Kasbis comes out of his space of safety and retreat, saying “How was it, everyone ok? Duncan, you’re filthy! Let me help you…”. He uses prestidigitation to clean him and Aisha off, readying them for travel.

After digging out from under the sand Aisha starts brushing herself off, "Thanks for helping Duncan that was a lot of wind and I'm used to wind." Her brushing doesn't get the dirt all off and smiles when Kasbis' spell cleans her up, "And thank you Kas!" Tilting her head to the side as if shaking her head to the side to get sand out of her ears she adds, "I've got sand everywhere."
4 days past and with your supplies almost gone you reach the town of the Oaken Mines.
The town itself was built with sturdy, weathered sandstone bricks, blending seamlessly with the surrounding desert landscape. In the center is a large oasis crystal clear waters.
As the players made their way through the town's narrow streets, the bustling market came into view. Stalls and makeshift shops lined both sides of the road, their vibrant awnings providing much-needed shade from the relentless sun. The market was a cacophony of sounds, filled with the cries of vendors hawking their wares, the laughter of children playing, and the distant clinking of tools from the nearby mines.
The scent of exotic spices and aromatic herbs wafted through the air, intermingling with the earthy aroma of freshly baked bread and roasted meats. The players could almost taste the flavors that hung in the air, making their mouths water with anticipation. The tantalizing smell of grilled kebabs and sizzling vegetables drew them closer to one particular stall, where a skilled cook expertly turned skewers over an open flame, infusing the market with a mouthwatering aroma.
The market was a kaleidoscope of colors. Richly colored fabrics fluttered in the breeze, hanging from stalls and creating a vibrant tapestry overhead. Brightly painted pottery and intricately crafted jewelry gleamed in the sunlight, enticing the players to examine the fine craftsmanship. They could see sparkling gemstones in various hues, carefully displayed to catch the eyes of potential buyers.
As the players moved through the market, they couldn't help but notice the miners, their sturdy frames covered in a layer of dust and sweat. They trudged wearily, carrying pickaxes and shovels, their hard work etched onto their faces. The clinking of metal against rock echoed from the mines nearby, a constant reminder of the town's main source of income.
Duncan breathes in deep as they enter the oasis, soaking up the sights, sounds, and smells, saying, "Ah. new places! It's amazing what you can learn of a people by how they cook." He then looks for the nearest local food booth to buy a small sample of whatever exotic snack they have for sale. Seeing the sign he points a thumb to it and says, "We could use the coin... also, it's possible our miner friends may have thought the same. Though... we should supply up while we're here first." His first stop after getting snacks would be to find travel rations and to fill his waterskins. He also wants to stop at the gem dealer to see what the smallest gems they have for sale are of different colors, Shai dancing around his heels as he shops.
Kasbis accompanies Duncan, helping to fill waterskins and look for additional rations and food that would be stable for travel. He asks any passing miner and also the people in the stalls, “What is the story with the mine? Why the warning signs? Have you heard anything?”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
A passerby stops "I think they found something though I am not sure what it is, but I can tell you is not just another vein of iron. Not even my brother who is a miner is allowed down mine shaft 4. Thalgors lips has been tight lipped, so I guess in I am saying I am not sure, but it probably dangerous."
Aisha follows suite in restocking on supplies, rations and filling water skins. "If they're in need of help we're quite capable. And with a reward that large we could do even more good."
Aisha's shopping list: Rations, Tarp or Tent, Whistle, Empty Bottles, Caltrops, Oil, Pitons, a Small Hand Mirror, Cooking Spices, and she will look for someone to help make the Naga fang she collected into an earing.
1 ration cost 5 sp. So its up to you how many you buy.
Aisha it does not take long to find a Jeweler. The merchant says after hearing your request. "That will cost 2 gp and I will need about day to finish crafting your earing"
There is a market stall for water as well with large barrels filled with water and tapped with a spigot. As the party approaches a man with a clip board asks "I have not seen each of you before are you travelers? If you not a local citizen than I ask you to pay 1 gp each to fill you waterskins. You see even though we have an oasis we never know when it might run dry. These funds goes to our expedition forces who search for underground sources of water."
Munching on a couple figs ((2 packs, 1s)), Duncan buys one of each ((15g)) gem, as well as a weeks worth of rations ((3.5g)). He then follows Aisha to do some tent/tarp shopping, since after the storm that seems pretty important. Finally after the day of shopping, he pulls Shai aside and gets him to ‘sit!’, ‘stay!’, ‘shake!’ And then gives him the piece of Quartz along with a small pile of salt for dinner.
Kasbis steps forward to the man holding the clipboard. “We are travelers, we are from this area, but we don’t live in this oasis. 1 gold piece, is a high price for water. We have need.” He fingers his ring and concentrates, then locks eyes with the man. He says in an odd sounding voice, “You will allow us to fill our waterskins and take the water that we need, you are friendly to travelers. And you will let me look at your clipboard. We might become the closest of friends, in fact!”
Kasbis casts suggestion on the man, DC 15 wisdom save to resist. If successful, we will fill up every water container. And Kasbis wants to look at the title on the clipboard and the names listed on it, specifically looking for Willoughby.
Kasbis will buy a weeks worth of rations as well, grumbling that that is the last of his gold. (3.5 gp)

The sand storm seem to last for an eternity, but it finally abates. The party is half buried in sand, but is otherwise fine.
Everyone please roll perception for the next leg of the journey west.
Standing up and dusting himself off, Duncan looks to Aisha and asks if she's ok before looking around to gather his bearings and continue the trek.

Civilians stay away from the mines. I repeat do not enter the mines.
Just below it then says
Skilled miners with combat experience wanted . Seek Thalgor the Foreman at Thrumbars barracks near the mine.
Reward is 500 gp

Duncan easily finds a gem dealer with gems of many hues. Not too far away is a stall selling dried dates as snacks.
The dried dates cost 5 cp for a small bag
A list of some cheaper tiny gems
