The dwarves are grateful for the weapons, even if battered, and agree they do not wish to be a burden on your group, but fare you well, and a promise that if you ever make it (and them) to the Silver Marches they'd be glad to throw a banquet and get to know you all better.
Anything else you want to do before leaving the cave system here?
Katryl finishes helping with the dwarves. She thanks Horkas when he gives her the spider-silk rope, placing it with her pack. She tries to find a place to rest for a bit, but is ready to head out once everyone else is prepared.
With Grax'xt and his earth elemental servant being on vigilant guard, Traydark too find himself a reasonably comfortable spot to rest before continuing the search in the Wormwrithings.

The caves here reek from the trogs but apart from one small chamber with ropers, they appear to be relatively safe enough to rest without interruption.
As they have time to relax, Katryl takes a look at the locked chest. she first checks for any traps on the chest or locking mechanism. (Perception: 12, 24 if Advantage allowed for Thieves' Tool proficiency per XGtE.)
Assuming no traps are detected, she then tries to pick the lock. (DEX Check w/proficiency: 13 + 3 Guidance = 16)
The box was just locked, so Katryl is able to get it opened just so and finds 180 gp (minted in Menzoberranzan and Gracklstugh), three gems each worth 50 gp each, a potion of gaseous form, and a +1 dagger with silvery, weblike filigree worked into the hilt.
Horkas looks over Katryl's shoulder as the tribute chest pops open with a click. "Nicely done, Kat! Oohhh...look at that dagger...I bet Traydark would like that! And you should probably hold on to this potion...could come in handy. Perhaps we divide up the gold for the troops? That's like, what, 27 gold each? Although the gems can't be evenly divided...so maybe 15 gold for each of the troops and we keep the three gems?"
After the short rest, the artificer is ready to move on and explore further!
Question 2: OK, so no eggs in this cave; thank you for the information. But do you know of a particular place around here where we're more likely to find a purple worm egg?
Khessa (before starting the interrogation of the dead Troglodyte Chief - or after finishing it) approves the division of the loot proposed by Horkas and is happy to be able to deliver something concrete to the troops, in addition to the compliments she has already given them verbally.
The blonde arcane warrior waits to see if Traydark is in fact interested in the magical dagger - because if he doesn't want it, the weapon could be an excellent substitute for a common short sword, for one of the Gauntlet Infantrymen [[ OOC: same damage, on average, but chance to hit just a little higher and, last but not least, magical damage... therefore capable of wounding even monsters resistant or immune to common weapons ]].

If you can find a purple worm nursery that is your best chance.
Katryl agrees with the division of the money and takes the potion as Khessa indicated. Already having a magic dagger, she is willing to see it put to use by someone else.
Katryl can't help rolling her eyes. "Now there's a surprise," she says in a soft voice, though it's hardly quiet enough to not be heard. "We didn't find any purple worms where we've been. And he points us out the other exit. Wow." The tone is pretty sarcastic.
She stretches a bit, ready to head out after having had a bit of rest. But she's fine with waiting for Khessa.
The noble drow chuckles at the fire genasi's comment. He wasn't surprised the trog wasn't particularly forthcoming considering the expedition had just murdered the whole tribe, in fact he wasn't sure why the trog would respond at all, but they were of course simple minded creatures.

Khessa, before resting, uses the Stonespeaker's Crystal to have a chat with the dead Troglodyte leader.
Question 1: We are looking for a purple worm egg. Where should we go from here to find one?
1. Out of this cave, there are no eggs here.

Love God. Love Others. Any Questions?

'Evidently he doesn't know the precise location of one of these purple worm nurseries... or he would have pointed it out to us!' Khessa thinks.
Question 3: To find a purple worm nursery we will probably have to find a place regularly frequented by purple worms. Where did you last see one?
Down here in the Wormwrithings.
Question 4: What path should we follow from here to reach the place where you last saw a purple worm?
Out the exit in the back of the cave.
