Katryl's flame connects but steams off almost immediately, again not doing as much as she might have hoped, and noting that the weird seems particularly difficult to get a read on. (Insight unsuccesful)
Unfortunately, Eldeth's shots fail to find their mark on the slippery entity.
The weird then lashes out at Ebzer and smashes him in a watery grip! (20 to hit, 12 bludgeoning damage and if hits Ebzer is grappled, pulled next to the weird and about to be yanked off the platform and into the waters below! (Escape DC 13)
Khessa was just thinking of exploiting her increased size to make the problematic monster fall hard to the ground, when she realizes that the monster wants to drag Ebzer in turn... probably to drown him in the water!
The blonde arcane warrior opens her blue eyes wide in horror at the thought and tries, more and more convinced, to make the monster fall from his 'wave' of water to the ground, on the other side of the passage, the one not facing the water: 'It is my best bet...' she thinks 'falling, this creature might lose its grip on Ebzer - and even if it didn't, at least Ebzer would fall on the ground and not drown!'
"If you really want company so badly, Mr Liquid Host..." the tall adventuress growls at the monster, grabbing it and suddenly pulling with all her strength "why invite us to you... when you can very well come to us?!"
(Correct. Khessa, what are you grabbing onto? The weird or Ebzer?)
Khessa was grabbing onto the weird (she is guessing that if the weird is solid enough to grab a person, then a proper sized person should be able to grab the weird - technically, however, Khessa's move would be like a Shove - only pulling instead of pushing - the blonde arcane warrior does not aim so much to keep the monster still, as to make it fall on the stone).
You go to grab the weird and yank it over, but being made of water, it is to difficult to get a proper hold onto and it merely slips through your fingerss.

(OOC: Well... I have a hard time imagining the thing solid enough to pull us... but, at the same time, not solid enough to be pulled by us - anyway ok, taking your word for it. Noticing this, Khessa falls back pulling Ebzer. The monster can still lose balance and fall, I hope - and if not, at least the dwarf will be freed. Using Action Surge to do this, if you rule that Khessa wasted her normal action with her previous attempt).
(Here's the thing, weirds are immune to both being grappled and being prone, so what I will do is say you have a hold of Ebzer, and allow him advantage on his escape roll next turn, assuming nothing else happens of substance before then.)

(So be it - well, at least the thing will not be able to pull him in the water and drown him, I hope! Anyway, Traydark up)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The noble drow snarls again as the duergar is pulled into the water, and he unleashes another purple beam of eldritch crackling force against the large watery creature.
Another solid hit from the drow but the weird continues to hold on to Ebzer for now, inching closer to the edge of the platform in a terrible tug of war!
The duergar does not relish his position in this game of tug o' war, and struggles mightily to break free. "Ye'll not drag me down, ye damp demon! Release me, puddle o' piss, afore I hafta boil ye away ta nothin!" Then, just for clarification, he looks at Khessa. "Was talkin' to the weird, not you. In case ye were wonderin'"

"I imagined!" Khessa takes the time to wink "I don't see how you could 'boil me away ta nothin'..."
(OOC: You can have Silas also act, since it is your NPC...)
While Katryl's attacks find their mark again, they still don't seem too effective. (including Insightful Fighting)
Eldeth seems a little weirded out by the weird and misses her shots!
The weird sloshes at Ebzer again, but this time having already pulled him toward the edge the first time, yanks him off the ramp and down into the pool below!
(OOC: Darn... @DM: Is the weird in melee range still? Or is it in water with Ebzer now? And can it be distinguished from common water? Can we target it?)

Silas counts rosary beads as he chants a curse at the elemental.
(DC 13 WIS save else 5 necrotic damage)
The weird burbles angrily as the necrosis pulses through!

Katryl will again create a flame in her palm then throw it at the watery creature.

(No the weird is now in the water, 30 ft down, and is considered invisible in the water. You can see Ebzer though in the murky waters)
