"So what brings you out in the open Bled like this? Even to here is not a short trek."Duncan asks while they rest, snacking on some dried meat, "And how did you run into those raiders? I saw you took something from the downed leader... Do you think they were looking for you specifically for whatever that was? It'd be good to know if there are more people on our trail."Thinking of the assassins that might already be trailing them.

Kasbis ritually casts unseen servant as they prepare for camp, to clean up their tracks here and to tidy things up, assist with the setup of their camp. He dispenses it when they sit down to rest and start to talk. He pays attention when Duncan asks the question, curious to hear more about how they arrived in this section of the desert, at this time. Gaz lazily curls up on his shoulder and comes around his neck, observing their behavior as well. Before asking anything further, he awaits the response to Duncan’s question and judges their affect and demeanor as to whether they are being open and honest.

Hrathen happily takes the short rest, but says "I'm afraid I'm still quite wounded and completely dried out, magic-wise. I won't be of much use to us until after I sleep for the night."

"The box belonged to my mother. I think the raiders were attracted by the pearl inlays on the box. I am out here because I did not want to live as some lady who sits at home waiting to be married off. I grew up listening to how my ancestors came to this land and tamed it. So I chose to follow in their footsteps. Secretly I started learning the mining trade. Those men and women are true survivors digging deep into the ground and braving the unknown."says Ellesia. She then takes out a badge. "Now I am a fully qualified miner"
Willoughby points to his mule "Well you forgot your tools, Ellesia. Good thing I brought them with me"
"I was going to head towards the Oaken mines and they have plenty of tools there. With your skills papa, we can strike out on our own."says Ellesia
“Really? What a coincidence. We were looking for a miner before we left Widoze, but we could not find anyone. We may be in need of your services. If you would stay with us a little longer. May I describe the project to you, get your thoughts about it? Perhaps we could travel down the road so to speak even a little further… Duncan, Hrathen, is that ok? Do you concur? I think this is quite fortuitous.” Kasbis looks over to his companions, reading their expressions..

Duncan nods in agreement as he stands up and brushes himself off, ready to head on, saying to Hrathen, "We can make due without your magic for now, though you should rest while we have the chance" ((use some hit dice :P)) "Let us continue walking, we still have a ways to go." ((@dm - based on the map, it looks like we're pretty close. Does it seem that we can make it to the land tonight?))
“My father Kurta left me a stretch of land in the desert very close to where we are. This stretch of land had a mine near it with a rich streak of emeralds. There is an oasis with an underground spring of water somewhere on this stretch of land as well. And the other interesting possibility is that there could be an old Zalanthi ruin nearby, we are not sure. My father died and left this land to me, it is one of the few remaining things that I have. Duncan and Hrathen are here to help me with this. We feel that something nefarious happened to my father. This land will give us the resources to be able to look into it. I … could use your help as well. What do you know of this section of the Kavic desert? Do you know any other landmarks or starting points here?” Kasbis pauses here to appraise the effect that his words have had on Ellesia and Willoughby.
“Would you help us with this? Where are the Oaken mines in relation to here?” He looks down and points to the mother of pearl inlaid box and says “What is in the box, what did your mother leave you?”

Willoughby perks up when he hears about a possible Zalanthi ruin. "Now that would be worth studying, but there is a matter of payment to discuss. I am guessing you lack the funds to pay for her services. How about 50% of the profits if there are emeralds under your land."
"Papa that is too much. The idea does intrigue me and the Oaken mines are about a week and a half of travel to the northwest from here" says Ellesia
"Hush now. You must know what your worth and your worth more than just some laborer found off of a street corner."says Willoughby
He looks at Kasbis "Do we have a deal on 50% of the profits?"

“I don’t know… it is our land. 50% seems like a lot to me. I don’t even know your skills or ability to bring this to pass. In fact, I would say that you are somewhat of a risky investment. But I am too I guess. Perhaps it is too much to even guess before we see what is involved. But 50% is too much. I could go for … 25% of the profits? Think about that. That is certainly a lot more than the deal that you would get at the Oaken mines.”

While the others rest, Duncan takes some time to quickly look around the property and the trees in the area. Looking for areas that look like they would be easiest to defend, as well as at the types of wood around the oasis to see what could be used to build shelter when they find time.
There are suitable wood for building around the oasis. With a bit more searching Duncan finds a shallow cave that is about 30ft in diameter. Its 80 ft from the oasis.

Further investigation and the party finds the oasis
As per the deed you are now in possession of 200 hectares of land or 494 acres a mix of rocky terrain and sand.

The party finds adequate shade among the trees and bushes around the oasis. The camel happily drinks the water and eating the nearby grass.
