Prim orders a wine.  "Well, why is because when I was 7 a force of goblinoids came to New Burgundy.  The warriors & Wizards fought them, the clerics healed people, but it was still the first time I'd seen corpses."  She looks wistful.  "I saw war dead before I ever saw a pet die."

"It got me thinking.  "Wouldn't it be better if more people could heal?"  And turning necromancy to healing seemed the logical way to do that."

Prim, tuition and fees to the University come to 500 gp. Books are around 100 gp, or you can borrow from the library after paying tuition. And, yes, you can use the hobgoblin's spellbook as a spare, but it has room for only ten spells. Room and board at the University Inn Is about 5 sp per day for students, 8 sp for guests.

Orion and Taxidea, room and board at the Swan Inn will be about 1 gp per day. This includes meals and a couple of drinks at the pub.

Taxidea, where are you keeping Thor?

If possible I'll keep Thor at the FDF stables.

UNLESS the tuition is counted as the spell research cost.  IE the amount she spent on learning the spells for this level (fly, lightning and Identify,  350 gp) & the Vampiric Touch she wants (150 gp) are included in the 500

Orion says, "I'd be interested to see what you do with the goblin skeletons.  I can't imagine what good they would be." He pulls out his new dagger and admires the fine workmanship. "When should we plan on leaving?"

"Well, there's no good necromantic ranged attack at first level.  I figure that the traces of necromantic energy left in the remains of Shattered animated skeletons would be suitable to make a "Magic Missile" type necromantic attack using sharp bone shards.  So I wanted to go animate a couple of skeletons and I thought you might enjoy shattering them with blunt weapons.  Then I'll have material for spell research.

I can shatter them myself if you have moral objections, but would appreciate it if you came along in case any gangs of gobs were still around.

By the way.  Do you think we should sell the gems & split the money, or just divide the gems?"

Much easier to sell the gems and divide the cash.

"And the Wyvern claws & fangs?  Anyone want a Wyvern claw Dagger or shortsword?  Probably no special damage but might look cool.  And if no one objects, I'd like to see if the stinger can be turned into a Dagger of venom.  Otherwise, maybe we could get something for them."

(OOC: how many teeth did we get?  Just the two fangs, or a mouthfull?)

Taxidea just shrugs his shoulders.  "I'm good with selling the gems and splitting the profits.  I wouldn't mind having a claw - probably make a cool necklace and I could use it for a spell focus. I mean this glass eye I've got works well enough."  He chuckles.  "That guy probably misses it...but it's not like he's getting it back."

Prim, the University tuition gives you access to the library and instructors but does not include the cost of fine inks and spell components; therefore, you will have to spend another 500 gp for spell research. And the hobgoblin's spell book can hold ten more spells. Also, you were able to extract a total of six teeth from the wyvern's mouth.

Taxidea, how often will you be checking on Thor at the FDF stables?

Orion, you are able to find a jeweler who is willing to pay you 150 gp for all the gems.

Orion, admiring his new dagger, "I don't think I have any use for the wyvern pieces, thanks."

Taxidea would be going to check on Thor as much as possible - at least once a day - and taking him to exercise him as well.

Taxidea, on the second day when you went to check on Thor some sort of commotion happened at the FDF HQ. You see several people come running out of the building chased by goblins and a hobgoblin. What do you do?

Orion, are you with Taxidea when he checks on Thor?

Yes, Orion is with Taxi.  Also, he took a wyvern claw from Prim and said, "The Wyvern Wranglers it is."

Orion will cast Hail of Thorns (Bonus action) on the hobgoblin, and take two shots at the hob:

Shot 1: 17 to hit; 9 damage

Shot 2: 28 to hit; 8 damage

Hail of Thorns (on every creature within five feet of the Hobgoblin, including Hobgoblin) 13

Taxidea casts Fire Bolt at 2 of the Goblins (twinning the spell with metamagic).

Bolt 1:  Attack: 8 Damage: 15

Bolt 2:  Attack: 7 Damage: 15

(OOC: In post 1619 Prim was going to try her relatives, the University inn while she checked tuition, then the FDF barracks for lodging.  

So she could be nearby, since registration was a bust.)

Prim, if you are at the FDF HQ barracks, at about the same time that Taxidea and Orion attack the goblins, you hear a loud commotion in the hall. "To arms! To arms!" a soldier yells as he runs through the hall banging on doors. "We are being invaded!" Several people come out of their rooms with weapons in hand and race down the hall towards the commotion.

Taxidea, you drop one goblin and severely wound another.

Orion, you take down the hobgoblin with your first shot, and several goblins are wounded by your hail of thorns.

(OOC: Prim, I am confused. Were you able to pay the 500 gp for tuition to the University or not?)

(OOC:  it sounded like the tuition wouldn't leave much for actual spell research - new spells- so Prim got the spells, planning to get the tuition, or try Strixhaven or Nick, later.  Remember, she'd payed for the horses herself, over 300gp, so not much of the payment from the first adventure was left.  Which reminds me that she'd stable Beauty with the FDF & Visit her for grooming & treats daily

And since she no longer needed the University inn, she'd have stopped by the FDF to talk about lodging & storage)
