After taking care of Kyomi's wounds, bringing her back to consciousness, and assuring that she would make it through the night with no trouble. Everyone, trusting in the relative safety of the Furuflaten outpost's security, rested for the night. When they awoke, they all saw Morbrukk roasting a shank of the mountain goat that the yeti had been eating when they happened upon it. The smell of the roasting meat was a very welcome way to awake. Even so, they all knew that the amount of old furniture wouldn't provide enough firewood for more than about another day or so, so they needed to get on about their business. Strix and Harbek thoroughly examined the tower and it's remaining defenses. The stonework was in rough shape in places, some sections had several bricks that had fallen out, and other places the mortar was pocked and thin. Still, repairs would be pretty simple and straightforward, and the tower's two top floors were well intact, and still had ballistae anchored at four windows. With a little work Furuflaten would be ready to act as a key defensive position in any future war. Strix indicated as much when she used her Sending Stone to contact Gryld. She also asked about the chest of mithral ingots in the fort's secret stash. Gryld was unsure why such a treasure would be left there, but said that he'd dispatch a squad of soldiers to retrieve it as soon as priorities allowed. In the meantime, Gryld suggested the group head overland to their next closest destination, Hemsedal keep.

Strix let everyone know that they had a three day journey across some hilly terrain for a few days to get to Hemsedal keep. Thankfully the sun was shining, providing some much needed warmth, and temperatures were normal for the season, hovering just above freezing. The greatest dangers the group would face over the next few days would be storms or sudden drops in temperature, as well as, of course, any wandering monsters that might see them as an easy meal.
After packing up everything that they thought they'd need and could carry, the group left the comfort of the tower and looked for the most expedient path that would bring them in a generally northwest direction.
(OOC: Let's get some survival rolls to see if anyone can locate a frequently used game trail, or some other safe path that will ease travel.)

*Before leaving Harbeck made some hearty beer for his comrades using his brewer's kit. The hops are from sandy growing fields outside Tradebay city, and the beer is foamy. The chilling temperature adds to the quality of the beer, chilling it as if it's metal tankard had been in an icebox. As the party left Harbeck had offered it to anyone who wanted some.*
*Morbrukk takes some beer and downs it fast* "You have a talent there my friend. Your beer is very good. Might have to learn your secrets for my own people."

Having some of Harbeck's delicious brew along with breakfast started the day on a good foot. That coupled with good weather, and the combined heads of the group being able to quickly locate a well-packed game trail in the snow, so that travel was relatively easy, meant that everyone was in good spirits as they traveled. In such good spirits were they, that Morbrukk imagined that he heard sweet melodies floating across the chill mountain breezes. Except that then Kelsin broke the relative silence and said, "Does anyone else hear a sweet song carrying across the wind?"

After Kelsin halted everybody, because of the sonorous melody she heard floating across the breeze, everyone perked up their ears and listened. As the lilting tune became clear, Morbrukk and Strix watched as Kelsin, Harbeck and Kyomi's eyes all suddenly took on glazed over expressions, and each one of them made a hard left turn and started trudging through the thick snow pack towards a rocky cliff's edge that was only about one-hundred and fifty to two hundred feet away.
(OOC: Initiative rolled, good guys' block is first. As of yet you cannot actually see the enemy. You just hear the song coming up from below the cliff to your left. I'm going to keep with theater of the mind here, unless things start to become confusing. For now imagine a long wavy line drawn all the way across the map. That line is the edge of a cliff, and that direction is where Kelsin, Harbeck and Kyomi will spend their entire round walking toward. The difficult terrain of the snow is actually acting as your friend here, because even taking the dash action each round, which is what would mechanically happen, you're still only able to go your base movement. Kelsin, Harbeck and Kyomi can all make a new Wis Save at the end of their round to overcome the effects of the luring song.)
Strix grabs whichever of the three is closest to her and slaps them across the face. "Snap out of it. Ye'll not be walking over cliffs on my watch."
