After the event with the strange decaying corpse, Lenn helped Chara, he helped her stand and the touch of his hand on her forearm was warm and comforting.
( Yes, he used his lay on hands on her just in case ;) )
"I would rather try to reach the other end of the bridge, but if you all want to rest now.. lets get comfortable then..."Lenn says making up the camp and unfolding not only his blanket but the others, making a circle around the fire.
"Peace?" Lucian fingers his blanket, looking down at Juhowly. "Yeah, you're probably right." He shifts his gaze skyward, glancing up at the moon before diverting his gaze.
Chara is initially a little bit surprised by Lenn's touch... she expected that a vampire would feel cold. But she doesn't comment on this, she just sincerely thanks Lenn for his help.
At the bridge, Chara helps to set up however she can. She uses the Light cantrip on some rock or similar object to help whoever decides to keep watch, unless Eithne still has the one that Chara gave her earlier.
As night falls, she lays in her bedroll and looks up at the sky. She's having trouble sleeping, the image of the melting corpse seared into her memory and mingling with the other horrors that she's witnessed over the years. She sighs, stroking the wolf pup gently as she listens to Lucian and Eithne's conversation for a while. Eventually, she decides to get up and join them for a few minutes, cradling the puppy as she takes a seat next to the elves.
As Eithne receives a glowing rock from Chara again as an aid during her guard duty, she can't help but smile at her: "Thanks Chara! You seem really determined to bring some light into my life".
Later, when the she-devil gets up to join her and Lucian makes room for her, greeting her in a low voice so as not to wake everyone up: "Oh, have you decided to keep me company for a while, angel soul? Can't you sleep?"
Immediately afterwards the savage stranger is seized by a doubt: 'She didn't see me while... While I was calculating my chances of finding peace leaning over the bridge, right?' and is taken by deep embarrassment 'I really hope not...'
'It's not being seen that you should be ashamed of, Eithne…' points out one of her voices in her head '…but having thought about it!' 'Don't listen to her!' consoles her another 'It was only a moment, it won't happen again'. 'I think Chara didn't see you... I believe she is scared and perhaps wants to distract herself by talking to you!' 'Too bad we can't talk to her! She seems sooo more sociable than you Eithne!'
'Perhaps my sociability is slightly hindered by the intrusiveness of a clamoring army in my head...' manages to think the last of the dusk elf maidens, and then shifts her attention (with an effort comparable to the one she would make by shifting a boulder) on the friend sitting next to her.
Unable to discern anything aside from the initial sounds, Lucian hesitates... he could try using his wolf's senses. It was an ideal opportunity as they didn't seem to be in any immediate danger, he could meditate if needed...he could even meditate while using the senses.
Still, he won't try this unless no one else is able to detect whatever is making the sounds. He glances nervously from Eithne to Chara and back again, hoping that one of them is able to pick up on whatever this sound is.

(Oh, nice catch on Light, I thought it lasted until dispelled or cast on something else. I guess that, since she's up anyway, Chara might as well re-cast Light)
"It's... one of those nights," Chara says with a sad smile. "I've seen a lot of... well, unpleasant things, thanks to my father's dark dealings... and I guess what happened last night just brought a lot of things I've tried to forget back to the surface. I guess I just needed some company for a little while."
The she-devil sighs heavily, staring out into the darkness for a moment, stroking her puppy absent-mindedly. She didn't notice Eithne leaning over the side of the bridge, or if she did, she clearly didn't connect the dots about what Eithne was contemplating.
The strange sound suddenly catches Chara's attention.

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
"Of course we wake the others" tries to joke Eithne. "Else, what fun it will be, simply keeping watch while they sleep undisturbed?"
The savage stranger quickly wakes up everyone: "We heared something. Maybe we have visits".
She adds wood to the fire to make it brighter, then, with her greataxe ready, tries to spot something...
Whether she is successful or not, the last of the dusk elf maidens says: "Let's wait for them. The bridge is an open path. They must show themselves, if they want to reach us. No point in going to them where they are hiding".
"It's the only open path if they can't fly," Chara points out nervously, fluttering her wings to emphasize the point. "But it's still probably best for us to wait here rather than charge into the night to meet them..."
Chara places her pup in the cart so that she can focus on any enemy that decides to charge out of the darkness towards them. She whispers something soothing to the pup, giving him a gentle pat on the head before turning her attention back towards the sound in the distance.

While he grabs his greatsword he looks down briefly to his armor and sighs. He then gets ready near his companions, putting himself first between them and the source of the sounds.
"Horses..." says Eithne, interpreting ghe noises she hears "...and maybe mules. I can also kind of see them coming through the mists..." she watches intently "I see several figures on horses and mules, they must be a caravan, but it would be weird to travel so late at night. And the only group I know of with so many steeds is the Vistani. According to some rumors, they are in league with Strahd. So be careful what we say"
The savage stranger steps a bit aside, to allow the caravan to pass, ready to greet the newcomers if they mean no harm... or to put her greataxe to good use otherwise.
Hearing that there is only a passing caravan Lenn relaxes a little bit and lowers his weapon, taking a couple of steps back to allow his more greetable companions to talk to the strangers while covering himself in shadows so his pale skin is not so recognizable.
"A caravan?" Lucian peers into the mists, still finding it difficult to see the oncoming riders. "Uh...I'll just, let you all do the talking..." He moves to stand beside the cart, placing himself between it and the side of the bridge. He glances briefly at Chara, "Do you... want to be in the cart when they come by or..." He holds up his blanket, "Do you think using a blanket will be enough since its dark out?"
"I should probably bundle up in the cart," Chara replies, letting herself relax a little bit. "I would rather not attract too much attention, and I doubt that seeing a demon among us would make our fellow travelers especially inclined to be trusting."

As Eithne, Lucian, and Chara are keeping watch and the others rest, they hear...something...south of the bridge.

Nikolai laughs and turns in a circle in his colorful garb. "Well this Vistani certainly isn't in cahoots with that fiend."
