You've been traveling along the Highroad for days. As evening approaches, you spot a wooden signpost next to a trail that heads north into the hills. Nailed to the post are three arrow-shaped signs. The two marked "Waterdeep" and "Daggerford" follow the High road but point opposite directions. The third, Marked "nightstone" beckons you to follow the trail. If memory serves, Nightstone is roughly ten miles up the trail.

”Ten more miles.” Akelin says to himself. “Just a nice wee afternoon stroll.” Akelin, Human cleric, is going to Nightstine to see if there’s any adventures he can join in or people he can help. He’s been traveling for a while, doing the same sort of thing.

Shouldering her pack, Muirdir stalks past Akelin. The short grey dwarf pulls her hood even lower over her head grumbling about traveling during the day. While traveling together, she mentioned that she was traveling to Nightstone because she heard a friend of hers had been last seen there. He had been researching something important and was close to a breakthrough before he went missing.
"Sooner we get to town the sooner I can see if anyone has seen my friend," Muirdir says darkly as she fiddles with a small device in her hand that periodically whirs.

After following the trail for ten miles, you here the ringing of a bell. The sound grows louder as Nightstone comes into view. A river flows around the settlement, forming a moat. The village itself is contained with a wooden pallisade, beyond which you see a windmill, a tall steeple, and the High-pitched rooftops of several buildings. Apart from the ringing of the bell, you detect no other activity in the village. The trail ends before a lowered drawbridge that spans the moat. Beyond the drawbridge, two stone towers watchtowers flank an open gap in the palisade. South of the village and surrounded by the river moat is a Cone-shaped, Flat-topped hill on which stands a stone keep enclosed by a wooden wall. The keep, which overlooks the village, has partially collapsed. A wooden bridge that once connected the keep to the village has also partially collapsed.
You dont notice anything but as you walk in heres what you notice
As you guys enter the town you immediatly see two towers and as you look around more you see to your left what appears to be a temple and to your immediat right you see a normal house and more up and to your right you see a farm and a farm house. Straight ahead you see the town square and a big hole in the ground where it looks like there used to be something
"Exciting town," Muir grumbles as she enters the town. She then looks around more closely, "Um... Akelin.... you know why there is a large hole in the ground? Also were is everyone?"
You see a tall rabbit-man bound into Nightstone. He sees the party and immediately tries to hide behind a nearby shrub.
Roll stealth
Everybody else roll perception
As you step foot into town you notice gigantic boulders have crushed houses and destroyed most of the town you here dogs barking from the square and some scurrying from inside the nearby houses in my last post. There is not much else to be heard.
*Do you guys want to do block initiative or average out the rolls or normal? I will be sending you links to badly drawn battle maps on Owlbear rodeo (I'm not very good at online drawing)*
Akelin walks to the closest boulder and puts a hand on it, giving it a small shove, to no effect. “Or maybe a volcano or something? Cause a giant would have thrown it, not dropped it.”

"Exciting town," Muir grumbles as she enters the town. She then looks around more closely, "Um... Akelin.... you know why there is a large hole in the ground? Also were is everyone?"
Akelin walks forward to the edge, looking at the hole thoughtfully. “No. I have no idea. Do you?”

Akelin keeps looking around, looking at all the smashed things. “Giant, maybe? What do you think?”
(perception of 17) “What’s that?”
(i’d say normal initiative.)
