After Kashika announces that she is finished dressing, Whicket grins then looks back at her. After a moment of awkward staring, his face turns red, and stays red as she locks eyes with him. However, when she asks him to stay his eyes light up and he seems to forget that she is standing in front of him naked. After all, she doesn't look much different then he does unclothed. His grin grows wider, "Y-you really want me to stay?! Yes! ...I mean...Of course I'm honored!" He tries to look dignified, but fails as his giddiness takes over.
"Good good." The white dragon responds, Then her tone drops. She sounds...sad, and slightly embarrassed, "....well, to be perfectly honest, I am quite young compared to the others. And the crown really wasn't meant to be a means of communication. I can only do so because I am related to it's creator....I...I may become a powerful dragon, I really wasn't meant to be a guardian at this age, but due to certain events, well here I am. I'm currently located in the Underrealm. The world linked to the one you are currently in. This pool is a gateway of sorts to my realm, which makes it a lot easier for me to communicate with your end. Ahhhh, I'm rambling. Sorry, about that I don't get to talk to many people. Anyways you are right. Dragons are not all powerful, though the older we get the stronger our power grows and we get better at using it. I'm sure that with your abilities, the crown, and the help I can lend you through this medium, we can keep the other two in line..." At this point she realizes something, "Oh I really have become rude in my isolation. Please, call me Freya."
The young dragon falls silent as Kashika continues. As she listens to the Kobold, a small smile crosses her face. She had thought this would end poorly, but this Kobold and her companions clearly have hearts of gold. A small chuckle escapes her maw as the loud elf says his goodbys. "Well then, If you are ready, step into the pool."
One by one Nygil, Jumble, and Devona step into the glowing waters. Whicket waves goodby to each of them, a few tears well up in his eyes when Devona leaves. Just before she steps in, he runs over to her and gives her a hug. She had been his only real friend in this realm, and he has a hard time letting go. "Please come visit sometimes! I will really, really miss you!" After letting her go, he steps back next to Kashika and wipes his eyes.
After a moment of darkness, each of you open your eyes to find yourselves in the exact moment, doing the exact thing you had been doing at the moment you were summoned. It is as if you never left. You almost think the entire experience was just some sort of odd dream, accept the fact that each of you are holding a small slip of paper on which is written a simple message in silver ink.
"Thank you. --Freya"
(And that concludes From Dusk to Dawn! Thank you all so much for participating! I had fun running this and I hope you all did as well.)
(Also, if you want to make one last post either to respond to Whicket or Freya, or you just want to give a character reaction to the end, go for it. I would love to read them. If not that's fine too! Thanks again!)
Devona simply calls Tilda to her shoulder and blows Whicket a kiss and gives one last smile and nod to Kashika. "Fare well you two, may goodness spring eternal for you."And with that she is gone, back to her home, which, ironically, was where she was attempting to contain a firestorm...
(thank you too, hit me up any time, any of you for more adventures here!)
Nygil smiles at Freya, "Well you sure are nicer then the two snakes up here. It's a pleasure meeting you, Freya. Aaaaannnnddd, if you ever need someone to talk to, and you happen to have way to communicate with those in... uh... the upper realm would my realm be called? Well feel free to send a message my way. Oh, and if you ever need a crown thief to go down to your realm, well it seems I might have some experience now so feel free to summon me...so long as you still have a way to send me home. I'm all for adventure! Anywho, you watch over Kashika alright? Though her new companion here might need that a little more than she does."
With that, he grins leaps up onto the rim of the pool, then turns and bows to his comrades, "Until next time friends! It's been a pleasure meeting all of you!" Then he leans backward and falls into the pool.
Once back home, he finds himself on the road out in the middle of nowhere. Taking notice of the slip of paper in his hand, he reads it, smiles a little, then stuffs it in his pocket before continuing down the path.
Kashika can't help but smirk at the dragoness' reaction, forcing her to say I was only ribbing y-you. Considering how you said I was to w-weak to contain all the power! Regardles... Freya. It seems you and I have a little in common. In reference to being forced to do things far sooner than they should have been. Kashika gives Devona a nod in response. S-same to you. A shame we only just met... c-compared to everyone else atleast.
Soon after, Nygil begins with his usual. She'd always found him humorous in his actions and reactions but not in a degrading way. And she regarded him with a smile, the first truly sincere one she had given, if she had given any at all. I plan to, eventually, take the fight to them if I f-feel it's needed Nygil. They will learn to work together or else they will be removed, instead of dragging people like u-us away from our l-lives... not that I had much of one... against our wills, to fight their battles and l-lose our own lives for their petty c-crap. Either way t-thank you for your vote of confidence. A shame you didn't get to f-fight more but maybe it was for the b-best. Afterall, if we'd been too weakened when we fought Shurkan.... but that doens't m-matter! Take care.
With everyone gone, leaving only herself, Whicket, and the white dragoness Freya. She once again smirks at the pool. Kashika's life experiences had forced her to grow up quickly. But it seems this isolated dragon had all the hallmarks of someone lackign in experience. She knew about the crown, and the workings of this world, but little else. Kashika's grin turned into a wry smile....
W-Well Freya. I'm sure Whicket will be overjoyed to have not one, but t-two lovely ladies to talk to. And if you can come here or we can come there.....I don't mind s-sharing.
she said with a hinting tone, watching the reactions of both Whicket and Freya, likely with amusement.
(Aye it's been fun! A shame how we lost so many along the way, but was an interesting experience and an interesting story. If I didn't have obligations with my friend coming up to play in his campaign I likely would have stayed for part 2, but if i took on two additional games instead of one i don't think I'd have time to reply to them all!
And to respond to your request Gnome, sadly as above, I simply don't have time for more games!)
(Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm mostly happy with how it ended I think it rapped up relatively well even though so many players dropped, and I'm glad i asked how many would continue otherwise it would have ended on a cliffhanger. While I would have liked to run the second part, for lore reasons and because you all were a great group, I am actually a bit thankful that I ended it here. I'm going to be starting a new job next week so I may have a lot less time on my hands. Haha. Anyways, Thanks again all of you!)
