Slick earns some... Very, very pointed silence as he asks a specific question. Even Pallen, nothing but complacent so far, starts wondering if it really was the smartest idea to take this sudden tagalong... Or perhaps to describe it more accurately, if it was worth the, erm, "disturbance". Still, so focused, or distracted, they are by this, one thing they certainly fail to notice is how the main thing the farmer appears to be predominantly selling right now is oats. So, so many oats. It's probably "I'm practically giving them away for free" prices. Alas- Breldo does notice that, at least. And while there is nothing stopping their journey, he does notice how a bit further into the farmstead, near one of the larger grazing fields, a pair of younger farmsteads have gathered, their whole posture betraying uncertainty, although the apparent intent is clear: one of the two already holding a rope tied into a lasso in one hand, weighing it uncertainly in his hand, while the bull standing deeper within the actual pen, more cows behind it, stares at them in a way that almost seems to as if trying to provoke the two to "try".
(Nuria and Sylvera can still roll, 14+ will have them see this too. )
"Those your boys looking to tussle the bull?", Breldo calls out to the farmer, nodding with his head towards where the two youngsters are facing off against it.

Nuria takes in her surroundings quickly. Unsure of what to think of the oat selling farmer or the cows. Sure she'd seen this type of thing before, her home village was a smaller farm focused town as well, but for some reason this seems different...but then again, everything seems different because it isn't home. But that's good isn't it? She had left because she wanted to. Right?
The oat seller doesn't capture her attention like the potential bull wranglers. After all, he's just an oat seller. The young girl clearly doesn't understand how low the man's prices actually are. She looks at Breldo when he speaks up. Then back at the two young men in the corral. She could tell that they were nervous, and clearly that bull doesn't want to be captured. Unsure of what to do, she waits for a response to the halfling's question.
Sylvera eyes the two young cattlemen and the bull. It could be entertaining to watch them struggle, but it would also be a major waste of time. So, she ignores them. She seems to be pretty good at doing that... though when Slick asks his rather disturbing question she can't help but give him a look of disgust. The centaur might be half beast but asking such a question of any individual was simply vulgar.
She looks to Pallen, "Remind me why you decided to let that one come along?"
Then, looking for something else to occupy her attention, she turns her gaze back to the young men and the bull. Better to waste time watching them then to waste brainpower trying to reason out why the tabaxi was with them... not to mention expel any unwanted images from her mind.
While initially it looks like the group was just going to pass by the farmstead, Breldo's initial question of worry has the group slow down at least slightly. The owner of the farm, with a big bushy beard bordering on the line of being unkempt glances up at the halfling first, and then in the direction of the two helpers, where his eyes linger for a long moment, and there's the subtlest hint of a frown. However, he turns back to Breldo, first.
"Hmm? Ah, yeah, don't mind them. We have a couple of calves we want to wean off, but our bull's gotten in a protective mood. I think he's just grumpy," he says, then quickly turns back to the two further away. "Jacob, Adam, square up! It can tell you're scared!"
After that, and a slight hand gesture as if to say "those kids" as much to the trader he's dealing with as Breldo and the others, he's intent on finishing up his trade, apparently still in discussion about exact prices, weights, quality... At which point even the previously blind Slick would notice what is being sold, and tries to butt in.
"Easy there mate, I've only one pair of hands! Wait until I'm finished settling price with the good gentlemen here, and we can talk,"
Pallen purses his lips shut ever so slightly. Partially to Sylvera asking why Slick even came along, partially to waiting here in order so the same Slick could purchase oats. Then again, waiting five, ten minutes, wouldn't be a big deal in the grand scope of things, which is probably the main reason he stays quiet.
Khond's not got anything going. Not like he's about to jump the fence and go get gored himself.

Nuria looks between Breldo and the bull as the halfling talks. Breldo sure is a wealth of knowledge. This encounter is extremely interesting to her. Animals, even large animals never really scared her, but aside from the few times...before the incident of course, she was allowed to play with a dog, or ride a horse at the neighboring farm, she never had much of a chance to be around animals...aside from those she hunted anyway. "D-do you think we should help them? Y-you seem to know how to handle that bull than they do--" She cuts herself off. Was that rude to say?
"Best to only take side jobs when the boss is okay with it... or isn't aware. Farmer's business, the lads'll need to learn, but we can keep an eye and offer to help if it looks like it's needed."

Sylvera huffs, "Are we going to just sit and watch these fools? Or are we going to keep moving?" She looks to Pallen, "It is your call, as you were the one who hired these... bodyguards. If you wish to watch then fine, but personally I would like to be on our way." Perhaps it was heartless, considering that they were literally traveling to Pallen's grave, but Sylvera is there on her own business, she doesn't have time to waste.
"It doesn't hurt to keep an eye on things. The farmer may not be keeping a close eye, and we should let the boys build their own experience, for to disrupt their work is to strip them of growth, but if things go poorly then someone may step in to aid them before it gets too nasty." Carefully not glancing back at Pallen, Khond continues, "There are few tragedies worse than losing family and feeling responsible for it. If our brief pause may spare a life of grief, then it is a good thing."

If Rick sees the oats for sale he will say,
"Rick would like two large bags please!"
He is aware of the stares he is getting on the poop question, but somethings can't go unanswered.

Slick smiles and waits patiently, attention now drawn to the bull show as well.
(Everyone else also just waiting/watching?)
Breldo is pointing out bull handling tips to Nuria, never know when you might need to know how to convince a bull to play nice.
