All of your travels have led you to the great city of waterdeep. Some of you are residents, likely living in a decent apartment somewhere in the city. Others are travelers, stopping here for awhile while they rest. Whoever you are, you have all decided to eat at one of the most popular restaurants in town--The Yawning Portal.
The restaurant derives its name from a 40-foot-diameter well that decends into the first level of a dungeon known as undermountain. Undermountain is a colossal maze of caves built hundreds of years ago by the human mage Halaster Blackcloak. The proprietor, an aging human named Durnan, offers rides into the dungeon for a small price, though even he has never explored beyond the first few levels.
You are seated by a rushed server who, for an absence of tables, seats the four of you together at random. You talk for a few minutes while waiting for your food. You are approached by a dwarf, who invites herself to your table.
She makes conversation for a few minutes, explaining that she is the tavern's musician. She then mentions that she would like you to help her deliver a pouch of payment to the underground town of Skullport, which is known to have a connection only a few levels into Undermountain, for payment. What do you do?
would i know how long it would take to deliver something there? like a few hours or a few days?
"Depends on how long you spend finding all the treasure of course! And I do not know exactly how deep it is, but I believe somewhere between levels two and four."
"alright, i dont know about the rest of these kind folk but im willing to take a trip, but if you dont mind i would like to know what the payments for. just dont want to get involved in anything shady, you understand."

"How does 60 GP each sound?"
OOC: Will wait until everyone else posts to start.
“60 GP suits me! You can count me in… tentatively.”
Arith gestures to Wyld. “I believe this one was trying to ask the purpose of your delivery into Skullport. Perhaps, who are you taking a payment to and why? I am curious about that as well.” She awaits an answer from the dwarf.

"I am with the harpers and you are paying our debt to a half--drow named Cal'al Claddani who helped one of our agents during a mission."
Nill shifted in his seat to cross his legs, he picked up the tea he had ordered and took a long sip as the others talked. He hadn't expected to be offered work in Undermountain, he thought he'd have to gather a party and entice them with the treasures below to gain their companionship. This was a better option, "I am in, as well"Nill said with a smile portraying his boundless optimism. "Dayeris Egnite" he whispered into his tea causing a bit more steam to rise from the cup as his magic warmed it.
The final figure sitting at the table is a male gnome. He looks ordinary, with simple clothes and round glasses, but 2 things jump out at you. First, he has bright purple hair, with flecks of silver in it that seems to reflect light, and second, at his hips are 2 scabbards for scimitars. The gnome looks at the dwarf, and nods his head. “Ah, why the Nine Hells not. I was going to head into Undermountain anyway, so why not get paid for it.” He turns to look to the entrance to Undermountain, then back to the dwarf. “By the way, I don’t think I caught your name?”
"Im good to leave whenever these fine folks are ready. got no business today other than the meal in front of me" (just realized i didnt describe my character yet so imma do that now). Wyld is a purplish black haired tabaxi with a pouch on his side wearing very simple clothes, with the symbol that those from the area would recognize to be from the church of the Night. With all that said, his most noticeable feature is the skull he wears on his head.

"Agents? Im sorry but what type of business do the harpers partake in?" Wyld seems to tense up in his chair
"Oh, what you'd expect--ensuring no unsavory activities happen down there, watching over the larger theives guilds."

OOC: Should we have started with any additional gold, or magic items? Just confirming :)
OOC: nope, undermountain is a very treasure heavy dungeon.
The dwarf responds "the name's Mattrim Mereg. When will you be leaving?"
To Mattrim: “Nice to meet you. You said you had a pouch for us to deliver?” Elri extends his hand to take the pouch.
To the rest of the group: “I think I'm ready to head into Undermountain whenever the rest of you are.”

She hands you a small, velvet pouch and the money the four of you will need to pay the shopkeeper to go down. "Safe travels!"
OOC: I'm going to wait for MMM to respond before we go.
Arith quickly finishes off the rest of her food and then pounds the table. “It sounds like we’re in agreement, then! To the Undermountain!”
She smiles at the rest of the table. “We’ll make quick work of this job!”
Wyld, a bit startled from the slam "It will be a pleasure to work with you all" as he gets up, using a quarterstaff as a walking stick, ready to leave
