Nickname: Oberon Character name:Adrymarchios Race: Half-Elf Class: Hexblade Background: Monster Hunter (Urban Bounty Hunter) Backstory: Born in the small picturesque village of Fairmeadows, Adrymarchios grew up with his lovely young mother in a small cottage. His loving and caring mother was a barmaid at the village inn the White Lily where young Adry spent his evenings listening to stories of brave heroes and vile monsters. He never knew his father but his mother would tell stories about him, a handsome elven adventurer that had stayed for some time in the village to hunt down a prowling predator. The father had left a blade for him to bear when he came of age, an exquisitely forged elven blade that was kept under the floorboard of the cottage. Adrymarchios too felt he had an adventurers heart and always wanted to leave for the road once he grew up, carrying his fathers blade. One night Adrymarchios woke up by the screams of his mother. He ran to her room, finding her in the arms of a dark shadow of a man, red eyes glaring at the boy before vanishing into the shadows. Young Adrymarchios held his mothers body, crying and crying until the people of the village found him the next morning. He didn't stay for the funeral, taking the blade and leaving Fairmeadows in search of the dark shadow, never looking back. He quickly learned the blade was sentient, presenting itself as Aranduil, a blade created to end the evil darkness. With Aranduil at his side Adrymarhios travelled the Realms as a carousing adventuring monster hunter, but the grief for his mother never left him, urging him on in the hunt for the dark shadow.
My name/nickname: Dust Character name: Zindarik Grimshard Race: Dragonborn Class: Fighter Character background: Folk hero A little bit of backstory: Twins are rare among the dragonborn, and it is believed that each twin bears a special calling--one child will fulfill that calling within the clan; the other, however, will do so elsewhere, possibly in distant lands and among unfamiliar people. Zindarik's valor in a fight against a worg convinced the clan elders that he must be the one to represent the noble ideals of the clan to the people of Faerun. "Defend what is good and true, and in so doing make the name of Grimshard shine!" Such were the words uttered to Zindarik as the young dragonborn bid farewell to family and friends and took the first steps in carrying out the heroic duty placed upon him. Character's biggest fear: Bringing shame upon the Grimshard name
Character name: Lady Briara Vanbaur Race: Half-Elf Class: Sorcerer (Wild Magic) Character background: Noble Backstory: The words "Feros Ferio" are carved in marble and in the mind of Briara Vanbaur. They are the words of her house, spoken by her noble father on a day of blood. "I am fierce with the fierce", he had said as he drew his iron wand. He went on to establish a family founded on wrath, cunning, and sorcery. Briara is his greatest disappointment. Though she displays the sorcerous arts, she is undisciplined, and the power cannot cover up her naïve nature.
She fell in love with a young lord who - likely - never noticed her. When word came that the man had disappeared into the Shadowfell, Briara determined to set out and rescue the lord, thus proving to her father, high society, and the young man that she was worthy of their adoration.
Character's biggest fear: 1) That she will never have the love of her father (which she won't ever get, really). 2) That everyone else will believe the dark things she has believed about herself. 3) That she will always feel alone.

I'm probably laughing.
It is apparently so hard to program Aberrant Mind and Clockwork Soul spell-swapping into dndbeyond they had to remake the game without it rather than implement it.
Your name/nickname: Rav Character name: Karmine Coldheart Race: Goliath Class: Paladin (Plans to immediately MC Clockwork Sorcerer) Character background: Courtier A little bit of backstory (about 5 sentences, more if you want): Karmine is from a noble family, and grew up in court intrigue, but as a 3rd son he swore an oath in his adolescence and trained to become a knight. In the performance of his protective duties, Karmine was gravely injured. His family spared no expense, and he was saved by an artificer; rebuilt. He now has an elementally charged clockwork heart, and a good deal of scars, both physical and otherwise. Character's biggest fear: Failing to protect those he's entrusted to defend, again.

This looks interesting! Never played CoS (or any game set in Ravenloft, for that matter), and I don't know much about it, but I'll put my name in the hat regardless. I'll roll ability scores, then pick a set and apply.
Okay, I pick the second set. Now, for my application!
Your name/nickname: Albatross Character name: Seraphina Brightmoon Race: Halfling (Lightfoot) Class: Druid Character background: Sailor A little bit of backstory (about 5 sentences, more if you want): Seraphina was born on a trading ship known as the Blue Moon during an immense storm. She grew up sailing the sea, as her mother was the first mate on the Blue Moon, and as she got older, she became involved with the maintenance of the ship, mostly doing odd jobs. The crew of the Blue Moon mostly consisted of halflings, many of which were Seraphina's relatives; others came and went. Seraphina viewed them all as her friends regardless. As she learned about sailing, she also learned about her late father, a powerful druid who sacrificed himself in order to protect the sea from an outbreak of undead. This gave Seraphina a bit of an inferiority complex, as she was constantly comparing herself to her dad. Even so, Seraphina had a happy childhood. Unfortunately, a few days after Seraphina turned thirteen, the Blue Moon capsized, and though most of the crew survived, the ship was not recovered, leaving the survivors without jobs or a way back home. Seraphina decided that she would become a druid of the ocean, just like her father, and then take jobs as an adventurer to raise money to help the crew get a new ship. Though her mother protested this decision, Seraphina was adamant, and so she left her family to study under another druid (a former friend of her father). After a year of training, Seraphina was deemed ready, and so she set off to look for work. Character's biggest fear: Seraphina's biggest fear is letting people down or otherwise making them unhappy. This causes her to often mask her negative emotions with a cheerful smile.
Your name/nickname: Al Character name: Liam Briarwood Race: Kender Class: Artificer Character background: Sage A little bit of backstory (about 5 sentences, more if you want): Liam was born in the forest village of Kendermore, like most kender and he developed wanderlust at an early age. During his travels, he met several gnomes who showed him how to build wonderous machines. One day he rummaged through his pouch and found some nuts and bolts, and a wrench similar to the tools he'd seen the gnomes use. This peaked Liam's curiosity, as science and metalwork was something he'd never really seen back home. He also liked the idea of finding different materials on his travels and making creations that people would like and thus have Liam become more welcome in places around Krynn. Character's biggest fear: Although kender are characterized to being immune to fear, Liam does fear for the peril of others. Being an artificer, he's worked with a lot of people and cared for others and is worried for them, even being afraid for them.
