Khessa congratulates everyone once again, almost struggling to believe that the heroes and the army managed to put such a threatening adversary to flight without suffering any losses: "Very well fought!"
"We might follow the escaping worm..." the blonde arcane warrior then proposes "It will be returning to its lair. Where perhaps it has some eggs. If it has escaped, it means that its life is in danger... It could continue to escape and let us take the eggs. And if it decides to try to attack us again, we have a good chance of killing it".
"What do you think?" she turns her blue, questioning eyes, in turn, on Katryl, Traydark, Lulu, Horkas...
"Follow the worm down that steep drop?" Katryl asks as she gets closer to where the thing burrowed down into the ground. "What's to say it's not just planning on circling back on us? We did not defeat it, though we did wound it I'd think." She considers the situation. "We could get ropes and try to make it a bit safer to traverse. No telling what will happen to the tunnel further along. I'm ok to try it though if you think it will lead to the eggs we need."
"Your plan has some merit human, but I'll have to agree with the fire genasi, traversing vertical shafts could put us in quite vulnerable situations, I think we should stay on the forward horizontal path for now."The noble Drow says, looking between the others as he has casted his vote. Meanwhile both Grax'xt and the earth elemental servant scouts for purple worms and other threats.
"Yeah - the lizard mounts can make it, but the rest of the group would be at a significant disadvantage. We must continue on our current path. Too bad - hate to let a wounded critter get away to heal up and come back later! But things are what they are, not what you wish them to be." For a gnome, Horkas actually sounds wise =)
Khessa has an unconvinced look as she thinks: 'Yes, great! I know it will be safer to stay at this level... but do we really think it's easier to find purple worm eggs... by not following a purple worm, rather than by following it?'
The blonde arcane warrior however accepts the majority's verdict: "Fine, as you wish. We'll stay at this level and hope to encounter an unattended nursery without running into other purple worms. I'm skeptical, I say it frankly... but I'll be very happy" she smiles, striving to be optimistic "if the facts prove me wrong!"
The tall adventurer gathers the Gauntlet Infantry again to put herself in the vanguard, to defend the rest of the party and the army, and is ready to continue.
Hannae, like most others, is none the worse for the wear, but also anxious to get on, both to possibly find her mother, or leave the tunnels altogether.
Collecting yourselves you press on for another half day, everyone perhaps a little on edge now, both wary of danger and perhaps a little bit of excitement. But as the immediate danger from the worm attack wears off, as you make your way through a long tunnel, everything around you begins to shake and rumble. Suddenly, the tunnel floor gives way at your feet.
Everyone make a DC 15 Dex save. On a failure you fall 20 feet into a cavern below, on a success you manage to keep your footing.

"Olaf, I understand that you probably want to protect me so much that you stay close to me all the time, but, well, just for your information, you don't need to go so far as to throw yourself into the same holes I fall into..." the blonde arcane warrior jokes, while they both they glide slowly to the ground.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

The artificer and his mount fail to jump out of the way of the collapsing floor, and he reflexively activates his anti-gravity device, slowing his, Skitter's, and up to three others' descent. They still fall rapidly, but not so fast that they would be hurt when they reach the ground below.

[[ OOC: So, all those who failed their save can be saved - Khessa can still save the scout 1 + scout 2 and Horkas the 3 Zhentarim.
We should all reach the ground safe and sound. ]]
Khessa looks around and, sighing with relief at seeing everyone land unharmed, pats Horkas on the shoulder: "Well done, my friend! I alone could never have saved everyone! Our teamwork continues to work wonderfully!"
"Well, wingless flight lesson is over for today, bad4sses!" the blonde arcane warrior, although joking, tries to tighten the formation of the Gauntlet Infantry again, positioning herself together with them at the vanguard "Time to resume our noble role as meatshields!"
[[ OOC: those who have succeeded in the Saving Throw have no problem reaching us down, I imagine, considering that, if necessary, the Lizards can shuttle back and forth, allowing all to descend by riding them ]]
Once the group is reunited, the tall adventurer turns her blue eyes to Katryl: "There's a good chance that this collapse, like the previous one, was caused by a purple worm. So, I don't know how you want to proceed, regarding the scouts... Do you prefer send them forward anyway, so they can detect threats before us? Or given the situation do you feel safer keeping them here with us?”
Relieved no one is injured, Lulu thanks their resident arcane intellectuals as she checks over her mount. As she's fixing the saddle she fell out of, the cleric peers around the darkness of the cavern for anything out of the ordinary--for either interest or potential danger.
Katryl had deftly avoided falling when the floor collapsed. And she was quite relieved that nobody was injured. To Khessa's question about the scouts, she responds, "It hasn't made much sense to scout ahead. Those worms could come as easily from below as from ahead or behind. Maybe we best keep together."
Nevermind, the worm misses and burrows away.

"A sound plan. Heavies up front this time, in case we catch it?"
Love God. Love Others. Any Questions?
"Of course!" Khessa agrees with the gnome general "Keeping the elemental and guardian in the foreground has proven to be a successful tactic".
However, the tall adventuress also awaits the opinion of the other companions...

Lulu leaves the wisdom to her very wise gnome as she checks on Hanne and retrieves her mount, ready to go along with whatever the others decide.
