Demoiselle slipped into an empty chair near her fellows. "Bonjour, mes amis. The smells wafting from the kitchen are enchanting, no?" She said before turning a smile on the unfamiliar girl "And I am Demoiselle, it is a pleasure to meet someone new."
I introduce Tryma to Korlan and the others as they arrive. I will then catch up with Korlan and the others about my activities of the morning, leaving out the note I found.
"Second Sun temple?" Tryma's eyes widen. "I've heard about that place! Some of the people around here call it the 'Seconds Sober' temple or the 'Senseless Son' temple." Her pointed ears flame red in embarrassment after blurting that out. "B...but I'm sure that's just gossip."
Quickly trying to switch to a nicer subject she says, "I, myself, have lived my whole life within an hour's walk of the temple. Mostly I'm paid a bit to encourage mice and such to leave, although lately it's been more snakes, and I also keep birds away from the fountain and statues." She giggles behind her hand. "Ol' mungy Menges don't like to see bird poo on his pretty goddess."
Esvaris: "More than you'd think actually. Few a day. An' I don't 'catch 'em', I just," she wiggles her fingers in a shooing gesture, "encourage 'em to move on." She laughs prettily again in her high voice. "If Menges had an ounce of sense he'd know that, when it comes to snakes and mice, one will eat the other, so they're not really 'pests', just fellow creatures lookin' for their next meal."

Demoiselle smiled cynically at the nicknames, though in truth she expected something along those lines. She raised an eyebrow at the mention of snakes. "I hope they have not been the venomous kind, Mademoiselle. I have seen on my travels many a death from a snake's bite and none have been a way that I would wish to die. A girl who looks as sweet as you takes the proper precautions, yes?" She asked, trying to sound kind.
Although you hadn't encountered the symbol before today, you do recall seeing it in one of High Lord Emeritus' books while you were cleaning. It was a much earlier symbol of Usoara, from the time of the founding of the church, before time and tradition had morphed her symbol into more of a sunburst, than a star. There were other illuminated pages that even showed the earliest symbol as having looked more like a shooting star.
Demoiselle: Tryma nods her head seriously. "Of course! Havin' beast speech doesn't mean every creature I meet likes me." She spreads her hands like she's measuring a good sized stack. "Snakes round here are only trouble when you get a good sized mess of 'em all together. One won't hurt you much, even if it does getcha. So, no worries!" Her mouth is then occupied by scooping soup into it as quickly as possible.
(You all are free to share whatever you wish from the day. The meal time will end in about half a bell's time.)
Demoiselle and Simeon (adding Quill):
Among the many conversations going on around you in the rectory's common room, you hear a couple of second year clerics talking in hushed voices. They are discussing having seen Lord Atterley's extremely pretty daughter this morning as she was leaving the basilica. It was odd to them, because she hadn't arrived with the Lord and was acting kind of like she didn't want to be seen, hood up and hidden in her black fur coat. "And if she was trying to blend, she shouldna worn that coat! I ask you, who else can afford something like that?" one says.
Emungo arrives about halfway through meal time carrying more books. These three look older and thinner, with more high quality leather covers and all locked individually. He speaks to Sister Naphtali for a moment and you see her hand him an iron ring with two iron keys dangling from it. Then he heads down the hall in the southeast corner of the room.

I see the books carried by Emungo and my interest is piqued. Not sure what door is locked, but I think to self I want in that room. I excuse myself from the meal. “Big meals like this fill up halfling rather quickly” I say to the table. I want to try following Emungo unnoticed.
Quill can't remember ever hearing anything about Lord Atterley's daughter. She must not be famous for anything in particular.
Korlan: Emungo is rather oblivious at the moment, focused on his task, but not trying to hide where he's going at all. Along the hall are four busts on the right, each of a past High Lord of the basilica. Stopping just before the last bust, Emungo opens the first door on the left and enters, leaving the door somewhat open behind him. Inside the quiet room you glimpse wide bookshelves freestanding in the center of the room. You also hear repeated 'scritching' noises coming from the right side of the room where the only sunlight seems to come from, though muted. (are you entering the room?)
NOTE* Ignore the words "guild hall" on the map. This is a map of the rectory.
When I finish eating, I would like to thank Tryma for her company, and say I would like to get settled. I then set off to try to find the place I will be sleeping.

"Also, from the blissful looks I saw after folks had drank those potions I'm sure they are either drugs or magic potions that do much the same. We should keep our eyes open, mes amis."

Quill sits down in an empty spot at the table.
"Hello," he says to the unfamiliar person, offering a friendly smile.
"I'm Quill. Good to meet you."
And that's all I have to say about that.
