"Im not made for stealth, im made for direct confrontation and fortification," Ronin says as he sheaths his blades to put away the flame
"Abrax, if you can invisible and fly at the same time, then you should scout a ahead and see what we are dealing with, or at least someone who has a chance at being quiet. We have to know what the leadership structure is found these bugs. we can hold out and thin their numbers but this wont end until we find out what are causing ships to crash here. any volunteers for scouting???"
As the sun rose in the morning horizon, the remains of the arachnid swarm lay before you. 1d10+1 rough cut gems were attached to some corpses with leather cord.
You turn to leaving the bunkered remains of your ship, to look for a more defensible position away from the cave. After a few hours of walking up and down mounds of smooth stone, you see a yellow light shine out in the crevasse between two rocks.
"Work with the other spell casters, I'm sure they can help with the arcana load. Im all for charging in and taking it to them or i can help fortify our position with Yom." Ronin says the group.
Ronin goes back to the group and reports what he saw...
"I think we might be able to break those rocks to get through but i suggest we find a singular entrance to funnel in any enemies into one singular point and fortify the rest of our surroundings."
Looks like a possible safe spot, although I’ll be interested in what is making the light… something like that usually means magic or lava, and I dont think there is lava on this piece of planet sized statue, and light doesn’t just “appear” underground. <ChtkCha, stay within sight of the cave entrance a ways off for now, make sure nothing targets you from range, and if anything “big & dangerous” comes out, fly straight back to report>
Abrax nods, and prepares his ritual to cast his spell. At the end of the ritual, he mutters “The truth of magic may never be known. Perhaps, for a brief moment, may my eyes strain open and the nature of all things be seen til I blink once more”
Once the spell Detect Magic is cast, Abrax would like to go and inspect the area his allies were mentioning
Hakan goes up to Kosh "Do you need healing?"

Ronin wats for a response...
“Both being invisible or flying require intense focus to maintain, so unfortunately I can do one or the other at a given time”

Rough Gems: 11
"I'll head towards the light, watch my back incase anything goes wrong..."
Ronin walks cautiously towards the light and scans the area for any potential dangers and traps:
Perception: 18
You see no traps.
The light is coming from behind the rocks. Some stones are breaking away. Light seeps through the cracks.
Ronin peaks through some of the cracks to look inside:
Perception: 16
You see a hollow behind it. Light reflects on green stone.
Ronin goes back to the group and reports what he saw...

"Good idea"

It watches the spot for an hour with no activity or change.
”Would you like me to go investigate using my powers? I can reveal what it is if it is magical”
Abrax nods, and prepares his ritual to cast his spell. At the end of the ritual, he mutters “The truth of magic may never be known. Perhaps, for a brief moment, may my eyes strain open and the nature of all things be seen til I blink once more”

You detect magic seeping between the cracks in the stone. It seems to be Evocation magic.
Abrax returns to his allies
"I am concerned the magic from the glowing is... evocation. In case one doesn't know... evocation is often associated with spells that explode"
Abrax then goes to sit down. While his face can't show it, there seems to be an air of anxiety around him.
