You walk into the Rising Sun Inn It seems fairly full. There is the sound of musicians on a stage, and the bartender is washing dishes to the side. The air is thick and the place is dimly lit. In the center of the room is a man in a blue and yellow robe, writing in a book. What do you do?

I exist sometimes, especially when I'm DMing Curse of Strahd.
A human with black hair and white skin walks through the tavern, wearing a black sleeveless ball dress made to look like crow feathers and wearing a mask that consists of two crow wings covering each eye. They have an air of nobelity and uncanniness to them.
As they reach the table where the man sits, she taps the table with her long, crow like nails as the jewelry and various items on their arms move and jingle. Hoping to get the man's attention.
Brödi, a young, half-orc female, makes her way into the tavern and slips through the crowd and tries to find her way to be within earshot of the figures in the middle of the room. She’s small in height and weight and feels that if she doesn’t draw attention to herself she won’t be noticed. She idly plays with a little mouse in her hands as she waits.
"Just me." They sit down while looking at their nails. Their voice is low and their tone to the point. "Would you rather wait for more or do you believe your little journey has only interested me."
A dragonborn with sapphire blue skins walks into the inn, followed by a sapphire pseudo dragon. His chain mail relfecting the light from outside, his longsword banging against his hip, and his shield painted with the head of a dragon.
He spots the man and women at the table and makes his way over, leaning in closer then most people would.
"I dont suppose one of you two put the flyers up about a job did you?"

The man looks up from the book to see Corvus. He says, "Oh, I suppose you saw one of my flyers then. Is it just you or do you have companions?"

Brödi stays quiet, waiting to see if “this weird bird lady” indicates to anyone else in the room…
*I want to see if I can read what this guy’s writing. I just rolled “perception”*
You can see that he's writing in a book called "The Science of Magic by Ancemor Anygei".

"I have reason to suspect that 3 others will be coming soon-ish." he replies. He goes back to writing in the book.

Brödi watches the entrance for newcomers to see if any of them show interest in the man sitting at the table writing in his book.
Unless GR_Mustang or mattrfagan8 says something, no one pays any attention to the man.

(My pseudo dragon is just a reflavored owl, yes I know they are in game, its just more for flavor then stats)
(So are we waiting on a 3rd player still?)
Is it a familiar?
(Just GR_Mustang hasn't posted yet)

Should be. Their homebrew subclass gives them Find Familiar.
