((From the OOC thread, if either Slick or Oren wishes to remember the fact that Braston was a frequent client of the antiques shopkeeper and wishes to state so, change actions based on that, you are allowed to do. The roll was mostly to see whether I'd hint you guys OOC just because I realize it's hard to keep track of everything when it happens over multiple days/weeks/longer.))
Barring someone acts otherwise, under the insistence of Sylvera, Slick, and after some pushing Pallen too, a letter is being writ up, addressing first the foremost concern the group has, before listing up all the suspicions they have, with what little concrete proof... But maybe after enough coincidences, proof shouldn't be that hard to find?
The only thing the group would still have to decide is:
-Who to give the letter to -What of the stuff that Slick and Oren are "holding" to give off alongside it, if anything?
Oren immediately remembers that while they can't know for certain just how much of a relation the antiques merchant and the guild master had, the guild master was at the very least an often. At the very least the decision is made to leave a "care package" for whoever they end up choosing - Leaving the group only to decide between whether they should pen toward the mayor, or this guildmaster?
Pallen watches on, at first just worried, and mostly uncertain himself as he keeps quiet. But then he sees how most just can't quite make up their mind, or just don't have a strong opinion in the first place, or would rather just simply continue even in stead of keeping themselves busy. While yet others state they would go along with whatever another person who hasn't quite made their mind up yet would do, Pallen eventually sighs as he speaks up again.
"Look- If I had a choice, I would just seek to talk and at least do this properly, but we do have to make a decision. Unless anyone can vouch for this merchant, the mayor seems like the best bet, still, so I think we should give it there."
"...Or we could just write two letters and give it to each."
"We should leave and then send the letters once we step outside. Have someone write them as we walk to the gate and we'll pay someone outside of the town guard to deliver them."
Sylvera very clearly doesn't feel like they should stay in town. She doesn't want to ruin her own reputation, and wants to hurry up and get to their destination.
"So you have property too? Maybe that should go to the mayor, give the merchant incentive to move, rather than just calling it good and keeping the other things.", Breldo muses, but he's not looking to linger, he doesn't relish drawing the captains ire again.

Pallen's expression betrays he's uncertain about pushing things off like that, but everyone realizes by this point the growing anxiety of what could happen if they keep lingering much longer, and draw the ire of this captain that would have considered himself slighted. So with that, it seems the final decision is made- And the group begins setting of Westward, toward their next destination.
(Everyone give me a perception check.)
"I suppose we do have a lot of time to brainstorm now. I'll help, if Khond can manage pulling two people on the cart for a bit..?"
The group begins to travel, setting off toward the West. It becomes immediately obvious to everyone this isn't quite like the path they used yesterday. It is evidently still a path, and not in disuse, but it sees not nearly the same level of travel as the main cobbled road is, the dirt road causing occasional bumps in the cart as they hit holes or bumps that scatter the surface. And while yesterday they left early, they had seen plenty of people behind them, or eventually coming from the other direction. Right now at least, they held the road all to themselves.
Breldo also notices, glancing over his shoulder after travelling only a short while, how one of the guards at the gate they just exited says something to his other, then heads back into the city.
For the remainder however, things are peaceful, the first leg of their journey mostly passing through farmland bordering the city of Passley and smaller farmsteads around it, before eventually heading out into rougher grasslands. Out of the city, those glancing toward the left occasionally see, in between hills, trees, or other structures poking out what must be a massive rock formation. A pillar of rock jutting out, much like a mountain, except created by sheer cliffs than the natural incline such a mountain should bear.
(Anyone who considers their character at least somewhat native to these human lands can open this spoiler:)
Everyone who's at least somewhat familiar with these lands can only logically deduce that the pillar they see is the "God's finger", the massive and odd geological formation around, and on which the capital of Mhurgot is located. (For any more info, I'd ask for knowledge checks.)
Overall, it's nearing midday for the group as they crest the hill they have been slowly trekking up on for a while, and as they come out on the other side their vista changes. While they will likely be traveling for a few more hours, their destination is already in sight. Ahead and to their left, their current height allows them to see the massive forest that begins to sprawl out, and the river that comes streaming out of it much further up ahead. In comparison, the simple structures that surround it, and the fields around it to denote the small farming community are almost missed.
After travelling a bit on the road and mulling the thoughts and ideas over, Oren finally speak up. "Let's send a letter to both the mayor and the guildmaster. That way if one of them is in the pocket of our problem captain, the other will still maybe do something. And split the evidence between the two letters. And, when we right them, make certain that it says that a letter was sent to both of them, so they know it isn't simply one person who knows about the issue." He takes a deep breath. "So, how do we get these letters back there? Send them back with then next caravan we cross paths with that is going that direction, or do we send a courier from the next city we enter?"
"An extra person or two in the cart shouldn't be hard to handle. Four legs are pretty handy for that. As for performing, Rick, playing a flute while on a long haul would be a bit of a challenge."
Perception: 10
"If we pass any traders along the way, asking them to make the deliveries may not be a bad idea, but if we don't come across any then we should be able to find a courier, surely."

(can I have a d20 roll from Oren and Slick?)
Lady Luck: 17
Slick has something briefly nag at the back of his mind, but perhaps willfully, ignores it.

Oren will hand off all of the items from the shop to help present this case.
Slick would gladly pass anything he was holding to Oren to hand off.
Oren immediately remembers that while they can't know for certain just how much of a relation the antiques merchant and the guild master had, the guild master was at the very least an often. Rick will support Oren's choice of recipient if it conflicts with Breldo's (or anyone else's).

Rick chats aimlessly with Pallen and Khond,
"And then Rick said, green chicken? Rick doesn't know anything about a green chicken!"
He chuckles before explaining,
"It was funny because Rick did actually know about a green chicken!"
Rick looks at the weird rocks in passing but doesn't dwell on them.
As they reach the lookout spot he'll take a quick read on Pallen's mood.
