Rick mutters,

"Sylvia, write that down. Memory of something in god's eyes."

He then yells,

"Punch Lore mask Friend Khond and tell Lore to stop making crap up!"

"I don't punch things, Rick...  Now, I'm probably going to have the wrong understanding of Titans, and I doubt I will be able to avoid passing out.  So, when I do, it will be your job to ask what the answer was, and...  Sylvia will need to remember it.  Now then...  A titan is a powerful being of magic which embodies a concept."

Rick winces preemptively at the inevitable whomping about to be laid on Khond.

There is a suspiciously long pause this time at Khond's statements, before the sound of a long sigh.

"You know, if I had arms or any part that could really move, I would likely be kneading my forehead at this time. Your answer is not completely wrong, but not the one I am looking for."

(Khond, give me a wisdom saving throw.)

Edit: I'm dumb and didn't consider I needed to actually add my stat to the die it rolled, so on checking the actual roll history it's 18.

Khond hears a brief struggling from behind. Pushing themselves past Rick in the door way, an angry mob of townspeople march up, pitchfork and torches already in hand.

"There he is!"
"The one who tells those TERRIBLE stories!"
"He got someone killed with those!"

Of course, while there is something in the back of his mind assuring him for a second that this must be all real, because he's seeing it with his own eyes, he soon realizes that Rick has not budged an inch toward the large group of people suddenly behind him... And just as quickly as they appeared, they vanish again.

"Third question. Why was Empress Evelynne killed?"

Khond frowns at the mob as they appear and disappear.  "A poor attempt at torment, that was.  There would never be a group angered by my performances.  Still, I am curious now. From what I have heard, I did think I would be close, but what is a titan, really?  Are they perhaps magic in physical form?"

"I admittedly have no clue why the empress was killed.  Until just recently I wasn't even familiar with the name.  I assume this isn't what you want to hear, but I even if I did make a guess it would be meaningless."

Rick waits, in vain, for something bad to happen. When it doesn't he only looks a tiny bit disappointed.

He does lightly nudge Sylvia to get ready to write down the 'correct' answer.

At the next question, Rick suggests,

"Friend Khond, Rick would have said 'because someone powerful wanted Empress Evelynne dead'. Rick knows that Lore wouldn't have liked that though, even though Rick is definitely right."

He then prepares himself for another Ponytaur whomping.

"Did you see an angry mob? That particular spell shows you something scary and dangerous to yourself, but what that is differs from person to person. Some higher power likely thought you would find that prospect the most terrifying," the mask responds, before answering Khond's question.

"A titan is a divine being formed directly by the eyes of Father."

"Although I admit that many of them become representatives of concepts, so your description could fit, even if you are still just guessing. Given what Father is, your statement of magic given physical form could be considered quite apt as well."

There is another long pause as Khond answers next that he doesn't really know the answer to the next question. He even boldly states that he has no idea who the woman is without performing a history check on what is a prominent figure in very ancient history, though it matters not for the masks answer after a short pause.

"There is no shame in ignorance itself. There is only shame if said ignorance is wilful."

"With that said, are you certain you wish to submit 'I do not know' as your answer?"

(Give me an intelligence roll too?)

Intelligence/History: 6

I'm gonna assume a 6 isn't enough to know ancient history well enough to know what the mask is after, so unless there's a miracle otherwise Khond responds, "There is no source I am able to learn from, so unless you're willing to educate me before I even give an answer, I have no choice but to submit that answer."

"I am here to answer all questions I am allowed, if requested."

"The answer to why empress Evelynne was killed is 'The bullet missed'."

Rick curses, using several very bad tabaxi words.

Khond blinks, perplexed, "Wait, I'm not really sure what you mean by 'bullet,' but does that mean the assassination was meant for the emperor, rather than the empress?  But then, what cause was there to try to kill him either?"

"I see you are making a very good deduction again. Although I am afraid the exact reasoning is both very complex, and falls outside the fields of what I am allowed to share."

"But perhaps the next question will help give you some additional insight. By whom was empress Evelynne killed?"
