Kasbis turns and quickly says to Duncan, “Agree, something isn’t adding up here. Duncan, find yourself a glaive, I doubt they will need it anymore.” The wheels are spinning quickly in his head. He quickly appraises the scene. “This isn’t an illusion…” he says to himself.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
“I’m going to take my dagger back and stuff it in his little chest. Or feed him to a scorpion. Probably the whole thing was a set up. Little bastard.” Kasbis looks up and starts to walk through the portal. He looks back to Bruth, saying “What happened to the Chiracki tree? That is crucial.”
After he hears that, he asks Duncan to come along and he walks through the portal.

"I don't know, barely keeping it together" says Elder Bruth. After that the portal collapses. The party is forcefully ejected from the portal into a mist shrouded forest.
On the ground you see numerous foot steps. that split into 3 directions. Easr, North, and West.
Kasbis bends down and looks for any prints that look larger than the others, like that of a bear, or some similar beast that a Druid could transform into and crush the chests of the militia. He examines the footprints for any clues about which direction “Ori” aka Mossbrush could have gone.

Shai sniffs at the ground and simply marks a tree nearby. Duncan chuckles and says, "Unless it's a gem or some salt I don't think he's much interested."
I think shai is a homebrew animal of some kind. I actually don't have a stat sheet for him at all. I just know he likes salt and gems, and after having eaten some emerald grew some green spines a bit. I'm curious to get him more gems later :)
Duncan is ready to help with the search of the tracks though.
Aisha's focus is completely lost learning about the emeralds giving Shai green spike, "That is amazing, we have to find Shai some tourmaline, the pink of that stone would look wonderful with his green! I wish I had one on me right now to give him."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Aisha will give Shai a little scratch under the chin, "Yes a little tourmaline is just what you need, but I need to see if we can figure out which way to go." She will then join Kasbis in looking at the tracks. Survival (13)
Kasbis joins Aisha in looking at the tracks. Kas is particularly interested if they are all humanoid or if they are any animal tracks, say of a bear. He has heard of woodland magics that would transform a being into a huge bear, and then use that power to crush the armor of a soldier. “We need to work out a strategy to catch him by surprise…”

"My armor makes quiet movement difficult, but I'll certainly do my best,"Duncan says as he gets the feel for the glaive they found before coming through the portal to wherever they are.
“Mossbrush. I wonder if he knows Viscount Marish. Likely so. Look at these bear tracks, I imagine he has turned himself into a bear. Let me go in front, I am sneakier than you two and maybe I can spot him.” Kasbis looks for his eversmoking bottle in case they need to retreat or escape. Gaz gets his comfortable position around his neck and acts as a second pair of eyes.
Kas starts following the bear tracks, crouching low and taking his time, trying to remain hidden. He looks up periodically trying to get his bearings and seeing where this large bear is headed.

Aisha's hands crackle with energy as her usual gleeful look turns stoic, ready to advance and save those who have been taken.
Duncan finds a glaive among the fallen and some of the armor seem dented or crushed. You can see indentation of a fist.
Nothing comes to Kasbis as she ponders the situation.
Does everyone go through the portal as it will collapse soon?
Duncan has just enough time to scoop up Shai if he wants
Aisha is ready to go through the portal and begins walking towards it.

Whistling, Shai bounds into the room and sticks to Duncan's heels as Duncan grabs a glaive and passes the quarterstaff back to Kas.
As they are pulled through the portal he looks down to the tracks and says, "Seems we should choose a direction..."

The tracks are muddles by so many footsteps that Kasbis cannot find a distinguishing tracks of Mossbrush.
The party can choose a direction or the others can roll survival checks.'
Its true Shai in not interested in tracking unless its gem or salt.

Aisha finds bear tracks heading north. From the size of the tracks its a large bear. Bigger than usual.
Aisha points out the tracks to Kasbis and Duncan, "What do you guys think? Can we successfully creep up on this?"
