Zalten hears Cyra's words and his face instantly darkens again, whatever glimmer of radiance that was there for a moment quickly fading out. Her words terrify him, and the concept of being stuck in this place fills his head first with overwhelming fear and then a stern resolve. He has some reservations about the exact nature of the task ahead of them and it's morality, but he ignores those doubts, singularly focused on ensuring he can return home. Surely his god will understand whatever actions he needs to take to do that
He finishes what little food he has infront of him, still not quite used to eating with his deformed mouth, and then stands up, declaring "Then there is no need for us to sit around here any longer. If there are others hanging about who have tried to accomplish our task before, then let's go find them. Hopefully they'll know more about what lies ahead"
With that, he gets up and walks out of the hall and towards the courtyard
All Jack can remember from the trip between realms is back pain. With a shrill scream and a thud, a lanky figure falls to the ground. "Aly!" he groans, rolling over on his side and letting the hammer he was holding roll out of his hand. "I told you to hold that ladder steady---" The man finally looks around, the orange rays of eternal dusk (dawn?) making his olive skin glow gold. "This isn't Aly's house." Blowing a strand of curled hair out of his face, he stands up, picking up the hammer and a large black case lying beside him. He stares wide-eyed at Florie, still slightly fazed. He follows her silently to the large castle room, still staring as he shifts his gaze from the maid to the great dragon before him.
"Hold---hold on. I'm confused. Summoned?" Jack pauses, stuffing the hammer into the case and setting it down next to him. "What is the Twilight, what is going on?" Another pause. "... Did I fall asleep on the job again?" He says this mostly to himself and the air around him, and more as a statement than a question.

Nygil rolls his eyes at all the questions. He looks disdainfully at the food, finding it a little to...fancy for his taste. He's grown used to the simple food provided by the monastery where he'd spent the last half of his life. Sure, it had been...good enough for most nobles there, but THIS? This food was way to much of an indulgence. Still, it would be rude not to take something...and he had already succeeded in offending this dragon. Good gods, he really had fallen from nobility during his time away... oh well, it was worth it.
He takes some of whatever vegetables are on the table and eats them quickly enough not to take to long but slowly enough that he doesn't look like a savage.
"I am ready to depart whenever the rest of you... champions... are." He says once he's finished. "Lets hurry up and get this... crown stealing... I mean retrieving! ...business over with so we can move on with our lives." He lets out a (rather forced) exasperated breath as he wipes his hands on whatever napkin is available.
Mordred had raised an eyebrow to the creature's confidence, jumping at the shadows of the streets but here they were standing up for themselves. He couldn't get a beat on this strange creature but he respected the bravery they had possessed even if displayed in such an odd manner.
"Others have done to you?"
The paladin had asked in a sincerely concerned tone, he hadn't planned to use any violence on the creature. Even if he disagreed with her way of thinking. Still though this thought that others had already harmed this creature in some way left him with a disturbed expression for a moment.
"The one's that hurt you, do they yet live?"
He seemed a bit surprised and even for a moment stuck by it's gaze before shaking his head a moment and looking back at.. The rather small creature.
"Hell of a gaze you got, I see..."
He had stroked his own chin thinking upon it's words they had not fought after such bragging. They had also threatened this creature? It was a morally grey dilemna but Mordred knew now he hadn't had all the facts. Jumping straight into the pyre so to speak he had let out a puff of air from his chest.
"Even if they hadn't fought, I'm not sure how running away gives anyone the right to look down on others. Well.. Looking down at them metaphorically in you're case. Is what I would say judging the lives and deaths of others while you flee except.. Hearing they had tried to put fear into you I understand you're cold attitude toward them. Though I believe one cruel mistake is unworthy of death I can now see why you feel such a way about these fallen comrades of yours. As they never truly acted like you're comrades, it seems I had misjudged you're character and for that I humbly apologize."
He had knelt to one knee to match the creature eye to eye as he lowers his head down to the ground with a hand placed over his chest. A rather proper apology from a paladin who had such dirty armor and for one who appeared to had fallen so far.
OOC So opposed contest must be agreed upon? Than I shall ask next time. Sorry about that ^^ I did it more so as flavor but if the DM ever wants me to change something I do not mind of course ^^
Dang +6 Intimidation is a lot more than I was expecting haha xD
(I just realized that i missed this entire interaction.)
(Yeah, That works for what you were doing. Normally i'd say Shield would have had to roll higher than your base charisma, in order to intimidate you, but i'm not sure if that's an actual rule or not.)
Zalten, Nygil, and Rethan all gain 2 temp hp from the food.
After those of you who ate finish your food, Florie motions to a few more servants in the kitchen. The servants bring each of you three days rations, they bow then leave. Cyra doesn't say anything else while this is happening. She just continues to eat, and watches you all expectantly. Florie on the other hand says, "Um, Come with me Champions. Uh, I'll show you the path."
Once again, Florie leads you down several hallways. Once you approach the doors, they seem to open on their own, relieving the red and orange landscape below. From what you can tell, these are the front gates of the castle. At the base of the steep stairs, you can see a wide road leading through the middle of town. "That road goes leads through the Twilight. Just follow it and you will eventually reach Dawn. Um, after you cross the River of Darkness that is. Uh, but don't worry about that. There is a bridge over it. Just-uh, don't stray to far from the path. The monsters are worse the out in the uncharted areas."
OOC Well also in the DMG it says DM has the final say too so it's whatever you rule as well Rynn ^^ Honestly I rarely see two tables/groups handle ability checks with players the same way so it's whatever you think we should do ^^
I wanna post again so bad but I wanna wait till Mordred is responded too first ^^
Jack and Zaltan also notice the two figures standing near the bottom of the stairs.
However, Jack notices a bit more about the town. There don't seem to be many humans around but there are a lot of Minotaur and Lizardfolk. This makes the armored man, who is currently confronting a kobold, and the human girl standing a ways away (EarthTraveler's character) stand out quite a bit to you.

Nice though!
If anyone else is eating or waiting around when Cyra is finished talking, Jumble will grab a quick, small plate.

All of you can roll perception.

Mordred:
(Lol well what you two did made sense, I also should payed more attention to what you were tying to do. So everything's working fine right now.)
Well you can roll perception too. Though since you are distracted (and have your back turned to the castle.) you're going to have a higher DC.
Jack and Zaltan also notice the two figures standing near the bottom of the stairs.

Oh if the others come down to us or if I notice them I may get a chance to post haha
Also whatever you rule I'll go with when it comes to ability contest and stuff ^^
