Sebastian slips off the ship without much fan fair. He is intrigued with the politics of this port. How a place like this handles such restrictive trade laws is amazing to him and he wants to know if he can find any loop holes.
Things he is looking for
* passengers, especially ones that may be in trouble and need a quick escape route. persuasion - 16
* looking to find the quality of the exotic wood that the Captain is purchasing.
* Listening for any local rumors or news on troubles at sea or even troubles here in port.
If the exotic woods is high quality, he will buy into the trade good as well. Similar investment size as Sal of 100g for 100lbs
[ooc]My passenger from BG is still on board correct?
"Well, nice to meet you S'ika from the Old Kingdoms!" Rook takes S'ikas hand to shake as she offered. "I'm just from outside of Baldur's Gate. Mother came from a farming family, you see. Oh, you look like you're busy and ready to head into town. I'll leave you be."
Rook is eager to assist Sal in getting her goods sold, but defers to Carolinas to make the actual transactions, watching intently to see what he can learn of such things. He wouldn't dream of taking any of Sal's coin either. "Happy to help a friend!" is his attitude on the subject, as he makes sure to tell her.
During their time there, Rook watches for anyone eyeing the Keel or looking like they are walking around the docks with their personal belongings, possibly looking for passage on a ship. If he spots anyone of interest he darts down the gangplank and greets them with more than enough enthusiasm about the Keel. "Hi! Are you looking for passage on a ship? Maybe some adventure? We have a great new ship here with a great captain and crew! Oh, and we have a wizard and bard that sings really well and a cleric if anyone gets a bump on the head. She's really nice, too! Come see the ship!"

Rook also asks Master Glass to include some extra 'exotic wood' for him to try investing in, handing the experienced sailor 25GP for it.
By the time the ship ready to set sail, a goodly amount of strange cargo loaded aboard, there are some cabin changes required. A surprising number of passengers have embarked on the ship, many with fear-filled eyes and hurriedly packed chests of belongings. Both Carolinas, Sebastian and S'ika were able to 'convince' 5 passengers each to sign on to the next port, and Rook got 3 himself, filling the few actual passenger cabins and more. With over-full cabins and a scent of anxiousness in the air, the Keel leaves this gloomy port for hopefully kinder waters at Kingsbay.
OOC - we seem to have misplaced Bruz for the past few days.
“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
Sal will like to speak with the passengers, introducing herself as the ship's medic and offer to give them a check-up to ensure that everyone aboard is well and not sickly in any way (let me know if you need me to roll anything)
Bruz wakes up groggily a top several crates in the Keel's hold. He groans, "Either the ship is moving again or this is my worst hangover yet." Standing, he notices several of his tej casks lying empty around him. "That'll do it." Resuming his post in the kitchens, Bruz whips up a meal of freshly caught fish, enhancing with an exotic spice from his Heward's Handy Spice Pouch.
While Sal was wandering around and checking on people, she'll have Detect Magic to see what magic things people have upon their person while they are wandering around.
Sopping up the remains of yet another fantastic meal prepared by Bruz, Sebastian moves to make sure the passengers he had invited aboard have thier meals and are getting situated.
Noticing Sal performing a security sweep, he asks “Found anything? I’m hoping for smooth sailing. Some of these new passengers are already nervous enough. They do not need any surprises like we had sailing out of Balder’s Gate.”
Sal shakes her head. "Nothing out of the ordinary from what I can tell. Hopefully this is a smooth sailing trip."She looks towards where the captain is. "I an unsure if the captain will be comforted should I attempt to turn any undead to ensure none of our passengers are hiding anything in particular."
Carolinas agrees with Sebastian and Sal, "Considering the port we were just in, probably a smart idea to try it. Last thing we need is some undead on board, not to mention them possibly disembarking and spreading their scourge. Maybe Rook's sword will react to any potential undead on board?

Finishing her conversations with the newly recruited passengers, S'ika noticed she still had a little bit of free time. What better way to spend that free time than to play some music. S'ika quickly went to the deck and found a nice and cozy spot on top of some rope. Usually she would play an upbeat song, but today, she was feeling a little slow. She then closed her eyes and began to play one of her favorites. With her Instrument of Illusions, she will produce some rainbow butterflies. They will continue to fly around through the whole song.
Soon enough the ship is away, cargo holds relatively empty compared to previous loads, but not small either. The ship makes all haste out of the port and into open waters, Captain and crew rushed from place to place as they move with speed.
Sal's inspection of the passengers (and possibly crew) comes up with very interesting results. The last batch of five passengers that signed on all seem to have significant magic gear - weapons, cloaks, pouches, and various other items radiate dweomer of varying levels. They seem to have a firm attention for the port you just left, and hardly take their eyes from it as you depart. Only once the port is out of sight do they seem to relax, starting to smile and laugh, proud heroes. Your conversation with them is fairly normal, and they seem to welcome your introductions and attention.
Rook's nascent abilities don't react badly to any of the new arrivals at any point, and his sword stays out of sight.

"They seem better equipped than we are." Sal mentions to Carolinas. "A whole treasure trove of magic, each of them." As recommended above, will take out her holy symbol, a seven pointed star made of silver, as she recited some prayers as the ship is headed out of the docks.
(OOC: She's using her Channel Divinity: Turn Undead to see if there is any reaction from anyone aboard. She doesn't get paladin divine senses unfortunately)
Edit: adding an insight check to gauge people's reactions to Sal's actions.
Sal doesn't discern any visible effect from her radiant repulsion aura. None of the passengers do more than lightly squint at the bright glow emanating from her holy symbol. One of the significant group of five even pulls out his own symbol - a silver miniature gauntlet of Torm. "Hey, I have one, too! Great to have a God or Goddesses aid when you need it, isn't it?" Grinning at the group's caution he tucks the gauntlet back into his mail. The rest of his group laugh good-naturedly, relaxing against the edges of the railings. These seem like good people who have just accomplished some serious blows against evil, and are quietly proud of their achievements.

Sal looks to the icon of Torm. "Indeed, I thought I would take some precautions as we set sail." She puts her symbol back beneath her clothing. She then looks to Carolinas. "It truly depends on the nature of undeath. If there are any within this group, it is beyond my power to turn."

Carolinas says to Sal, "I think we're safe from them being undead, at least. However, I don't exactly like a group of heavily armed strangers on board. Even if they appear to be on the side of Good. Let us hope they don't find Bruz's liquor."
He'll go talk to the presumed leader of the group, "So what was a group like yourselves doing at that place? We couldn't even allow our divine servant of Tymora off the ship without risking trouble. If you had encounters with any noteworthy creatures then I would like to hear the details. I am collecting information for a series of books to hopefully be published to educate adventurers and scholars alike on what they might see within the world. All free of charge, of course. Take a look."
Carolinas casts Mage Hand as the spectral hand takes out his journal, and turns to the page of the Water Weird showing an illustration and information on the creature. It then flips to the page illustrating the fight with the undead Ogres and a flying Rook cutting into one. However, the person representing Rook is completely fabricated and very embellished, to protect his identify.
"What do you think? Care to add yourselves to the tomes of history gentlemen?"
If they agree and tell him about any creatures they wish to share, he wonders if they are lying or exaggerating.

Rook follows over behind Carolinas, eager to check out these apparent heroes and their magic gear. He peers around from behind the wizard to get a look at the book and gives a big grin at the drawing of the flying humanoid attacking the undead ogre. After a moment he realizes he's being a big overzealous, however, and returns to a more typical gaze of curiosity.
OOC On the off chance that these guests are hiding something, I'll roll perception and insight for Rook to just be curiously observing their gear and their behavior, not looking for anything specific other than that which a young man would find interesting about such folks.

Well if Sal is given a choice, she'll go with a small amount of trade.
Exotic Woods (100 lb.): 100 gp
As for passengers, since Sal can't go ashore to meet them she won't be able to ratify if her passengers would be suitable to take with them.
OOC: Could Sal wave from the deck and call out towards the dock to see if anyone is interested? :) Technically not going ashore

Once We Were:
Once we were In our peace With our lives assured.
Once we were Not afraid of the dark.
Once we sat in our kingdom With hope and pride.
Once we ran through The fields with great strides.
We held the Fade And the demon’s flight So far from our children And from our lives.
We held together The fragile sky To keep our way of life.
Once we raised Up our chalice In victory.
Once we sat In the light of our dreams.
Once we were In our homeland With strength and might.
Once we were Not afraid of the night.
