"Mr Liquid Host is a real 4sshole!" Khessa rages, between clenched teeth, fearing for the fate of her Duergar friend held under water - and she hurls a bolt of fire near Ebzer, hoping to hit the monster.
Although the attack is successful, Khessa realizes that she has only had a stroke of luck (OOC: rolled 16 and 17 for the disadvantage attack...) and tries to ask the noble drow, with deep concern in her blue eyes: "Traydark... That spell that outlines the silhouette of the enemies… do you think it could help us distinguish the monster in the water? You know, if we simply shoot at random, we risk to miss most of the attacks... Ebzer might drown in the meantime..."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The noble drow simply shakes his head, having already expended this particular drow magic to assist in the takedown of the rampaging stone giant only hours ago. He then unleashes another purple beam of eldritch crackling force against the large watery creature.
With those final attacks getting some lucky strikes (better lucky than good, right?) the waters below begin to calm and the grip around Ebzer loosens as the weird sinks into the depths.
"We're ready to proceed up here as soon as you finished your bath duergar, not that I mind you at least temporarily taking care of that reeking smell we have put up with."The noble drow calls down to Ebzer with a grin, all in an evil-natured banter tone.
Rejoicing at the unexpected success, Khessa embraces the noble drow with enthusiasm: "Wow! We did it! Mr Liquid Host believed that playing hide and seek was enough for him, but we showed him how wrong he was! Well done, Traydark!"
Immediately afterwards, while the warlock taunts the barbarian, the blonde arcane warrior takes her hempen rope out of her backpack and throws it at Ebzer to help him out of the water: "Hold on this, rocky one! I'll help you out!"
'Now that we saved him from the animated water... I definitely won't let him drown in ordinary water!' thinks the tall adventuress.
When you all are ready to move on, the path continues to rise another 30 feet before flattening out and then splitting at an intersection--left or right.
Ebzer surfaces, sputtering and coughing, and gratefully grabs hold of the rope. Stagnant cave-water dripping from his beard, he mournfully says, "Thank ye all. That were... unpleasant."

(OOC: Lol!)
"Guess so!" Khessa exclaims, relieved that in any case the fight ended without anyone drowning "So many times, during our interminable wanderings along these tunnels, I've missed the relaxation of a full bath... but certainly not a bath in waters so filthy... and poorly frequented to boot!"
"Come on, use this, dry yourself..." the blonde arcane warrior hands the dwarf a clean handkerchief... which, given its increased size, can now probably serve the dwarf as a towel. She takes care to maintain contact with the handkerchief-towel, while the dwarf uses it, because she fears that otherwise the dimensions of the object could return to the original ones.
Heading further down the tunnel to the left, it begins to make a slow arc back to the right before a branch suddenly juts off to the left, amid a thick grove of fungi, including more of the incredible growing and shrinking varieties.
Mindful of what had happened in a previous similar circumstance, Khessa comments, remaining at a certain distance from the thicket: "I want to check if this forest of mushrooms, like the one before, hosts swarms. If swarms come out, let's remember the tactic we used last time: we are faster, so let's keep distance and simply destroy them with arrows or spells".
That said, the blonde arcane warrior tries to shoot some mote of fire at the mushrooms, while her faithful butler starts moving mushrooms around... in order to disturb eventual 'inhabitants'.
Something happens? Do swarms come out? Or does the mushroom forest seem uninhabited this time?

Attack with bolt of fire (at disadvantage, since can't see the enemy): 13 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll. (fire)

OK, if no one has reason to prefer otherwise, Khessa suggests left.
Presuming Ebzer has been saved from drowning, Katryl continues on along the path to the intersection. "Sure, left is fine," she says.

The noble drow nods in agreement, having no real opinion on where to head next as long as this exploration is dealt with reasonably swiftly.

Perception: 12
(OOC: The others too? Or only Khessa can perceive the... thing you asked the roll for?)
(Sure the others can roll if they wish.)
You don't see anything unusual, though again the fire doesn't do too much to the fungi.
