Gor shifts out from the bushes and wraps a few thorns around his staff slamming it into the ground. A thorn whip shoots out from the staff. If the attack hits, the whip would then pull the enemy into the camp fire doing additional damage.
(OOC: I rolled for Drax just to get things moving. With advantage because of the restrained condition, he hit and did 5 slashing damage against the remaining priest. Remaining you say? Yes, remaining.)
The Outlanders coordinated surprise attack catches the scaly beasts entirely off guard. Lucky's double strike on the blue-scaled priest is immediately followed up by Zanoth's magical hand of icy death, and the creature groans a heavy groan and falls dead. Gor's magical whip of thorns lashes the other prone priest, the one with the black scales, and successfully pulls the creature directly into the group's waning fire igniting his clothes and burning his flesh. Just then Mills magical entangling vines burst out from the soil in a twenty foot radius centered right on the center of the camp, some of which burst right into the center of the campfire, and grasp a hold of the black-scaled priest laying there. Drax seizes the advantage and quickly grabs his greataxe slamming it down in a wicked arc and opening a tear in the black-scaled priest's scaly hide.
Every one of their enemies is caught by Mill's magical vines, but so are Lucky and Goraquell. Drax' strength prevents him from being caught and held by the vines. He watches as each of the dragonborn in the camp attempts to free themselves from the grasping vegetation. Both the red scaled warriors break out of the vines standing up with their shields and spears ready to strike. The black-scaled priest is able to break the grasp of the vines as well, and stands up grabbing his holy symbol of Kraiula, clearly making ready to cast a spell. The female acolyte with the green scales, though, is stuck fast by the grasping vegetation from Mill's spell, and she can do nothing but struggle to free herself.
(OOC: So each of the enemy dragonborn were initially caught by the Entangle spell, but all of them save the acolyte were able to free themselves. That, though, is their action, and standing up from prone requires half of your movement, so they couldn't get out of the area of the entangle even if they tried. So they are all still within the area of the entangling vines, as are Lucky, Gor, and Drax. Drax is not restrained, but both Gor and Lucky are, so they'll both need to make a STR check DC 13 to be able to break free from the spell. Zanoth and Mills are both 60' away, so they can act as normal, unless they close the distance and enter the 20' radius of the Entangle spell. Your block of initiative is live, so post your character's actions whenever you have time. In case it wasn't clear the blue scaled priest is dead-deadski.)
Zanoth continues to close the gap and seeing the black scaled Dragonborn start to cast a spell attempts another ghostly hand attack, knowing any spell it may cast could be devastating.
/OOC
Move: Run forward 30 ft. (so now 30 ft. distant), so outside the entangle AoE but in range of the red warriors moving to me if they so wish.
Action: Chill Touch on the standing Black Dragonborn, to hit 10 for 8 necrotic.
Ooc: Action break free. Rolled a 19 str check on the log.
BA: Hide rolled a 27 for stealth.
Lucky in a very vulnerable position uses his dagger and cuts himself free from the vines. Then runs into the trees to hide, ducking into a bush. He then drops his raiper and pulls out his bow.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Gor restricted by the vines and weeds of Mills spell sees them retract. He moves to the other side of the fire and casts thorn whip on the caster pulling them into the fire as well.
(OOC: Actually it would be way better for your crew if you dropped concentration on the Entangle. It would because neither Gor nor Lucky actually rolled with disadvantage, as they would have had to due to the 1 level of exhaustion they both suffered earlier. I'm guessing they just forgot because it's been awhile. If you don't drop the Entangle, I'll have to have them both roll again and take the lower of the two rolls to see if they break free. If you do drop the Entangle it will also remove the Restrained condition from the acolyte, but it will do the same for Lucky and Gor. Up to you, but let everybody know what you decide so we can adjust accordingly. Thanks!)
Lucky's arrow bites deep into the remaining priest, whose robes have been set aflame after Gor's magical whip pulled him into the campfire. Gor tries again to lacerate the black-scaled dragonborn priest with his magically conjured whip of thorns, but misses. Zanoth attempts to grip the priest with another of his conjured fists of icy death, but Mills' dismissing his entangling vines from the area caused a momentary distraction and he missed as well. Mills' arrow lands in to thigh of one of the red-scaled warriors, but the battle-hardened veteran just snaps the arrow shaft off in his clawed hand and steps to Drax thrusting forth with his spear. Drax easily dodges the thrust.
The second red-scaled guard moves into a position to defend the black-scaled priest from harm as well. He closes the distance to Goraquell and jabs a quick thrust of his lonspear. His spear thrust also misses. Meanwhile back at the center of the camp, the acolyte steps directly up to flank Drax between herself and the red-scaled warrior. She strikes out with her club and lands a solid blow on Drax's shoulder (-7 HP, rolls in log).
The priest that the rest of the camp is trying so desperately to protect has taken so much damage that he is forced to burn some magical energy trying to heal itself. Drax and Lucky watch as it casts a familiar curing spell and is bathed in a radiant and healing light (+5HP).
The chaos battle has erupted, now there is only time to let their honed skills in war react.
(OOC: YOUR TURN!!! The only person that even took damage that round was Drax.)
As the wounds of the black Dragonborn heal up, Zanoth considers that next time it could summon an army of undead… then they would be in serious trouble ! It had to be taken down, and quickly, then maybe they could force the remaining warriors to surrender.
Deciding that exposing himself to the spear of the red warrior was a risk worth taking, Zanoth moves over to strike out at it with his own Hexed spear.
”Take the priests down !”
/OOC
Move: I am going to move the final 30 ft distance to the group, attacking the black Dragonborn priest. This will put me next to both it, and the red warrior “defending” it.
Action: Spear attack; to hit 25 for 9 piercing damage.
Bonus Action: Spear butt (PM) attack; to hit 26 for 8 bludgeoning damage.
Note: I still have my AoA on me, so first melee attack to hit me takes the same (max 5)cold damage.
Zanoth sprints into the melee and impales the black-scaled dragonborn priest on his spear, lifting him high into the air and then slamming him down onto the ground just outside the circle of stones marking the campfire. He hears a blood-curdling scream of agony come from the green-scaled acolyte nearby, as she witnesses her mentor's body sundered by a heretic.
(OOC: Black-scaled priest is dead-deadski. Only remaining combatants are two red-scaled warriors, and the green-scaled acolyte.)
