"Great job Globbagool!" Khessa rejoices, as her ooze ftiend is able to join the fight "We'll need every bit of help we can... this thing is tough - so many hits and still kicking..."
The blonde arcane warrior insist fighting in pair with her brother: as soon as Anator distracts the opponent, she delibera yet another powerful blow.
"We have to get to them before they get into trouble!" exhorts all Khessa, her blue eyes slightly dilated with concern, as she urges Globbagool again on the levitating disk that allows it to keep up with the party "If they meet one of these monsters while they are away from us, it could be their end. Thank goodness, they are not fast..."
The blonde arcane warrior tries to move quickly in the same direction she saw them go.
Meanwhile, she flies Anator up, mentally instructing him: 'Brother of mine... Perhaps from above you will be able to see better where they are. Try to locate them and give us directions, please'.

"Be wary, the fungoids might lead us straight into a trap, they are likely both corrupted by the Lady of Fungi."The noble drow calls out, his suspicion second nature, but as the blonde arcane warrior rushes away he sighs and follows, letting Darkwing stay on his shoulder for now as that strange brother of the human seems to do the scouting now.

"Traydark..." Khessa turns for a moment to look at the drow warlock, as sweetness and sadness mix in her blue eyes "Once already, trusting in your judgment, I hesitated to act, thus abandoning one of our companions to his fate..." (and the heartbreaking image of Sarith begging for help immediately resurfaces in his mind) "...a fate perhaps not yet decided and certainly not deserved".
"I don't blame you" the blonde arcane warrior goes on. "I know you, dear, and I'm sure that you were honest, that you advised what you really thought was best... but I also know that I don't want to leave another single living being at the mercy of the Lady of Fungi before I'm absolutely certain that there is no alternative (or that the victim really deserves it)".
"They did not receive the Lady's Gift" the tall adventurer concludes. "They are probably only excited. Or stupid. Or, if controlled, I hope this condition cannot go on indefinitely. Anyway, I'll not simply go away and forget them. They are two of us. They deserve better".
Katryl had initially headed towards what was left of the previously mobile mound. But as Khessa headed off after the myconids, she changes direction to follow. "Perhaps they are home now and just want to get back to their lives," she calls out. 'I wouldn't mind getting to the surface back to my own life,' she thinks. As they go, she and Eldeth both try to keep back a bit, but keep their eyes open for anything unexpected.
Katryl had initially headed towards what was left of the previously mobile mound. But as Khessa headed off after the myconids, she changes direction to follow. "Perhaps they are home now and just want to get back to their lives," she calls out...
"I will be happy to leave them to their own lives..." Khessa assures "I would just like to make sure that said lives are likely to last for more than a few minutes".
You all begin to traipse through the fungal forest after your myconid allies, the smell of earth and mild decay prominent in the area that is unearthly despite so grounded in the earth. Beyond the mud and mushrooms that spread across the cavern, a large, clear pool sits in the midst of the fungal grove. A central mound seems to be the only dry spot in sight, though a small cliff rises above the cavern floor far across the clearing, with giant mushrooms visible in the distance. Bioluminescent fungi trace strange constellations along the cavern’s ceiling and walls, showing the darkness of the ravine and a mist-shrouded smaller cavern beyond.
Two much larger myconids stand tall over three others in close proximity, while ten tree like creatures surround the raised mound altogether in a defensive formation. However, nearby Stool and Rumpadump are waiting and happy to see you again.
"Guys..." Khessa gives a bright smile of relief at seeing the two myconid friends safe and sound and hugs them both "But what came into your mind to escape like this? What if you found another Mound like the one before? Didn't you notice that he was hostile? And that he could first tear you apart, then maybe sauté you? Anyway, fortunately everything went well..."
Meanwhile, Anator, having fulfilled his task, resumes his position near the neck of the blonde arcane warrior, hidden by her flowing golden locks.
"Anyway, out of curiosity..." the tall adventuress asks "Do you happen to know what those ten tree like creatures are and what they are defending?"
Katryl mumbles, "I think sauté is a bit of a stretch." She then says a bit more loudly, "I have no idea what the ten trees are. Oh, you weren't really asking me though, were you?" She gets a grin on her face.

(OOC:Lol!)
"No, I was asking them Katryl..." Khessa returns the grin "And with 'sauté' I was joking to play down. Anyway, at least they seem happy now... So they must haven't noticed anything too much out of order, at least. Not bad, given that a demoness lady should be around".

While the human has her focus with her runaway fungoid pets, the noble drow steps forward to formally adress the two larger myconids who are likely their less than friendly welcome committee. "Greetings proud protectors of Neverlight Grove, we are travelers who seek understanding about the recent demonic influence in the Underdark, how fare your community, have you seen signs of the Lady of Fungi, Zuggtmoy in these parts?"He asks boldly but in a formal and polite tone, watching closely for the myconid's reactions.
One of the large stalk creatures wavers at you slightly in response as the familiar sensation of rapport spores is cast over you all. “Well met, I am Sovereign Phylo. You are safe, friendly softers. You arrive at a wondrous time, for Neverlight Grove is on the verge of something great, something marvelous! Celebrate, as the day of joy is nigh! Please, stay and enjoy our hospitality, but avoid the eastern plateau because the Circle of Masters is preparing a wondrous and glorious surprise in the Garden of Welcome. We would invite you too to join us tomorrow for a most wonderful celebration. Then the Great Seeder will gladly answer all of your questions in more detail I am certain!"
----------------------------
While reading the myconids proves difficult, you all do get the feeling from Stool and Rumpadump a bit of confusion.
---------------------------
The other large myconid stalk then introduces themselves as Sovereign Basidia, and asks you all to meet them off to the side in a few moment, offering to take you around Netherlight Grove on a personal tour. Stool and Rumpadump seem okay with this and would suggest you take them up on that offer.
Khessa mentally begins to connect evidence and words.
She suspected Zuggtmoy's imminent arrival, but things seem calm here in Neverlight Grove. So the Lady of Fungi must not have arrived yet.
As a result, for some reason, the words 'a wondrous and glorious surprise' bring to her mind Mr Lemon Demon's summoning ritual at Sloobludop.
All the more reason because the answers will be provided by a 'Great Seeder'... a title that makes her think so much of someone who, perhaps with the excuse of spreading 'rapport spores', maybe can also spread some possible 'seed'... maybe a 'seed' capable of bestowing 'The Lady's Gift'...
But the best time to discuss these things with the companions is certainly not this, in which even Phylo and Basidia would participate in the 'conversation' thanks to their rapport spores! The blonde arcane warrior therefore prefers to ask: "Excuse my ignorance, but could someone explain to me what this 'Circle of Masters' is? And another little question... among the guests at the 'wondrous and glorious surprise' there will also be a drow called 'Sarith'? He should have arrived before us, some time ago, together with some myconid, thanks to a portal opened with the 'Lady's Gift'..."
The noble drow bows politely and agrees to follow Sovereign Basidia on her tour of Neverlight Grove, sensing she might want to more freely communicate with the team. He then listens attentively to whatever response is coming from the Myconids as the human starts asking her questions.
Katryl too agrees, though a tiny bit reluctantly, to take a tour as well. However, to her companions she adds softly, "We probably shouldn't stay here long. We should just find who we were looking for and move on."
Basidia begins to lead you all back through the fungal forest, rereleasing their spores once away from the others some. "We are all part of circles, it is our way. The Masters are like me and in charge of many things. But what they are doing up in the garden I do not know. Phylo won't tell me. It is strange since our kind usually share everything. Was your friend one of the softers who came in recently? Phylo took them to the garden. Here is Loobamub, the leader of the circle of hunters."
The new myconid is tall and lean as well, and as soon as it joins in the rapport, you can easily sense a wariness about it. After a brief introduction from Basidia, Loobamub mentions they are wary of Phylo's intentions, but they are also being plagued by a grick alpha nearby and would like you to put it down and take it's corpse to Basidia later for reanimation. They already heard about the mound you killed and are grateful for that as well. They mention there is no hurry on this but Basidia thinks it is better to get it done sooner rather than later.

Did Khessa hit with her 17? If yes, the relative damage was 8.

There is no immediate sign of Stool and Rumpadump. What would you like to do?
