, before returning to Blinksy -I'm not sure anymore. Chara's familiar didn't find the persons responsible and concluded that I ought to have been magically buried. Ichabod also claims that ... some cloud of misfortune seems to surround me. But that's about what I can say. I don't know if Elia and Cassandra are still in Krezsk and only I disappeared, or if ... Gods help them ... they've been taken away, too.
When Bran mentions that he needs armor, Chara's puppet chimes in.
"Actually, Bran... I have a studded leather vest that I'm not going to need anymore. I recently learned a mystic invocation that has made it completely redundant, but I wasn't really thinking about it until you said you need armor. We might need to tailor it a little bit to fit you, but doing that should be a lot cheaper than getting a brand new vest."

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
- What a perfect timing for this to happen - the bard says - Sure, sounds like a great idea, Chara, thank you. One less item in the pile of tasks, I guess.
(With your permission, I've the studded leather to my equipment! AC 13 → AC 15, nice!)
"You're very welcome," the she-devil's puppet says, while the girl herself smiles warmly. "It's a win-win since you need armor and I won't have to carry it anymore. As for the weapons... I think that our best bet would be to sell the arrows to get the axe and the sword silvered. After all, we're a lot more likely to lose stray arrows than we are to lose an axe or a sword."
(I went ahead and removed the studded leather from Chara's inventory)
"What do you think, Blinsky?" asks Eithne through Vlad "Is it a bargain that could be accepted? And, more important, there is a weaponsmith here in Vallaki that could do it?"
Blinskyraises his hand and Sergei says, "It is possible. You might talk to Radulf, who works as a blacksmith for the town guard. But I imagine that it will take time, so you might not have your weapons available for the next mission. It is your decision."
Piccolopoints to Cole and says, "This quiet one comes to us from a source I trust, a dryad who oversees a quiet vale in the mountains, as yet untouched by Barovia's corruption due to her diligence. She has taught him her ways; I believe that you'll find him an effective companion."
The small howler monkey then turns his gaze back to Bran, "You say you disappeared from your house and it was just another normal day. But think back, did anything unusual happen at all? And you who found him. Was there really no trace or evidence at all of what might have happened?"
- Eithne, I can give you the javelin back if that helps in your decission. It will give better results in your hands than in mine.
Then he turns to Piccolo and shrugs helplessly:
- I really don't know what to add...- he stops for a second - ... well, except thatElia had been a bit off the previous days. But I assumed she was just a little tired. Taking care of Cassie can cause that, she a is very energetic little one - he gives a faint smile, remembering them.
Eithne has no doubts and Vlad promptly says: "It would be unwise, then, to go on the next mission without two of our best weapons. I'll simply keep the Greataxe as it is, for now, and keep the dagger for the opponents that require special treatment. I don't expect them to be that many... to date, my blade hasn't encountered any particular difficulties with any opponent! I expect to have to resort to the dagger only sporadically".
The savage stranger smiles to Bran, while Vlad conceeds: "You can keep it, until you find a more suitable weapon for you. I don't lack weapons" and Eithen shows a mace, as well as the silver dagger and the greataxe.
The last of the dusk elf maidens turns then to Piccolo/Van Ritchen and Vlad admits: "I can't really think of anything special... his grave was the only one freshly dug. I don't like that at all what happened to Bran, of course - it reminds me too much of what happened to me. But I don't know what to think, really - since I understand little even of what happened to me".
"And the holy water?" Eithne finally marvels, through Vlad "No one comes forward to take it? That too should be useful, in case of an emergency, right?"
Piccoloscratches his little chin, "We've heard rumors of children going missing, but nothing of people being taken from their homes and being buried alive. If that is all the information you have, we'll ask through our connections in order to see if we can learn anything more. The winery is near to Krezsk, so if Urwin does send you there, you might be able to stop by your home on your way there or back and check on your family."
(In response to Eithne's commentary about the lack of takers for the holy water)
"Well, it could be useful," Chara agrees. "If any of us can actually use it effectively... I don't know about the rest of you, but my throwing arm isn't exactly great, and I wouldn't want to waste something that precious..."
That and I might combust if I spill some on myself, the she-devil thinks with a mix of amusement and a bit of sadness. She doesn't really expect that the holy water would hurt her, since she has been empowered by a celestial being... but she would rather not find out the hard way if she's wrong.

"Oh, well..." reflects Eithne, while Vlad speaks her mind "If being good at throws is a deciding factor, then I guess I'll take one of the holy waters too... But the other one should definitely go to someone else; what if I get incapacitated for some reason? It is better if our special resources are shared".
Lucian glances at the remaining flask of holy water. Thoughts similar to Chara's run through his head, but ultimately he decides it might be beneficial for him to carry one of the flasks. Hesitantly, he moves to take it saying, "Uh...well, I guess my aim is alright. Though, if it comes to it, I'll probably be in close quarters with the enemy anyways... so, uh... I'll probably just be able to crush the flask if needed..." He hesitates, "Un...unless someone else wants it?"
Bran stays silent as the group decides who should carry what. He would offer to help, but he's at the the moment too deep in though about Piccolo's questions. When the monkey speaks again, his eyes rise to him and the bard comes back to reality. With a mix of words and caws, his puppet says:
- ... missing children ... - he shivers - I hate to even think about that. Though I'm still in the shadows, I'm actually glad that you've never heard of such a case as mine. I don't think I could find any kind of confort imagining someone else going through the same experience. In any case, Piccolo, Blinksy , you have my thanks. Let's hope your connections can shed some light here. And yes, with the winery in the vicinity, stopping by our home is a good idea. I won't deny I dread what I can find, but that's something I have to face.
He meditates for a moment before adding:
- I've been thinking. Although we all agreed that my grave was fresh, we were never entirely sure about "how fresh" it was and, in the hopes that clarifying this could prove useful, I could try asking Pom. He's the "instructor" I'm bound to. - he clarifies, unsure of how much Piccolo and Blinsky heard of his previous confession - I'm not talking about calling to him right now. I've never done such a thing and I'm not sure what would happen if I did. But knowing that he comes to me every time I practice by myself - whether I want him to or not - I might as well ask. I've played with him everyday since we were bound - except, of course, when I've been inside a coffin, and on our journey to Vallaki - so he may know how much time has passed since we last saw each other. Again, I dread what he may answer, but I prefer a bad answer than being a coward and not ask at all.
Bran then asks the group about how they will proceed:
- So, what do you think we should we do first? Investigate Izek or head to the winery? Than man Izek is here in Vallaki, right? Though my main interest leads to the winery I'll understand if we decide to check on Izek first.
- Regarding the weapons and holy water, this first distribution looks fine to me. We can always re-distribute again if it suits our needs later. Or even grab them directly from each other backpacks if things go south! Thought - he smiles faintly - hopefully we won't get to that.
Finally, he glances at Blinsky:
- By the way, Blinksy: could I perhaps disturb you for a notebook or a few pieces of paper? And a pen? I'll be needing it to write down some chords I have on my head. It's not all that critical, but it helps writing them down instead of relying solely on my memory.
"If Blinsky believes he's not in immediate danger, I'd leave the Izek investigation for later and help our other conspirator," Eithne suggests through Vlad. "His problem might be more pressing... maybe his business might suffer and he might end up ruined. Let's help him first!"
"Don't you forgot something, Eithne?" asks then Vlad unexpectedly, then more questions start overlapping even before the puppet has finished to ask the first one "You was not about to...? Didn't you want to...? ...Bran? ...Right? ...deserves it. ...better for him! We should..."
The savage stranger is taken by surprise, but afte a few moments she manages to get control over her thoughts again and Vlad replies for her: "Yes! Yes! I was getting there... Bran... I admire your decision to face the truth. I agree that not looking for answers would be cowardly. And you're not, not even a bit. Or you wouldn't be here now with us. So, as far as I'm concerned, just ask this Pom. And we'll take a look at Krezk at the earliest opportunity. Whatever you find… at least you won't be alone to face it".
- That logic seems sound to me - the bard replies to Eithne's suggestion, eyeing the rest - including the quiet newcomer - to check what they think of it.
He then laughs a little, when the savage woman's voices take over - Impatient, are they? - he jokes to lighten the moment.
Weirdly enough for someone who could be carrying a cloud of misfortune, now Bran felt a bit lucky. The road ahead seemed full of doubts and fears, but now he officially belonged to this group.
Sergei shakes his head, "No notes in the circle. No lingering evidence aside from our memories. After we are done, then I can spare you some writing material." Blinskylooks around, "Are we done?"
Piccoloalso looks around, "My friends, we've sent you into danger and we are pleased that most of you have made it back. Please take care of yourself moving forward."
Lucian glances around at his companions, "Uh... I don't have anything to add. So... I think we're done?"
He fidgets a little, then looks at Bran, "I...also think that asking Pom would be a good idea. Maybe he has some sort of clue as to what happened to you..." He trails off, the sudden thought that Pom could have been behind this incident pushing itself into his mind. ...he doesn't bring this up though, it it turns out that this invisible teacher did have something to do with it, then Bran will likely find out soon enough.
