Lulu, storyteller that she is, tells the tales of their recent encounters and tribulations. She describes to the Keeper all that transpired in Mantol Derith, as well as their brush with Juiblex.
When Katryl approaches to asks about their next steps, Lulu nods in agreement. “Aye, that seems more than sensible, love.” She then adds to Urmas, “Keeper, I ken it’s a wee chance, but do ye have anything written regarding the Present activities of the other dark Lords? Or of the drow’s spider Goddess?”
((Would the Keeper have answered Lu’s question about time in the library?))
"There is no mention of Lolth, but there are reports of several other demon lords roaming about. I fill the archives as I get word of things happening, but if you wish to attempt to see what is happening at this very moment, use the crystal."
(Time passes normally here, the library just "remembers" its visitors across time. You will not accidentally walk out 30 years later or anything like that.)
"We'll have ourselves a bit of reading after the crystal then. Limited as its uses are, the reports will be a helpful supplement, thank ye," Lulu says to the Keeper, then turns to Katryl.
"Ready to peep on some lords o' the abyss, Kat?" she asks, lips curling ever-so-slightly at one corner as she tries out the nickname.
Katryl gives the firbolg a slight smile as she uses the knickname. But mostly she looks nervous about trying to use the crystal. "I'll give it a try. Starting the Jubilex today." She then holds the crystal in both her hands and tries to concentrate on seeing the current activities of Jubilex.
A deep gnome spurned by others of his kind weeps as he wanders the dark tunnels, talking to the things that crawl and seep from the walls. You see him adopt two slick patches of ooze, sensing his innate power over them. He plays with them as if they were children, chasing them through the gloomy depths.
Something changes, and the oozes flow away. The deep gnome runs after them, fearful of being alone once again. You feel a great hunger seize him. He experiences visions that pass into your vision, showing what appears as a paradise to him but an oozing nightmare for all others.
The great hunger speaks to him, his already broken mind a shield against the hunger’s shattering power. That power seems to recognize and acknowledge something in the gnome that will serve it well. The great hunger has a name — Juiblex. And its power . . . oh, such great and terrible power! It grants the gnome the ability to command the little hungers — his children — so that they can return to the place that cast them out and devour it all!
Lulu cocks her head to one side, confused. "The former would make sense, but... is it no' supposed to be the present? That feels a might bit more like the past." She takes a deep breath, "If it were about that pudding lad then..." then exhales sadly with a shake of her head, wishing there were more she could've done for him. The tragedy of a person in need of help and kindness being taken advantage of sits heavy on her heart.
"Anyways, look at ye, lass," she nods her head down at the crystal, her tone impressed and lightly teasing. "'Don't really ken about magic,' she said." The cleric's crescent scar puckers as her eyes crinkle with a smile before she asks, "'spose we should seek out the others? Let them ken what ye saw and see if they've had more luck?"
Katryl gives Lulu a skeptical look, though her skin and orange tendrils of hair glow a bit diffusely for a moment. "Lunaria, I may have used the crystal. But I'm still not sure I know a thing about magic! Frankly, I'm confused about whatever information or vision or whatever I just got too!" She considers again what she saw. "Whether it was Pudding King or a new threat, it is rather sad about that gnome. Yea, we should find the others. You want to lead the way again?"
Lulu’s lips purse against a grin at Katryl’s protestations, head tilted in admiration of her glowing locks, before she reaches out a gentle hand. “May I?” she asks and, with permission, brushes a bit of hair from the genasi’s face.
Then, with her thumb and a featherlight touch, she traces the shape of a crescent moon on Katryl’s forehead. The symbol glows briefly before fading and Katryl might suddenly feel far more confident in her abilities. ”I’ll follow you.”
After thanking Urmas in Giant for his help, Lulu does indeed follow Katryl wherever next they head.
((Katryl can roll her WIS check with advantage! I think I remember DM saying we can’t Help with these ones.))
Katryl smiles at the firbolg, the glow increasing for just a moment as she lightly traces the crescent. "Ok then. It's on you if we get lost!" she says playfully. "Let's go find those other three." And she focuses and locating Traydark, Khessa, and Horkas as she walks along with Lunaria.
Katryl and Lulu begin walking back to find their companions, when a striking form suddenly crosses their path, floating almost effortlessly across the pathway, the tall, grey-skinned creature with tentacles for a mouth almost and dark red eyes glides toward the two you!
As the other three--Traydark, Horkas, Khessa-- go about their business in the library, soon they too are met with a slightly odd sight: a sickly looking drow, walking around blindly, for it appears they are actually blind.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The noble Drow steps closer, trying to spot any house insignias or similar markings of allegiance on his kin. "Greetings, who are you and what brings you to Gravenhollow?"Traydark asks with a courteous and polite tone.

Khessa, despite not knowing the drow - and knowing that most drow are not usually animated by good intentions - is moved by the other's plight...
"Are you the victim of an illness?" she adds, in a worried voice, after Traydark's questions, coming to the side of the noble drow "Maybe someone here could cure you..."
"Someone there? I've been wandering...there has to be a cure here somewhere, right?...I am Jalynfein Oblodra...I can't see...I will make them pay!" He continues wandering off, a mild shimmer around his form. "No answers...there must be!..."
Traydark:
When he mentions his name you almost immediately recall that House Oblodra was all but wiped out years ago. This must be one desperate survivor, or was anyway.
"It will be the usual echo of the past" Khessa sighs, a little disappointed "like the black dragon, Elminster and who knows what else".
"At this point, I'm also having doubts about Vizeran..." a shadow of concern veils the blue eyes of the blonde arcane warrior "I hope that at least he was real, like us... or he won't be able to help us much".
"Yes, the best of luck with your endeavour." The noble Drow says a bit dryly and moves on. "Echo from the past or not, house Oblodra is not to be trifled with, corrupted even by drow standards, had dealings of sinister sorts with the nefarious ilithids." He says quietly to Khessa and Horkas as they move on. "I sincerely believe Vizeran DeVir is not an echo though, but we will of course find out once we are finished with our research here." He continues as he moves on to find Katryl and Lunaria.
Katryl pauses in her walking as she spots the floating creature. In a lowered voice she speaks to Lulu. "You suppose we're safe from that thing in here?"
In a louder voice she addresses the thing. "Hello. What are you doing here?" She does stay easy though, uncertain if this might be some dangerous creature that has wandered into this place.
"It may be one of those echoes the Keeper spoke of," she replies.
And though she appears wholly relaxed and unbothered by this figure's appearance, she does take a half step in front of Katryl, ever-so-slightly shielding the other woman. As many folk as she has seen in the Wilds, of all ilk and appearance, she's never seen anyone like this before.
((Can Lulu tell if it's an echo/illusion or if the figure is really there? Perception/Arcana if needed (though happy to roll something else if those don't fit!): 11+7 18 or 11-1 10 lol))
The odd figure quivers almost with a shimmer, "I have my reasons...why are you here? I do not recall...though something about you seems...almost familiar." The voice hisses in your minds but doesn't seem menacing.
