Gnome's OOTA Story Thread [CLOSED]

"Katryl, the rumble seems so soft..." Khessa tries to convince her genasi friend "I think you'll be able to free the egg we need in time".

Horkas and his construct companions stand still, but ready for another worm attack...

Lulu perches upon the cluster while Khessa flies down to Katryl, ears perking towards them to hear. If a worm is coming, she wonders if the safest place might not be atop these clusters. Would a worm harm its own clutch to get at the proverbial foxes in the hen house? 

If/when Katryl does join them, she'll lend her her Goddess' Guidance. 

"My opinion is if someone was messing with their eggs, that's the first thing a worm would be concerned about," Katryl replies as she goes to hide.

Khessa sighs, but doesn't force her friend to come. She flies back to the gentle Firbolg and resumes trying to [Tooltip Not Found] her free at least one egg without breaking it: "Come on Lulu, let's just do it".

Of course, if the sound of the approaching Purple Worm gets louder and closer, the blonde arcane warrior might also reconsider her priorities...

Seeing Katryl hide, Traydark too decides to hide, motioning for the zhents and the girl to do the same.

If everyone is hiding, I'll need stealth checks from everyone, including the entourage.

Khessa falls back to hiding only if she hears the worm approaching before she and Lulu can get the egg. Until then, she is helping the gentle Firbolg.

With Khessa’s help, Lulu tries again with the egg, thinking of it now like doing surgery in the field. Despite the rumbling, her hands are steadfast as she methodically carves away the webbing, once again asking her Goddess for Guidance.

Stealth after to hide on the cluster if the worm is getting closer, casting Enhance Ability with Cat’s Grace to negate the disadvantage from her armor: 15)

 (I'd say he's coming back around now. That hole was really, really deep. And nothing down over 1,000 feet.)

Khessa is a little disappointed by the uselessness of the chasm, but is still happy to have Anator back and makes him retreat to the safety of his pocket dimension.

As Lulu continues working on cutting an egg free, she is about done when a couple of web shots fly her way, as two giant spiders crawl along the webs high up!

(19 and 6 to hit. If successful, Lulu is restrained)

As the webs fly and the spiders appear, the rumbling has been growing steadier as she works on the egg. She manages to get the egg free before the spiders shoot their webs though, but only just barely! There are also suddenly surprising shouts and cries from across the cavern as the rumbling gets louder and another purple worm appears further south! The screams and cries come from a group of humanoids who take up a formation to attack the worm as it rumbles into the cavern.

Hanne also shouts back, "Wait! That sounds like my mother! We have to help her!" And the girl runs off in the direction of the shouting and worm appearing!

Do you wish to try and assist Hanne and the hunting party? The giant spiders are threatening Lulu and Khessa but are still at range so getting away from them may not be difficult.

Khessa hastens to cut with Dawn's blade of light the sticky filaments that have suddenly imprisoned the gentle Firbolg (the blade of pure light, at least, does not risk getting entangled!): "You were great, Lulu! And you'll be free in a breeze!"

But the blonde arcane warrior's attention is immediately captured by another emergency: "Hanne! D4mn it, don't go alone! Wait for us, we'll come with you! You can not help neither your mother nor anybody else, if you go alone and get slaugheterd!"

If the tall adventuress manages (as I expect) to free Lunaria without too much difficulty, she urges her: "We must prevent Hanne from getting killed! Probably by helping her mother. Follow us and keep the egg safe!" then she glides below, reaching the young drow girl, promptly followed by the Gauntlet Infantry.

[[OOC: If by chance Fly has ended in the meantime, she uses Feather Fall to allow herself and Lunaria to quickly descend without harm. ]]

Horkas flings a fire bolt at the closest spider (120' range) and then runs after Hanne with the constructs. "I've got her, Khessa!"
Spell attack: 10 =( probably no damage from that poor roll!

With the spiders attacking and Hanne running off, Katryl abandons the idea of hiding. "If we are fleeing, where would we go?" She's worried about Hanne's safety as she heads off. Hopefully Horkas will be enough until the spiders are taken care of. 

From her vantage spot, she takes her bow to fire at one of the nearest spiders. (Using Steady Aim - not moving.)

"Do you have the egg now?" she shouts towards Lunaria. "I can climb up of you need help. But we shouldn't just let Hanne run off!"
