(Natasha grabs the longest, sturdiest piece of wood from the pile of rubble next to them, uses her torch to light it on fire, then uses it as an improvised weapon on the rat in front of her.)
Attack: 18 Damage: 5 + Sneak Attack 6
(Using her Cunning Action, she then tosses the flaming piece of wood at the 4 rats to the right of Stone, trying to create a barrier between them and Stone so they back up and, hopefully, can't attack him.)
OOC: I hope I didn't take too many liberties there, please let me know if you don't think any of my actions are appropriate or should use some other stats for any of that.
OOC: It’s a cool idea, but it is a little much. I’ll let you choose whether you attack the rat in front of you or toss the flaming wood between Stone and the other rats. Either way, you can keep the roll you already made.
You toss the flaming wood between Stone and the rats directly in front of him. The fire causes the rats to step back to protect themselves. They don’t flee, but they won’t be getting through the flames to attack Stone.
You swing Bread at the rats in front of you and you easily slice through the one you strike. It lets out a high pitched squeal as it dies and mysteriously evaporates.
You swing your torch to keep the other at bay and manage to burn him badly. It’s still alive but in very bad shape.
Penelope, it’s your turn, then you’re Swarm of Rats turn. Or they can go first, if you want.
Your Swarm of Rats barrel through the rat in front of you without even slowing down. It envelopes the rat in front of Natasha and soon you can’t tell them apart.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Penelope’s Swarm of Rats went from enveloping one rat to trying to fight four. The rats attack the swarm. You hear a cacophony of hissing and scratching.
Rat 1: Bite: 18 Damage: 1
Rat 2: Bite: 13
Rat 3: Bite: 25 Damage: 1
Rat 4: Bite: 6 Damage: 1
Jacob: The four rats in front of you, including the burnt one, attack.
Rat 5: Bite: 9 Damage: 1
Rat 6: Bite: 21 Damage: 1
Rat 7: Bite: 24 Damage: 1
Rat 8: Bite: 11 Damage: 1
The rats cover you in little bites. You feel a sense of déjà vu.
Stone: The four rats to the left of you leap at you and attack.
Rat 9: Bite: 7
Rat 10: Bite: 13 Damage: 1
Rat 11: Bite: 15
Rat 12: Bite: 20 Damage: 1
Two rats manage to make it past your defenses and nip at you.
(OOC: I think Dex would be the modifier needed here, but a roll of 16 succeeds on its own.)
You uncork the flask and splash the oil on the rats in front of Jacob. You thrust your torch into the center of the group and they all instantly ignite. Their screams and the stench of their burnt fur disappear as they evaporate, leaving nothing behind but burning oil. The mass of burning oil falls onto the deck, and slowly starts to burn the pier. Since the wood here is so water logged, it doesn’t seem to be spreading just yet.
The other four rats run towards the rest of the party, but can’t attack this round.
Natasha, you’re up.
