Lorlin studies the group, carefully watching the interaction. She is a beautiful brunette woman, human, apparently, and quite young. She’s clad in shining plate armor and holds a shield and staff. On the shield is the symbol of an eye- for those familiar, it is the holy symbol of Boccob, a god of magic..
. “I, too saw the signs. And I’m not surprised fate has thrown us together. “ she finally says. “Like each of you, I prepared, as well as I could, for this. It seems we are meant to work together.”I am Lorlin, High Priestess of Boccob, but you can call me Lorlin.
Akkron is pleasantly surprised by how well the Cleric is taking his presence.
"Well, you already know who I am, and the good soldier as well," Akkron says. "I appreciate not being hit with a ray of divine radiance before I got the chance to speak, High Priestess..."
He approaches the others, stepping around the burning pit.
"Now, do any of you remember anything that could be of importance to us? I heard some sounds in the darkness, but I saw no creature. It's almost as if someone, or something is toying with us, but it could well be that one of you has sharper senses than I and may have seen something that I missed."
Having remained silent and still he speaks "This is very strange. I was not expecting others with the same experience and attitude as my self. I am glad to not be alone in this. My name is Slip Surefoot, a once proud halfling, reincarnated as this 'Cat person' (Tabaxi). "
"Well then, it is a rare pleasure to make your acquaintance," the Akkron says, giving a stiff sort of half-bow to the rest of the party. "I must say, you are all taking the sight of a lich incredibly well... usually adventurers smite first and ask questions later when they encounter the undead."

“As a cleric of a god of magic, Lichdom isn’t all that uncommon amongst those I’ve known. I’m older than I appear. Of course, the choices you’ve made to get you to that state, I do not agree with. But at this moment, I believe those of us who are here are the last chance for saving the multiverse- we must work together- or all is lost. I’m willing to put aside my judgements in the interest of the greater… umm. Good. As it were.” Lorlin smiles.
“It is nice to meet you Dabbert and Slipfoot. I’m glad I’m not the only one fully alive here. No offense meant Akkron. I didn’t hear or see anything yet of interest, aside from us, of course. Shall we look around? “. Lorlin starts scanning the area, holding up her shield which is flaming with a heatless fire.
"That is entirely fair," Akkron says to Lorlin, and though the grinning skull doesn't physically change, there is an air of sadness in both his voice and his posture. "In my many lifetimes, I have made more than a few decisions that I have come to regret. But that is for another time and place..."
The lich peers into the burning pit for a moment, then he proceeds by ritual-casting Detect Magic to determine whether the flame is of natural or supernatural origin... not that it matters much one way or the other, but the answer should help him to narrow down the list of possible threats they're dealing with.

"In prep for 'this', I've been working on getting stronger and along the way picked up a few things." He pulls from his back pack a small metal cube. Looking about to make sure there is encoung room he motions for everyone to keep back. He places the cube on the ground and says a couple words and up springs a tower.
The fortress is a square tower, 20 feet on a side and 30 feet high, with arrow slits on all sides and a battlement atop it. Its interior is divided into two floors, with a ladder running along one wall to connect them. The ladder ends at a trapdoor leading to the roof. When activated, the tower has a small door on the side facing you.
You see a modestly appointed room with a table and a few chairs. A couple cabinets. and a strange looking plant.
He walks up to the plant and pats it on the 'head' and says, "Good girl. These are friends" the plant then smiles and blinks it's eyes and smiles and walks over as a new puppy would to see the new friends. "This is Daisey"
"Well that's rather convenient," Akkron says as he finishes up his ritual. Fortunately, the only things he can detect with the spell are his companions' gear. That still leaves the question of what exactly they need to do if they're going to save the multiverse... and they have no idea how much time they have.
The lich follows the tabaxi into the tower with interest. The walking plant catches him a little bit by surprise, but he's certainly seen stranger things.
"Hello, Daisy," he says, awkwardly waving to the plant, before turning his attention to a more serious topic. "So... I didn't sense any magic, excepting the items on our persons, of course. Am I the only one who is starting to wonder if we might have been summoned to this place to get us out of the way rather than to defend the universe?"

Sitting at the table and pulling out a few cups and a jug, he fills it up with a sweet smelling liquid. "Please make your selves at home as this may be the only kindness we have in this place. "
"As for your thought, yea it may be. I'm no bug thinker but that may be the case. "
"Here, let me formally introduce myself. My name is Slip Surefoot and I am a Monk. When I had died a year ago I had this strange horrific vision of death, disaster, mayhem (and mind you, not the good type of mayhem) and utter despair and destruction. "
"A Monk?" Akkron echoes. "Fascinating. I've always wondered if the power of ki is a form of magic or a separate power entirely... but I suppose that now really isn't the best time for academic speculations. The 'visions of horrific death, disaster, and mayhem' are what we really need to be focusing on. I think we need to find a way to establish what is happening in the world above us before we make our next move... I, unfortunately, did not come prepared for scrying as I expected a to be fighting a dragon or some similar creature and prepared accordingly."

Lorlin gladly steps into the tower. “Quite nice! It will be a good place to rest. Once we’ve found what we are supposed to do.”
Akkron reaches into his pack and rummages around for a moment... before drawing out an ornate pipe carved into the shape of a dragon.
"Do any of you mind if I smoke?" the lich asks as he takes a seat to mull over the situation at hand.
