As the tiny fairy flies towards Shavaris, her entire face lights up with recognition. As they give her a tiny hug, she about suffocates them with her return squeeze. Tears of joy spring to her eyes as her friend is there with her. Shavaris is then stunned into silence as Delphinium lists off all the accomplishments they have made in the short time they have been apart.
Eventually she finds her voice, "Well, guess you weren't missing me then, were you." she leans her cheek against the fairy again affectionately. "Thought you'd also be happy to hear that we didn't find Lelith guilty. She's... something. Can't say I am a fan of hers Fireflight, but I couldn't guilt someone for being under the influence of someone else."
Just as she is about to continue, something Delph said finally resonated in her, "Did you say found a unicorn? What do you mean?? I thought the mare was slain?"
After the rush of reuniting with her friend, Shavaris gets serious again and walks with Shirin as they continue down in the underdark.
The trek through the caverns of Atlantis goes without further delay. Whatever it is moaning in the darkness doesn't bother to attack them, and their way is lit well enough by the glowing crystals here and there that they can't get too lost.
The makeshift band eventually finds itself in a large chamber. Huge crystalline spikes stick up out of the floor, towering many feet above the adventurers who have found them. These spikes seem to shimmer with blue energy that crackles up their length from bottom to top, and sometimes they whole series of spikes glow. There is a rhythm to them, like the breathing of a living thing. They run the length of chamber from front to back, which is well lit between the pink crystals and the blue of the spikes.
In front of the spikes is a pedestal with wisps of golden energy flowing back and forth across it. A triangular indention in the front of the pedestal looks built for something, and two words are inscribed in Celestial below the indention.
A bright smile crosses Stasolya's face and she laughs as the fairy holds up the Triforce. "Greetings Delphinium, and welcome! My name is Stasolya. How glad I am to see you. Truly our prayers have been answered! It sounds like you've been hard at work..." Her expression turns solemn. "Vader's death is a great victory, but I think we have paid a sore price for it. Hold the Triforce carefully. We will need it soon..." Handing the mirror back to Kit-Tik, the centaur falls back into the procession as the party continues, weaving through the passageways between the pretty glowing crystals.
As the group enters the large chamber, towering crystalline spikes arching up above them and crackling with blue energy, Stasolya stops, and takes a step backwards in awe. Not like the useless pink crystals. Here is the very power of the force that will right the wrongs and renew Hyboria. Her eyes are drawn to the pedestal, and the indentation in it. In a hushed voice, as if not to wake the sleeping force in the chamber, she says, "I cannot read the script, but this looks very much like where we ought to place the Triforce." She looks at Delphinium.
If thri-kreens could, Kit-Tik would have blinked twice, making a double take as Dageron pulls a small child from his back, "You brought a child on a mission to awaken what's been dubbed as the apex predator?"
Kit-Tik turns to Rhino and Silk and clicks in Thri-Kreen:
"The loud one leads with authority and strength. But to bring a child? Perhaps strength comes at the cost of intelligence? Unless the loud one speaks truth and perhaps the small one bears some significance to our task at hand."
Kit-Tik's two constructs hum in what could be inferred as a chuckle.
Kit-Tik speaks once again to Dageron, "Very well. While we have a brief moment of respite, I shall ask the small one your questions."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The tiny fairy is delighted that Shavaris is happy to see them and gets a hug back. Their gossamer wings flapping happily on either side of what appears to be a pure white spiraled spear about their size. They seem to brighten in their blow glow which seems to encompass them like a bubble with the friendly greetings they receive. Their brightly colored outfit of purples, greens and blues matching and complimenting the aura they generate. "What do you mean I wasn't missing you? Were you missing me? Awwww, thanks Shavaris. Yeah, I knew I could count on you. She was understandably really grumpy when we got a chance to talk. It can be pretty frustrating when folks don't know proper protocol for talking to grandkids of fey queens. I know to let it slide but she is a lot more on formality. I bet you two would get along well when she's not being accused of terrible things. You do know that's really insulting to a fey right? Anyway, yes. Found a unicorn. Which is awesome. Means I fulfilled my promise to find and bring them a unicorn. They are with Gandolf. Apparently there was two of them left and not just one. There will be two soon enough anyway." they motion to the spear on their back between their wings. "Just need to get to my dad's place. first, help here though."
They flutter off of Shavaris' shoulder to get a look around the area. As a barely contained ball of energy they zip and zoom around the area trying to make heads or tails of where they are and who is around. Going through all these mirrors and teleporting to every corner of the world is starting to confuse the poor fairy. As they are looking the centaur addresses Delph and they stop to be polite and address them back. "Greetings Stasolya. yes, I have been working hard but it's nice to meet a centaur. I was always fond of your people's ways and connection to animals and nature. Is it okay for me to ask if you are fey born or mortal born? If that is rude to ask you don't need to answer but origins can often matter to some and I do not want to give offense. You can simply tell me to treat you as mortal or fey based on your preference. So, are you Shavaris's new friend? She's really cool you know. I am too of course. As to Vader, well... I teleported in, got the triforce back before it was given to him. Punched him and the traitor. Then came here as the entire tunnel we were in collapsed on top of him. Can he survive being buried by hundreds of tons of rock? If not, then yep. He's dead."
As the fairy is led over to the structure with the indentation of the triforce the fairy seems a bit suspicious at first and looks around really closely at the others gathered. He was fooled once but you don't fool a fairy twice and they were being cautious as the give a clean look around the area for signs of an ambush, an invisible person or anything that gives them reason to think this might be a trap.
Perception to note the area Delphinium is in and who is nearby: 20
Shavaris enjoys the barrage of Delph's speech as they lit upon her shoulder. As they mention their dad though, she is taken aback. Their opinion of the whole situation has completely done a 180 and she hopes it is for the best. Just as she is about to ask the fairy about it, Delph flies off her shoulder to check out the large area they now found themselves in.
She steps up to the pedestal, trying her best to avoid all the energy that is crackling everywhere and notices the words inscribed. She turns around to the rest of the group, "Can anyone read these engravings?"
Kit-Tik speaks to Dageron, but keeps his telepathic communication open for all to hear, "It seems the small one is as clueless as you are about his own standing. He knows nothing of his name, purpose or even what it is. From what the small one says, it seems its memories only goes as far back as the library."
Though the Thri-Kreen couldn't read celestial he examined the pedestal and area around it to see if he could gleam any information on its purpose.
Dageron considers the small creature in his arms for a moment. "A pawn then. But whose? Which side placed him at Skyloft and for what purpose?" Dageron seems to scrutinize the Gremlin more closely than ever before. He looks meaningfully at Kit-Tik, "Do you pray to any Gods? Because I pray to many, and now I am left to wonder if this was their answer." He stows the child on his back again. "We'll see." He nods appreciatively to Kit-Tik. "Thank you for helping with that. Though the deeper mystery still remains I do sense a divine purpose in finding him. Somehow, he is meant to be with us. Though I do not know why - yet. The only salient information Skyloft had regarding the species was the cryptic instruction to not get it wet. Which I will absolutely do sooner then later."
To the question of if anyone can read the writing Delphinium replies "Nope." and immediately begins to place the tri-force into it's slotted place. The small cooing noise by Dageron definitely grabs the fairy's attention just before they put the tri-force into the slot it seems designed for. They smile looking at the tiny one upchuck on the armor. "Awww, you make a good parent. They seem happy and adorable." They then turn back to the task at hand and seeing as folks are not within grasp of taking the tri-force the fairy will place it in the slot and see what happens all the while being on guard for any shenanigans because this all seems way too easy.
Kit-Tik responds to Dageron, "This one prays to no god. The only great decider is nature, herself, and one's willingness to endure her hardships. It was no trouble at all. Should loud one ever plan to experiment with the small one and water, let this one know and they will assist in that too."
The very instant the Triforce of Courage lands in the pedestal, the world shudders, the way a living thing may shudder in anticipation...or fear.
The ceiling of the cavern begins to groan. A stone falls nearby, shattering into a dozen pieces. Dust rises in its place.
There is a sound. A deep sound, throaty, as something living wakes up. Blue energy ripples up the row of spikes that are sticking out of the floor, racing front to back and up to the tips as each of the massive structures begin to light up. The dim pink glow that had previously bathed the cavern is washed away in the shear brilliance of the crackling blue energy. The air smells fresh, like the smell of a passing lightning storm.
The ground below their feet begins to push up and break away. Delphinium has seen this before. Recently, in fact. It's come to be expected with the reawakening of giant monsters. It takes only seconds in the eternity of the beast's rising for the adventurers to realize that the spikes sticking out of the ground are part of its body as a back like a mountain comes up and out of the cavern's floor. The spikes split the roof overhead. Before it can come down on all of them, however, two arms reach out as the titanic monster pushes its upper body free, shielding those gathered below it with its own form with clear purpose. The ceiling holds as it comes down on the creature, and it supports the stone and rock with its strength. The head, dinosaurian, its eyes glowing blue, comes free of the ground and it turns its attention to them in the same way a particularly reverent person may gaze upon ants.
The pedestal loses its light. Its clear that the magic is no longer needed. Godzilla is free.
The King of the Monsters growls as it shoves its body up, cracking the ceiling overhead. A huge stone slab breaks free and comes down at an angle, creating a makeshift ramp that leads back up to the upper cavern, the cavern when the dead city of Atlantis remains, allowing for a quick route of escape while Godzilla hauls itself free of its bed.
The party has enough time to flee as Godzilla gains its bearings. It shatters the ground between the lower cavern and the city of Atlantis on its way up, its massive body making short work of everything standing between it and freedom. Even the upper ceiling of the city is not match for Godzilla as it climbs up and breaks through, letting the storm and the surging sea to pour in behind it.
Exiting from the main entrance to the city, soon to be lost forever to the sea, allows the party to flee into the relative safety of the storm.
Godzilla emerges from ruins, through the thin crust of ground above Atlantis that the sea endlessly laps over, and stands, its body seeming to straighten forever as it rights itself. The glowing blue eyes gaze down on them again as it takes them in. There's no doubt that the monster sees them, acknowledges them. Its body, no longer obstructed from their view by the tomb it had once been buried in, is made for power, predatory and layered in armored hide. The glow arcing up and down its back intensifies as it looks at them, its chest swelling, heaving...
It turns its face toward the sky, roaring, and blue flame licks the clouds overhead away...
The monster wastes no more time. Its neck cranes, gazing northwest, toward Skyloft, toward its quarry. It bends, plunging into the ocean. The last the band sees of the King of the Monsters, at least for the moment, is the glowing blue spines slicing along the top of the water.
Delphinium watches in aww as they awaken a second most powerful predator and can't help but smile at their success. "My dad will be really happy I awoke not one but two amazing predators to walk the world again. I bet he's watching them hunt right now." He grins then grabs the tri-force again and looks to all his new allies and says "Alright, that was the mission right? That was really easy. What are we doing next?" They seem completely unphased by all the chaos of falling rock and water rushing in. They just kind of slowly flutter their way back to Shavaris once they have the tri-force in their hands again. "We heading into the mirror?"
Shavaris stands, mouth gaping open, as Godzilla arrives. Frozen in her spot, she isn't even sure she would have fled if the monster had decided to actually attack them, seeing they could have so very easily. A nice little snack before heading into the water. She had been trying to figure out what the blue crackling energy was... but never in a million years would she have guessed they were basically standing on top of what they were searching for.
Delph finally breaks Shavaris from her trance as they come near her, "Mirror... yes..." she says her voice sounding distant to her. Then something Delph said snaps her back to her attention. "Your Dad will be happy and you're glad about this? Delph, what has changed since we left Eternia together?" she looks around quickly and shakes her head. Seeing the chaos rushing in around her, "Nevermind. Guys! We gotta go, Kit, you got that mirror handy??" and she rushes towards Kit-Tik
Dageron looks on in awe. The hideous Gremlin child coos while reaching out towards Godzilla like an infant would to a parent. The moment passes as rock rubble shrapnels everything around them and Dageron has to use his shield to protect the two of them and the large mirror as it is unfolded. "If the Gods of War are watching, they should be pleased. A great battle is about to commence. Everyone, full retreat!"
You ask me why I'm weary, why I can't speak to you...
You blame me for my silence say It's time I changed and grew...
But the war's still going on, dear, and there's no end that I know...
There is time to see and hear what Gandalf is doing as the warriors are shuffled around.
"Just hold them! Allow none to pass!" He says as he stands one mirror in front of the other, creating a gate for the others to pass through. He's pointing into the next mirror...through which the AURYN warriors can see a mass of writhing undead marching across a snow crusted field. "Little time to explain so listen and move! When King Haggard as killed it tripped a kill-switch. The Red Bull was released from his enthrallment to do what it will! Some of you have it pinned down in the village. That part is being handled. But there is a whole army of the dead that's been released from his service as well to do what it wants. The army is bearing down on the village. You can't destroy it, but you can hold it while the Bull is being dealt with. Do what you can, and I'll have you out of there as quickly as possible. Now go!"
The Gray Wandered gets red faced and squeezes the bridge of his nose as he keeps pointing at the mirror. Ward's voice can be heard saying something.
"Ignore the Keep!" Gandalf shouts. "It's being handled! What do you mean the Red Bull entered a temple and disappeared!?"
A heated exchange ripples through one of the small mirrors between Gandalf and the Traveling Ward as the team of warriors enter the mirror...
Stepping onto the field was exactly what it looked like. Frost groaned beneath their feet while the ground shuddered under the advance of the approaching army. Every dead thing they could have imagined stands before them. Skeletons. Skeleton warriors. Skeleton archers. Dinosaur skeletons. Giant skeletons. Giant skeletons riding dinosaur skeletons and acting as shock cavalry.
To the west the village seems to be going up in flames. The sounds of a battle can be heard. At least two Death Hawks and an archer on a magic carpet are circling overhead. Screaming civilians are fleeing toward a forest further west...
The bulk of the army pauses as the AURYN warriors begin to appear in their way. They act like a regimented military unit, like they have a clear understanding of what they're doing; they do not seem to be randomly advancing. As the AURYN team watches, two of the aforementioned giant skeletons on dinosaur-back charge forward...with a swarm of the undead at their back...

Kit-Tik was speechless when Godzilla awoke, its hulking mass tearing open the earth from the mere act of waking up. Kit-Tik was then taken aback when they were quickly rushed onto the battlefield against an undead army. The Thri-Kreen took a moment to appreciate the fact that his emotions could not be shown on his insectoid face.
Once everyone made their way through the mirror portal, Kit-Tik took time to retrieve the handheld mirror from Stasolya and put both it and the foldable mirror back into his bag of holding. Surveying the battlefield ahead of him, Kit-Tik looked to Dageron, "Loud one, this is your field of expertise. What would you advise we do?"
"Leave this place to burn." Dageron's voice isn't sarcastic at all. "I am not clear on why we are here at all. Nor how we could be expected to battle an army. We cannot outmaneuver them, we lack numbers. We cannot lure them away with evasion tactics, their outriders can outmaneuver and outrun us. They need no food, medicine, sleep, nor do they suffer fatigue. We haven't even been told how long to hold." He looks around, his mind calculating whatever he can. "Truly, I would at least need to understand the objective to formulate a plan. The only terrain feature we could hope to use to our advantage is the town itself. If we light it ablaze we could use the burning buildings as a way to funnel the enemy down narrow alleys, but they would quickly outflank and envelop us..." He continues to look around... (( @DM - help me out here! Dageron will use his Battle Master Tactical Assessment: When you make an Intelligence (Investigation), an Intelligence (History), or a Wisdom (Insight) check, you can expend one superiority die and add the superiority die to the ability check - with Guidance = Investigation 23 + Guidance 3 + Tactical Assessment 8 = 34 in log. What amazing ideas does Dageron have? ))
Adam steps through the mirror and sees what is before him. He has a confused look on his face. He sees the battle planner Dageron and walks up to him. “Hello there, Ironbritches. Have you figured out how to destroy the undead yet? Gandalf sent us here to hold them off for a while, but I doubt that my fancy speeches or killer dance moves will have any impact on this bunch. I left Ironsides there with him. Is your tooth feeling better? Just let me know where to position, and what the plan is. But this looks to be too much …”. he actives his orange lightsaber and surveys the situation.

AURYN
The Army of the Dead

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Dageron looks at Adam, a wicked smile creeping onto his face. "That depends, can I see your AURYN amulet a moment?"
