Gnosis nods politely to Briara, "Good evening, . . . Briara. I am Gnosis. We had agreed that it was good to be in a warm, dry place during this weather."
"I'm terribly sorry for my ill manners milady, that was very impolite of me to not notice you there." The black-and-red-haired half-elf says, swiftly on his feet to offer the noble half-elf a chair at his side. "Allow me to introduce myself, Adrymarchios, traveller and monsterhunter extraordinaire, and this here is Alys, Seraphina, Gnosis, and of course Cygnus."He says with a polite bow before inclining his head to the others in turn as he introduces them, then finding his seat again. "We were just talking about the lovely weather and what business we have in Caerden. You are of course most welcome to join into our discussion milady."
Alys studies the latest stranger with interest. Some sort of noblewoman perhaps, but then again first impressions can often deceive. She knows that all too well in her line of...business.
"Greetings, Briara," Alys says. "Welcome to our table."
Small blue threads of magic emerge from Seraphina's fingertips, turning into a dark cloud the size of her palm. After a moment, the cloud dissipates into an even darker mist before fading away.
Seraphina sighs. "Well, it looks like the rain's just gonna get heavier. We'll be stuck here for a while."
Although she says this nonchalantly, there's an edge of nervousness to her tone. She looks up at the rafters, trying to see if there are any leaks yet.
"It's a pleasure to meet you all," Briara says politely.
She looks delighted by Seraphina's cantrip.
"That's one I've never been able to manage," she says, leaning forward to watch the tiny cloud evaporate. "Forgive me if this is an indelicate question, but... how did you come by your magics? I was... blessed... with my few tricks on account of my father, you see. In the blood and all, or at least that's what I've been told. I admire those who can learn magics on their own or appeal to supernatural patrons for the gift. If I was not born with it, I very much doubt I would ever be able to manage anything like that."
"As for business, I am in search of a... a friend who has gone missing. They were last seen along this area, so I am here, determined to find sign of them."
"Thank the gods we have such good company then." The black-and-red-haired half-elf says to the halfling with a friendly smile. "If we'll only have a hot meal soon and some more ale I have no hurry te leave." He continues, again looking around for a waitress coming with what he ordered.
Adrymarchios' red curious eyes watches Briara as she speaks. "So you are a sorceress then Briara. I have a blade that lends me it's magic when I behave. Quite useful so I won't complain, but to have magic in your blood, I must admit I envy you Briara. Perhaps you will let me help you find your friend?" He says with a polite tone to noble half-elf.
Gnosis keeps an eye out for the waitress as well. When she draws near he inquires about the soup du jour, and specifically asks whether it comes with a serving a bread.
"Well, we certainly aren't lacking for magical talent, are we?" remarks Alys dryly. "I may have a few talents in that area myself, but my power was gifted to me by a supernatural patron as you call it."
Alys leans forward and also looks around for the waitress. "I could use a drink and some hot food myself."
"A supernatural patron?" The black-and-red-haired half-elf turns and says to Alys. "Please tell us more." He says, looking curiously at her as he shuffles his deck of cards, mostly to have his hands occupied it seems as he's more and more running out of patience with the service of this tavern.
The waitress tries to slide between the tables and patrons, the chairs and wooden floor creaking as they are moved to give her more room to walk. "I'm terribly sorry for the wait. The storm has us packed much tighter than usual." She gives out a deep sigh. "What can I get you all?"
"Well, what do you have? A hot meal would be good, and another one of these."Adrymarchios says to the waitress, holding up his almost empty tankard of ale. "Also, who would you speak to about any problems that would need to be eliminated around here."He adds with a polite smile. "Oh yes, also a room for the night of course."
Briara raises a timid hand. "If it is not a bother, some tea with thick cream and sugar would be wonderful. And perhaps some quail or pheasant roast? Chicken, even, if need be. And perhaps a salad of green? I'm not picky. And perhaps a fruit tart or pie to finish with? If it's not a bother, of course."
Briara seems earnest but entirely unfamiliar with what is and isn't readily available at a place like this.
Alys is saved from answering Adrymarchios' question right away as the waitress appears to take their orders. Instead, she smiles at the waitress. "I'll take whatever hot meal you have available, please, and a glass of wine if you have it."
The waitress squeezes through the crowd, quietly apologizing to everyone she bumps into. She arrives at the table with a serving tray full of meals and drinks, quickly placing them in front of you. "I'm so sorry for the wait. My friend hasn't been here the past few days so I'm on my own." She turns to go back towards the kitchen, then looks at everyone. "Oh, and the drinks are on the house. Sorry again for the delay. Enjoy your meal."

"Hello, Briara!" Seraphina says, still looking at her outstretched hand. The cantrip seems to be taking longer than usual.

"Thanks miss, but what about the room, and the other thing I asked about?" Adrymarchios says, trying to keep the waitress' attention.
Gnosis tucks into his soup, hoping he might get away without paying for it.
