Following the others back to retake solid form, the noble drow is about to make a nasty comment about the human's weirdly uncharacterstic statement, but he realizes the admittedly gruesome sight might have been too much for her frail human mind.
Insight to determine that Khessa is now confirmedly and objectively mad: 24
Khessa has always been a bit of a question mark to Traydark maybe, so perhaps this new reaction is just another one of her many wonderful facets coming out. Nothing to see here folks.
You can all retreat some back down the tunnel while you decide what to do, and a few moments later you hear that terrible howl and resounding yips cry out again, and then begin to echo softer and softer as it seems perhaps the demon lord has, for now, retreated or moved on.
Lulu is, at first, inclined to believe that's just the way meat-eaters speak. It's all quite gruesome to her, being the vegetarian that she is. But the cleric has once already seen the signs of Madness from Khessa, and these feel much the same.
As the sounds move off, Lulu looks to the others and says quietly, "Khessa, lass, I believe ye've been taken again by the influence of the Demon Lords. Is anyone else feeling strangely? Or having similar compulsive thoughts?" She crouches in front of Horkas to inspect his pupils for dilation or constriction, though she's not sure Madness manifests with any kind of physical sign. "There's nothin' I can do at the moment, but if ye can keep yer heads about ye for now, we can have this gruesome business of a heart seen to."
"I feel that I am my ususal pleasant self."The noble drow says dryly. He certainly has his doubts about the others though but hopefully it would not become too much of a nuisance before Ms. Lacebark could remedy their annoying mental ailments. Leaving those thoughts behind, Traydark sneaks back to see if the mighty mangy Lord of Savagery had left with his pitiful hunting pack. Assuming they have indeed left now he would make sure the Goristro heart is still there. He also examines the Goristro's horns for any traces of blood from the Beast of Butchery.
As Traydark looks back toward the carnage, he can see that while the demon lord himself has left, there is still a pack of gnolls feasting on the remains.

The noble drow would call upon his earth elemental servant before sending a ball of green demonic fire to incinerate the pitiful creatures, but not the remains of the Goristro, then bravely hiding while his earth elemental servant beats any still standing mangy gnolls to a pulp.
"Oh, are you serious, Lulu?" Khessa tries to think about herself for a moment. "In fact, until a few moments ago, I had never felt this much passion for meat... It was only now that I saw the Goristro being slaughtered by the Demon Lord Yeenoghu that I got this idea that the meat of sentient creatures could be as good as cabbage... And to think that it is incredibly difficult to find something as good as cabbage!"
"Yes, let's fix this matter of the heart, in the meantime..." the blonde arcane warrior tries to ignore her new instinct - which is currently telling her to try to take a small bite of the Firbolg, just because such a good person should have equally good meat... "...The heart and the Maze Engine. After those two things are sorted out, now that we have this incredibly fast way of traveling, perhaps we can return to Gravenhollow to the basilisk. The creature was able to heal me, the last time - it might be willing to grant me that favor again".
Hearing Traydark's Fireball explode, the tall adventurer eventually notices that the noble draw has started a fight on its own! This doesn't bother her - but it worries her a little; what if the enemies are thougher (or more resourceful) then ha thinks? So she hurries to check the situation.
[[ OOC: @DM: Was the surprise magic attack enough to eliminate the enemies? Or are they still alive? ]]
Lulu's ears press back against her head, tail whipping with agitation ar the roar of fiery explosion. Brandishing sword and shield, she hurries into the area.
"I 'spose we must move quickly now. I cannae imagine that Yennoghu got very far. And, even if he did, I suspect that sound carried quite a distance." She gives Traydark a look, scolding like a mother's, that he didn't talk that through with the rest of them, then keeps her eyes and ears open for any indication the demon lord might be headed back their way.
The noble drow ignores the scolding firbolg, focussing on letting the earth elemental servant harvest the Goristro heart while showing Horkas where to sample some of the demon lords blood from the Goristro's horns.
"Well, since we have become the owners of these precious remains, let's hurry to recover what we need!" Khessa shares the gentle firbolg's concern, but tries to make the most of what has been done.
The blonde arcane warrior tries to use Dawn as quickly as possible to cut through the demon's dead flesh and help the elemental get what they all need. What she would like to do, in order, is: 1) Remove the heart 2) Recover the horns with Yeenoghu's blood stains 3) If Wind Walk is expired and she has time, ritual-cast Floating Disk to take the heart away (until she is able to Wind Walk again). Else, trying to go away just carrying the heart (maybe with the help of the elemental, or Lulu or the Shield Guardian, if too heavy) 4) If she has time, cut a slice of Goristro's flesh from a thigh and take a bite to taste it
After that, the tall adventurer is ready to resume the journey towards the Maze Engine.
Horkas offers the use of his bag of holding to store the giant heart - hoping they could squeeze it into the opening! If not, then Khessa's magical floating disk would have to do. The artificer will happily join in cutting other samples from the demon for future alchemical examination and experimentation. This includes a thick slab of rib meat from the muscular back - lean and grill ready!
"Khessa - I bet these ribs, coated in a good vinegar-based sauce with some brown sugar and onions and then slow roasted over a hickory fire, would be quite delicious! We'll have to see what we can throw together later in the fortress!"
Horkas can put the heart in the bag of holding. But he can hear it beating constantly in the background of his mind, and if he encounters maddening situations again he's going to have a difficult time resisting the pull to go mad. (Saving throws against gaining madness at disadvantage while the heart is on or close to you)
Katryl is shocked by Khessa's suggestion that she wishes to eat the Goristro's flesh. But then Horkas suggests the same thing! 'Have they gone mad?' she wonders, almost voicing her thought. But she noticed Lulu already had spoken to the woman about it in her calm and peaceful way. She sometimes wished she could do that. Stepping over near the gnome, she says. "No!" It's a sharp retort and sounds quite resolute. "There will not be any demon flesh barbequed in the fortress! Disgusting!"
Traydark's solo attack though left little time for more friendly discussion. The gnome at least was offering reasonable help with the bag of holding. She turned to see what had happened and sees that all is well in hand with recovering the Goristro's heart. She keeps a close eye on Khessa, and if she tries to eat any of the demon flesh she will give her a very loud "NO!"
Upon hearing Horkas too talking about eating demon flesh, the noble drow is convinced the admittedly horrible scene was too much for their frail minds. "I doubt arguing will help right now, they have both obviously succumbed to the abyssal madness permeating the Underdark like a filthy disease." Traydark quietly whispers to the fiery genasi. "Better just hope our gentle firbolg can make her goddess cure them, soon hopefully. I have to agree though, Goristro flesh is disgusting, the tender flesh of succubi on the other hand..." He whispers, apparently joking as he gives the genasi a quick discreet grin.
"Yes, Katryl is right, I don't think barbequing inside the adamantine tower would be a good idea, better do that outside."The noble drow says to Khessa and Horkas with a polite smile. "Why not make stay here and rest though. I can erect the tower over where we came and you can feast right here on this juicy flesh if you want."Traydark continues, leaving to do just that. He is then ready for a long rest in the tower, hoping to resume their journey once they are fully rested.
Lulu purses her lips against a chuckle as Katryl sounds very much like her father telling their blink dog not to eat whatever poor creature it managed to catch in its jaws. "Aye, if ye two are hungry, I'm sure we can find something not so... tainted."
"But I suggest we put some distance between ourselves and this site of death. The demon lord left his pack here. We can no' be sure he will no' come back to fetch them for their next hunt." Again, her ears perk towards the direction Yeenoghu left, tail hanging low with worry. "I'll quickly check for tinmasks that might've sprouted from the horned fellow footsteps, then we can make haste."
((Lulu will look for any of the mushrooms they need in the area! IIrc goristro were one of the ones the tinmasks sprout from too right? She'll gladly accept help too, if so!))
"Excellent idea, I will come with you firbolg."The noble drow says as he realizes they might even find three components necessary for the creation of the dark heart at the same site. "We could use your keen eyes too" He turns and says encouragingly to the fiery genasi, leaving the human and the gnome to feast upon demon flesh.
After extruding any interesting components from the demon for future alchemical experimentation (not eating!) Horkas will happily join the others on the mushroom hunt.
Khessa may suddenly find herself forced to think that Goristro's meat is delicious... but she still keeps the liberation of the Underdark (and the Prime Material Plane) from the uncomfortable presence of the Demon Lords as her first priority!
So when the party, instead of camping, goes in search of yet another component for the Heart of Darkness, the blonde arcane warrior temporarily puts aside thoughts of a tasty barbecue and instead helps everyone in the search for mushrooms that have sprung from one of the demon-bull's capacious footprints.
