"The drow are certainly known to cavort with fiends, so it may be that they fell to their own hubris." Marlin brandishes his magical marble. "If one of us can get within ten feet of them, we can entrap them. The prison is selectively permeable, allowing them to enter but not exit, so as long as I place it at the chokepoint we should be safe. Any volunteers? You need only toss the marble at them, my magic should do the rest."

Dabbert looks around as Marlin makes his suggestion and Gwin makes her statement about protection. He thinks, waits a moment, then lets out a sigh before holding his hand out.
"So I uh...what? Just throw it at them? And the magic does the rest? Do you want me to throw it in the room or against the wall?"
Rogi feels like pounding his head into the nearest wall. In fact, he's getting a headache as if he had been. "They're already in a prison, right? They're clamoring for us to release them. What do we gain by this?" He gestured at Marlin's marble. "How do you interrogate a fiend? If it lies, can you apply some sort of punishment that's worse than what they get in the Abyss? We came here for Kivari and we should be getting on with it."
"You'll figure it out." Marlin hands the marble to Dabbert, and pats him on the shoulder. "As for interrogation... we'll figure something out. Even if they know nothing, they won't be able to pass the barrier, and thus will be rather easy to destroy, so long as they have no ranged weaponry."
(Essentially, the marble allows him to cast magic circle as an action, rather than the initial 1 minute casting time, since he already "cast" the spell early and sealed it into the marble. I would advise using the "reverse" option on the spell, trapping the fiends inside of the circle so that we can pick them off from afar.)

Dabbertpushes the door a bit to allow his frame to enter the narrow passageway, and the moment he does so a faint buzzing sounds fills his ears and mind. Whatever he intended to do with Marlin's magical marble is completely forgotten; instead, he turns and takes a wild swing at Marlin with his free hand...
Melee attack with fist: 9, causing 5 bludgeoning damage if successful
Dabbert is clearly not himself; even he is surprised by what he has just done.
All players may act in any order; the fiends will follow. NOTE: Dabbert's turn consists only of making another WIS saving throw. Nothing in the hallway has changed. No doors have been opened, and the only thing out of the ordinary is the thick area of dark fungus on the left wall.
Though expecting danger, Korba was surprised to see that the threat came from his companion. Seeing him swing at the talented, but weak, mage in front of him, Korba holds his hand out towards Dab and mentally attempts to push him back ((str save 17)), even though he’s quite strong, there is a chance. He then would step in between Dab and the others, summoning the sand to obscure himself, protecting himself against future attacks, and blocking the way.
Still slightly reeling from the blow, Marlin will grab the marble from Dabbert and rush in. He reaches the doorway and casts the marble down. With an explosion of unraveling time, the spell he casts earlier comes bursting out, and a circle adorned with words and digits appears on the ground. He then rewinds time, zipping back to the rest of the party to avoid any oncoming attacks.
(He’s casting magic circle centered on the doorway, reverses so that the fiends are trapped within, then misty stepping away. Misty step check(V component only): 20)
Marlinseizes the marble (the spell frozen in time) from Dabbert, moves toward the open hallway door, and activates the Magic Circle at the end of the short, narrow hallway. A pattern of dimly-lit runes illuminate the floor, walls, and ceiling, indicating the space within which any affected fiends are trapped.
The telepathic voices lash out again, but this time more angrily. Another trap upon us?! We are to be freed, you fools! Free us!
Map below reflects where fiends were detected (yellow circles) and where the Magic Circle is in effect (blue area). Rogiand Gwin may act.

Gwin tries to recall anything specific about the presence of fungus and its connection to other planes of existence or those that dwell in other planes.

As she does so, her companions hear the cleric mutter a spell under her breath. Even the keenest ears would only hear the words 'sword' and 'Tyr,' but no eyes could miss the apparition of a Spiritual Weapon that appears in the form of a flaming sword above Gwin's head.

Gwin successfully draws a connection between two words that aren't typically related: fungus and fiend. Years ago, she heard a tale about the alkilith, a demon that some say is spawned from cast off bits of Jublilex itself. Typically appearing as a fungal growth, the alkilith lies in wait for the unsuspecting.
"Stay at least five feet away from the edge of the circle, and lay into them. I don't know what's beyond that door, but the fungus certainly seems like a target."Marlin recovers from his jaunt through space-time and recalibrates his watch.

Rogi briefly considered charging into the room but decided against it. He is going to stand back and see how this plays out. If his input is going to be disregarded each time, why not let them deal with the consequences?
Aside from the increased anger and desperation of the telepathic voices, nothing changes in the hallway. No movement. No other sounds.
Dabbert, however, is relieved to shake off his muddled thinking. He's not sure if he overcame the cause of his confusion, or if the cause of his confusion disappeared of its own accord.
Knowing that there are fiends nearby, and wanting to be careful, Korba holds his flaming sword under the fungus growing in the hallway to start.
((not sure if this is a free action or attack or not… I, the player, don’t want to waste my spell again, so I’m going to push forward~ I’m hoping to see what will happen. If this my action, all good. If not, let me know if something happens, and then I may act after))
