Katryl and Eldeth notice that behind the small forest of fungi, there is a large zurkhwood door, but there is no evidence of handle or keyhole suggesting that it is probably opened from the other side usually.

Well... if there are no obvious dangers (apart from possible enemies or traps behind the door) Khessa sighs, addressing all the members of the party: "The last experience of trying to knock on a closed door was a failure.. . what do you say? Shall we try to break through it directly, this time? I'm still big... if we want to take advantage of it... Or do you prefer that we try a different branch?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Knocking it down is an option, but maybe we could at least try to do it quietly?" Katryl asks Khessa. She doesn't wait for an answer, advancing forward towards where she can see the door. She takes out her Thieves' Tools to see if she can do anything to get it to open. (DEX Check w/Thieves' Tools: 26)
Seeing her effort was futile, Katryl shrugs and looks at Khessa. "Fine. Do your best to break it down." She backs up from the door - way back - willing to let everyone else rush in first.

(OOC: @DM: You are really evil ruling that such an awesome roll was wasted!!!)
"Let's see how this develops"Khessa shrugs, a little disappointed: she had liked the fire genasi friend's idea... But of course nor even the best lockpicker can pick a lock that isn"t there.
The blonde arcane warrior takes a short run snd starts kicking the door...
A strong charge smashes the door down, opening up to a long narrow tunnel, the boom of the door being bashed in reverberating loudly down the corridor.
After a steady upward climb, the tunnel opens into a huge, well-lit chamber. The glow of faerzress and bioluminescent fungi compete with shafts of white light that fall upon naturally formed shelves along the walls as well as a rocky mesa at the center of the cavern. Crudely formed ramps connect the different levels of the mesa up to the height of its two topmost tiers, which are linked by a sturdy bridge. Atop one of those tiers sits a large red egg. Atop the other stands a 50-foot-tall obelisk made of smooth black metal with a few noticeable imperfections, as though small parts of it were somehow chipped away.
A female derro stands close to the obelisk, gently patting and stroking its surface. The obelisk flashes once, the glow of faerzress around the cavern flaring in response. The derro squeals with glee as she snatches an object up from the ground, then writes something down in a small notebook.
"Well, at least she is simply taking notes..." murmurs Khessa "Maybe this time the encounter will not turn into a battle for life and death? Traydark, dear... you are our undisputed diplomacy expert... Would you like to try and have a chat? Maybe the female derro knows something useful..."
The noble drow simply shakes his head. "It is a derro." He mutters quietly as if nothing else is needed to be said to understand any negotiations with this mad species would be futile. "I doubt there will be any point in even taking her alive." He adds, taking cover, ready to assault the derro with his eldritch magic as soon as the others are.
Unfortunately, due to your crashing your way in earlier, the savant seems to perk an eye in your direction, giving a slight nod as a spectator drifts into view from above, screaming and screeching in morbid glee as it sees new prey enter its lair!

Round 1
Ebzer will hold his action with a trigger of spectator or derro coming within melee range. (Axe Attack: 18 Damage: 6 slashing)
Silas, still desperately clinging to his last lonely spell slot, will attempt another toll the dead on the flying menace. (DC 13 WIS Save else 1necrotic, or 2 if previously injured.

"What the..." Khessa exclaims, both annoyed that her hopes for a peaceful meeting were so quickly dashed, and amazed to again encounter a floating spherical-bodied creature "It's Mr Big Ball Cloned! Well," a light of determination lights up in the depth of her blue eyes "but this time..."
In the time it took her to wonder and formulate a strategy, however, the others had time to start hostilities!
(OOC: I'll post Khessa's action when it's her turn)

Katryl steps through the door only far enough to catch a glimpse of the screeching attacker. She studies the Spectator (Insightful Fighting - Insight: 5 vs target Deception) then aims her Shortbow at the creature. (Shortbow Attack: 9 Damage: 4) (Sneak Attack damage if Insightful Fighting successful and attack hits: 3)
Eldeth is right behind Katryl, readying her Longbow and also firing at the Spectator. (Longbow Attack: 11 Damage: 8) (Longbow Attack: 9 Damage: 3)
The purple eyes of the noble drow briefly goes wide as he sees the spectator emerge, but he reacts swiftly by placing his hex on it and then unleashing a purple beam of eldritch crackling force against it.
Eldritch Blast: 18 Another roll if stealth roll of 16 beats passsive perception of the spectator: 8 Force: 7 Necrotic: 1
Katryl's shot punctures the flying creep and it yowls curses about her mother! It is a strange creature though and feels hard to predict. (Insightful Fighting failed)
Eldeth also manages to connect with her first arrow! The spectator sticks its tongue back out at her.
Unfortunately it is still hovering a ways off and not coming into melee range yet for Ebzer. Silas's spell only seems to annoy the ugly creature. (It saved the WIS throw).
Traydark's blast smashes into the flying monster although it seems keenly aware of where you all are. (Unless you retreat back more than 60ft there is no full cover here. You are in an open chamber on a slight ramp heading toward the mesas. The spectator and derro can both see down into the tunnel where you came in from. But if you'd like to move that far back that's fine with me.)
The derro continues shouting crass obscenities at you all while yelling for the spectator to deal with you miserable miscreants. (her words, not mine :P)
The spectator then turns it's eyes towards the group!
-- Khessa make a wisdom saving throw
-- Traydark make a constitution saving throw

Strength check: 12 (another +2 id it's Athletics instead of Strength)
"I must be more tired than I thought" admits Khessa, as the door resists. "Want to give a try, Ebzer?"
...and she helps him, if he agrees (OOC: so you too can try with advantage).
