Arya looks at the statue "This thing animating and attacking us is more likely than us seeing the sun rise anytime soon." She gets out her sword and activates the fire. She takes a position behind it readying her attack for when it moves. "Go search through stuff and make it animate."
I'm back. I saw Deadpool 2, not quite as funny as the first one but probably a better movie overall. It did have something in the post credit sequences that had me rolling in the aisle with laughter.
Back to business. Arya goggles as Fah'lin pushes over the statue; she grips her sword ready to attack and... nothing happens. "That's surprising."
(Which is just about Fah'lin's maximum level of perception.)
"The center of the southwestern wall is carved to resemble the face of a snarling tiger with hollow eyes." Inside one of the eyes is a t-shaped handle.
Fah'lin grips the handle in his expendable Mage Hand and gives it a turn.
Oops, I've said before that the written text doesn't align with the map. I've been trying to adjust what I tell you but I've just realised that this is actually the northeast not southwest. Taking that into account we will move forward. The secret door opens to reveal:
The walls of the passage glow magenta, bathing the corridor with a ghastly hue. After fifteen feet, the floor drops away to a pit that fills the hallway ahead. The pit is twenty-five feet deep. Eight large, spidery bushes with thorny stems, white leaves, and enormous yellow blossoms grow across its bottom.
Five feet beyond the nearest edge of the pit is a bronze bar, set level with the floor and embedded in the pit walls to either side. Farther out over the pit can be seen other similar bronze rungs, set at five-foot intervals. On the floor by the edge of the pit is a scattering of broken, rotting wooden planks.
This is transformation magic, the statue appears to be petrified. Also, you notice a magic aura coming from the altar under the stone calendar opposite the secret door where Fah'lin is exploring.

Thar will determine if he knows anything about the cat-man. History 21
Again, probably not. For all his intelligence he's just not very smart!
Aeliarin scans for magic auras.
"That statue has a powerful eldritch aura, be careful in looting it!" Aeliarin advises.
(Is that statue the size of a man?)

I'm heading out for most of today, next post late or tomorrow.

"Well, if it springs to life now it'll be in a tough spot, right?" Fah'lin pokes at the various items of any value in the room?
(Is Bless still up?)

"Well that looks inviting." Fah'lin looks back at the statue. "What's with that guy anyway? Aeliarin?"
(He should know what school of magic it is I think? Is it transmutation? Could be petrified.)
Looking back to the pit, "Anyone have a rope?"
